A/N IVE COMPLETLY FORGOTTEN TO WRITE THE NAME OF THE SONGS DOWN!!!

Wow, Ales, you idiot. The first song was called I Never Told You by Colbie Caillat.

The second song was called Darlin' I'm a Mess by Sabrina Carpenter.

This song is called Eyes Wide Open by Sabrina Carpenter. 

Remember, I don't use the whole song. I use the parts that best describe the story.p

Melanie's POV

I sat down in the ship, reading through Zoey's journal. The moonlight allowed me to continue the last pages of the book. Ales and Sam were asleep, and I was busy trying to find information.

Why do we need that annoying fairy's journal?

So I can free Garroth.

If only you let me lead, I could use those powerful magicks of yours and--

Open the portal? I don't think so. Besides, you need immortality and I don't have any. Aphmau and Laurence are going to help me free Garroth.

If they were planning on helping you, why didn't they tell you earlier about Garroth? Face it. No one likes you.

Shut up.

I continued scanning through the journal. I didn't want to close my eyes, even if I was tired. I had to keep my eyes wide open, and make sure I could find something for Garroth.

Just like he told me to all those years ago.

Everybody loves to tell me I was born an old soul

There's so much that I don't know

Just another adventure

I could see those blue eyes now.

I can almost hear him now

"You gotta keep those blue eyes wide open, Mel. If you wanna find adventure, love, whatever it may be, you'll have to keep your eyes wide open."

Gotta make him proud

Heaven help me keep my faith

"Melanie, did you find anything?" Asked Aphmau. She had been standing with me the entire time. I nodded.

"Yes... But so far, the only way to open the portal is to have immortality. I don't have that, and neither do you." I said.

"What about Laurence?" Asked Aphmau.

"In order to gain my immortality, I'd have to kill the person whom I care about the most. Right now, that would be the person I'm protecting." Laurence said, climbing the ladder. Aphmau nodded.

"Right... Me." Aphmau mumbled. I bit my lip.

"Have you two had any sleep? It's past my shift to take watch." Laurence said. I shook my head.

"I can't sleep at ease until Garroth is safe." I explained. Laurence nodded.

"That may be, but you still need to rest." Laurence said. Aphmau took her leav and went down into the cabins.

"Ok, I guess I'll go sleep." I said, following Aphmau.

"Unless, of course, you would like to stay up here with me." Laurence said, smirking.

"I'd love to Laurence, but you were right about me being tired." I said.

"You could lean on my shoulder." Laurence offered. I felt myself blushing, when a storm appeared out of the ordinary. It attracted Aphmau.

"What's going on?!" She yelled over the wind.

"The weather changed out of no where... We need to get to shore now." Laurence ordered.

"I'll wake the others!" I cried, running down to the cabin.

Lost. We were lost.

Great. And to make matters worse...

"DMITRI!? NEKOETTE?! What are you doing here?!" Aphmau and I confronted the little stowaways. The children explained their story and ran away to, 'Find adventure'.

"Come on, Aphmau and Laurence. Let's find those kids. Katelyn, Aaron, Sam and Ales will be fine here on their own." I said, following the kids.

What I saw next was  a strange sight. Dmitri and Nekoette were cornered by four soldiers. Dmitri held his swords up to protect Nekoette, but I was quick to stop anything from happening.

"Hey! Stop that now!" I yelled.

The four soldiers turned, and Aphmau started speaking to one of them. Then, she turned around, and I decided to wait for the soldiers to leave until I asked the next question.

"Aphmau, should we trust these people?" I asked warily. She shook her head frantically.

"No, b-but we don't know where we are, or what to do right now, and we need help. Here's what we're going to do. Laurence and Melanie, take the children back to the ship. I'll go with them." Aphmau said. 

"No, it's not safe. I promised your children I would protect you, and I'm not about to go back on my word again." I said.

"I can protect myself, Melanie. Go back to the ship, and tell Katelyn, Sam and Ales what's going on. Then, you can come find me with Laurence. It's not a long trip from here to the ship, so I won't be gone long." Aphmau said.

"Mm... Fine. We can make this quick. Just be careful." I said. Laurence looked at the children, and ordered them to follow us.

We left an uneasy Aphmau at the hands of strangers.

Laurence and I ran after Aphmau, making as much small talk as possible.

"So... It's cold is t it?" I asked, my breath making a cold fog in the wind. Laurence nodded.

"Yes it is... Hopefully Aphmau will be able to find something." Laurence said.

At that moment, I stopped in front of Aphmau, whom was holding several bags.

Aphmau, did you find anything?" Laurence asked. Aphmau nodded.

"Yes... I found some information." Aphmau said.

"I'm all ears." Laurence said, not realizing what he said. I elbowed him.

"Of course you are, you have cat ears." I said. He smirked, and Aphmau giggled.

"But anyways, we might have to pay a visit to a demon warlock..." Aphmau said.

A/N Not the most interesting episode, but it was enough to make a chapter! Also, I have a theory about the Lady Irene portal thing.

But, I almost forgot to tell you all something!
