Melanie's POV

I paced through the small vanity room, tripping over my dress while I read the book with only one thought in mind.

This can't be happening

Most of you must be thinking that I just have the pre-wedding jitters, but that's not it at all.

It's more like the anti-forced marriage jitters.

I remember when they brought Aphmau back into the cell because she 'didn't look like a Meifwa.' They took me instead. 

I also remembered when that little jerk, Michi~Chan, brought Lily and Laurence to the castle. Now I have four people to protect with this stupid wedding.

1) Aphmau

2) Katelyn

3) Laurence

4) Lily

And as much as I hated to say it, I knew somewhere deep down inside that I still loved him. And that day when he tried looking me in the eye and telling me that he didn't I saw exactly what the king saw.

Sadly.

Because now, tonight during the wedding, they were going to have him executed.

And I would have to suffer through that if I didn't want to break my promise to Levin, Malachi, and Jack.

"Why, you look splendid!" A voice broke my thoughts, and I connected it back to Mino. Quickly, I turned around, and he saw the tears stains.

"Have you been crying?" He asked.

I'm being forced to marry against my own will. I'm not gonna do it happily!

"Th-these are t-tears of j-j-joy." I assured him, stuttering over my own words like a nervous wreck.

If only Garroth were here now.

"Well, I have good news for you! Laurence is being allowed to attend the wedding! Not any of your other friends, but Laurence has a special attendance. At least he'll be able to see you become happy!" 

I felt the tears threaten to spill.

How could you do this...?

"Now, let us go! It is wedding time!" Mino said, leading the way.

I walked as slowly as I could down the isle. Even from the back of the ceremony, I could see Laurence looking down at the floor. I swallowed down tears and continued my ever so slow walk of doom. I could see Fenrir's eyes said the same thing as mine.

Our hearts belonged to someone else.

As I passed by Laurence, I couldn't help but let him know that I still had feelings for him in a small sign that wouldn't get us killed.

"I'm so sorry." I managed to whisper. I saw him tighten his fists.

"This isn't happening." He growled, biting his lip.

I stepped up onto the podium and basically ignored the entire ceremony. The only thing I could do was stare at Laurence as he swallowed back tears. I hated to see him do this. I hated to see myself marrying anyone but him.

"................. I do......" Prince Fenrir's cracking voice broke my thoughts as I looked up and saw his stare at the floor with glossy eyes.

As soon as it was time for us to share a kiss, Laurence lost it. 

A/N Sorry if I get this conversation thing wrong, but I'm at school and can't look up YouTube. Plus, I will never see that episode again. It's the episode where my Senpai was broken... *sniff* poor Laurence...

"HOW DARE YOU TRY AND TAKE HER AWAY FROM ME WITHOUT GOING THROUGH ME FIRST?!?!"

I knew that voice all too well. 

It was the one Garroth used that day in the forest... That day he betrayed us and became evil.

I turned and widened my eyes when I saw Laurence had broken free of his chains, and was a blazing black. His eyes went from the normal blue to a pure red, and I could feel the hatred in them as they looked around the room.

"He's a Shadow Knight!? Kill him, you fools! KILL HIM!!!" The King yelled. I swallowed back a cry of plead as the wolves surrounded Laurence.

It was a blur. All I know is that it ended with every single wolf on the ground, dead.

Laurence turned to the king, who started begging for mercy.

"No! Get away from me! Get away!" The King cried, walking backwards. Fenrir gasped from behind me when the King stepped off the cliff.

I didn't want to look over the cliff, because I already knew what happened.

Laurence turned to Fenrir and smirked.

"And now, for you." He said, taking out his sword and aiming it at Fenrir.

"NO! I never intended to marry her! Please, I have someone to take care of myself!" He yelled, walking backwards.

"Laurence, stop! He's not a bad person!" I yelled, stepping in front of him. Laurence frowned.

"I... Don't... Care." He said.

"STOP! The Laurence I know would never kill so senselessly!" I cried, grabbing his shoulders.

"Haha. You don't even know me." He said,  rolling his eyes. I gulped.

"You're wrong. I do know you." I said.

"No, you don't. This is just a part of me you've never seen. I will kill anyone who stands in my way of being with you. Now, move aside or I'll-"

I didn't let him finish. I didn't want Laurence to become one of them.

I grabbed his collar and smashed my lips into his, trying to get him to remember the times before all this happened.

Before Zane threatened the village

Before Garroth got stuck in that dimension

Before we were kidnapped

I pulled apart, tears streaming down my face as I buried my face into his chest. His head turned and his eyes widened as if he was examining the damage he had caused during his rampage.

"I'm so sorry, Laurence." I cried, apologizing for not being there for him when he needed it.

"N-No. It's me who should be sorry for letting you see that side of me. Melanie, you didn't have to-"

I knew he was referring to the kiss. He knew I did it out of force.

"I know I didn't. I just wanted the old Laurence back. I panicked, I didn't know what else to do!" I exclaimed, clinging onto him as I held on tightly to his jacket.

Laurence wrapped his arms around me, and slowly started to rock me.

"Shh, shh... I got you." He assured me, kissing the top of my forehead lightly.

A/N Hey guys! Yeah, I know switching Aphmau and Melanie around for a bit will come back to bite me in the butt, but guess what?!

I can't see MD or any other YouTube videos for the next... 6 days! So enjoy this while you can!

It's currently 7:19 am, and I supposed to be getting ready for school, buuuuut...
