Melanie's POV

It's him... I saw him... GARROTH!

Yes you doofus, I told you they were hiding something.

My thoughts were interrupted by Ales walking up to me.

"Are you ok? You seem shaken." Ales asked. I turned my head to face the portal.

It was broken.

I can open it again. I can see Garroth!

No you can't! The thing about opening different dimensions is that you can only open them once in your entire life! You wasted it!

"G-GARROTH!" I yelled running towards the portal. Sam grabbed my arms and stopped me.

"Sam, let go of me!" I yelled. Sam shook her head.

"Melanie I can't! I'm doing this for your own good!" She assured me. I let tears stream down my face as I saw the blue eyes staring into mine.

I was so close.

They lied to you.

They hated you. They didn't want you to reunite with Garroth because they wanted you to suffer.

They lied to me...

Yes.

They hated me...

Yes.

They don't want me to be happy.

"Melanie?" I looked up at Ales, who was tilting her head. I felt something inside me snap.

"Let's go." I said, walking through the two and heading towards where I remembered the boat was.

I boarded the boat, and was immediately ambushed into a hug.

"Hi Aphmau." I said, hugging her back.

"Where were you?!" Aphmau asked as she pulled away from me. I smiled.

"It's a long story--" I started to say until I turned and saw Laurence. He smirked when he saw me.

"Hey Melanie. Where have you been?" He asked, walking down to me. I sighed.

"Again, it's a long story. Anyways, I have news for you Laurence. I got a potion for your memories." I said, pulling out the glass bottle. Laurence's smile faded for a bit, but it quickly returned.

"Oh you do? Well then, am I allowed to drink it?" He asked. I nodded, handing it to him. Aphmau had wide eyes as he swallowed it, and she looked at me.

It's fake I mouthed. Aphmau frowned, giving me a look that told me she wanted to talk later. Then, she went downstairs into the bottom deck.

Laurence fell to the ground, his body limp. I gasped, but remembered that he would be unconscious while the potion's effects went into works. I turned and headed towards Katelyn and Aaron so I could say hello.

The boat went into sail, and I looked around for Ales. Laurence would be waking up soon, and he would have false memories of Ales being his lover. I found her... In a situation.

Ales and a man with white hair were hugging, and she seemed to be enjoying it. I cleared my throat, causing Ales to pull away from the man. She blushed when she saw me.

"Oh, hi Melanie! This is Travis. Travis, this is Melanie." Ales said. Travis smiled, waving. He had white hair and green eyes.

That's when it hit me.

She loves this man.

She does?!

Kill him. He will interfere.

I will not kill him! Ales must be saying goodbye.

Do something, then. Tell Travis that Ales is to be with Laurence.

Why?

That way, he knows.

"Ales, Laurence will be waking up soon. He will have his memories back too." I said. Ales' expression went from joy to sadness, her face falling as her eyes showed depression.

"Oh yeah... I almost forgot." She said. Travis raised an eyebrow.

"Is something wrong?" He asked. Ales drew in a shaky breath.

"Y-Yes. Everything is fine. I just... Have to go make sure my boyfriend is alright." She said. Travis' jaw dropped, and he said nothing. Ales wiped her eyes before going up to the deck.

I can't believe you did it!

What do you mean?

You used darkness!

I DID WHAT?!

You broke Ales and Travis' hearts. That's darker then anything you've done so far.

WHAT DO YOU MEAN?!?!

A broken heart isn't something to laugh about, Melanie. Now, I'm more powerful.

I HATE YOU.

And I hate you. So we're even.

I was slammed against a wall, and before I could comprehend what was happening, someone slapped my face hard.

"WHAT DID YOU DO WITH ALES?!" Sam. She was glaring at me. I frowned.

"What do you mean?" I asked, struggling against her grip. Sam's glare didn't break from my eyes.

"You did something with Ales. She's heartbroken, and waiting for Laurence to wake up. What did you do?" She asked.

I pushed her off and used my powers to pin her to the wall.

"Listen. I used her DNA to give Laurence the fake memories. When he wakes up, he'll think Ales was his lover." I explained. Sam's eyes widened.

"You didn't." She croaked. I smirked slightly, liking the sound of her being hurt.

"I did. What's the big deal?" I asked. Sam bit her lip.

"Nothing. It's just... Travis was the only person she loved. She had never experienced down it before, aside from Drake... I can't believe you took that from her." Sam said. I opened my mouth to protest, but Sam interrupted me.

"You're different. You've changed. You're dark." She spat.

I let her go, and she scrambled to the upper deck. I followed after her, and saw Laurence rub his eyes as he sat up. He looked at Ales and grinned, and Ales faked a smile.

As he cupped her chin and connected her lips to his, I felt a tinge of jealousy overcome me. I turned and saw Travis staring at the two, a sadness over passing his face. I felt guilty. 

After Ales and Laurence pulled away, I left, passing by Sam on my way.

She's right... I'm dark...

And doesn't it feel great?

Images of Ales' heart broken, Sam's anger, and Travis' sadness replayed in my head.

And it made me smirk.
