For a girl of twelve

And for two children of

Four

We where strong.

We walked a long ways before

Daniela

The girl

Had to use the restroom.

She went a behind a tree,

With my close watch.

And then I made

Daniel drink

The boy

And then we walked again,

Until they started to complain

About hunger.

I picked Daniel

Up,

Rested him on my waist

And held Daniela by the hand.

Up head was a lot of

Green.

I lived in Florida

So where I imagined desert

Or cave,

Was forest

Trees

Shrub

Swamp

Mud

And rain.

Daniela complains again

And I tell her to quite down

And we make our way across

Florida.
