Unstatisfied
For a while, I stayed at that
Prison.
I had once read of a story
About two people
Loving each other in a prison.
It ended so sweetly in my
Memory.
Daniela stirs in her sleep one night
And mutters
"...Momma...."
Daniel, who has her hand in his
Shifts as well,
And grunts softly.
I force myself to relax
And let my hands
Wander and touch their soft heads.
I am now their mother.
I am now my own mother.
I am not my own person anymore.
The prison is evacuated the next morning.
The left wing was breached.
They are not prepared to see
Those
Things again,
So I go with
Thomas
And we travel as a family
Onto the luxury cars.
We drove for exactly
75 minutes before we stopped.
The kids where calm.
They where used to being moved
Abruptly by now.
"Thomas. Where are we?"
I ask.
"Thomas?"
Is is staring out a window, and I'm not sure
What he's looking at.
I look and I'm captured.
It's a wall
Bigger then the ones at the Prison.
Way bigger.
They're light brow and thick.
I push up the kids to look
And they gasp in amazement.
"We're going to a Safer Safe House."
He says.
I see a few Things at the wall, clawing at the brown rock.
I pull the kids down and sit down.
"We must hurry."
I say.
The kids are restless.
They are nervous.
I am nervous.
"Something is going to happen.
Something bad."
The car drives in.
We are
'Safe'
Here.
