As they await the starlight and the silvery moon, the shadows of the trees dance upon the forest ground. They dapple the wood, the leaves flickering like candlelight, creating a new picture from moment to moment. Amid the perfume of the summer blooms, feeling the cool of the evening wash over them as the waves kiss sun-warmed sand, we savour this moment together. From neigbouring mountain comes the music of laughter, the promise of playfulness and new joys to brighten their dreams.

An elder individual stood in front of three children, breathing heavily while bending over their knees with their swords were left forgotten on the earthly soil. The youngest  one among the children was sitting on a large tree branch, swinging her legs slowly as she watches her comrades silently.

Months had passed during her recovery, her chestnut brown locks of hair had grow in length, reaching below her shoulders. Her long parted bangs were let loose, hanging above her eyes as her pale blue eyes narrowed, modestly downcast with them.

The sound of flipping pages were heard deep inside of the dark room as a small figure sat onto the floor, eyes scanning each pages in the search for a certain page.

Eyes were glowing in the dark room upon stopping at a page, a paper was attached to the page with the name of 'REINA' labeled to it. Fingers meeting the surface of the old paper, mumbling the message of the paper.

Dear, Reina

When you find this message, I'm sure you're confused to why I know your name. That's because I'm you, the you from the past. I've would have love to explain your situation right now but to avoid the tragedy from happening again, to avoid from falling into despair. I beg of you to forbid yourself from wielding a sword or any kind of weapons you can find, not just for your own sake but your family and everyone you have come to love for, will be in grave danger.

I know you won't care if I warn you this way but are you still willing to find out the truth about yourself? Are you sure that you still want to be the hero? Will you still sacrifice your own life to find them again? I know how much you want to find Kimiko and Chieko again as much as you want to find your family and those who are dearest to you but you must not because of that tragedy, I didn't have much of a choice but I hope you will understand soon enough when you get older.

❝I was the one who erased your memories...❞ Whispering the last sentence of the message as fingers paused at the edge of the paper and that's when she finally realized her situation just from a single message.

Truth to be told, she completely against the idea of being left in the dust. Weather she want to believe it or not, she know how much she cares about the people. If she failed to protect them in the past then why not get stronger in order to avoid it? That's what she thought at first when she finally began her training to become a demon slayer.

However, she just didn't expected to met with the cruel reality to arrive so soon...

A loud thud was heard as a sword had dropped harshly onto the ground, body feeling heavier as she fall on her knees, clenching her right hand with her good one as a intense pain spread through her veins.

It was like her whole body was being crushed, she want to scream and cry but she know she can't, biting her lower lips harshly preventing herself from making a noise that will alert them from their slumber.

❝So... This is what you meant by forbid me to wield a weapon... Huh I didn't know my old self would be so harsh on herself❞

Glancing over the abandoned sword, her eyes held a fierce flame within them as her determination didn't fade away.

❝Even so, adding a curse won't weight me down because it's can't stop me from trying!❞

Ever since that day, she gain more wounds the longer she tried. Because of this, both  Makomo and Sabito grow worried about her well being which made her feel guilty for lying to them about her situation. At least, she didn't have to hesitate to tell the truth to Giyuu and she was glad to know that he respected her decision by staying quiet about it but he did tried to convince her to stop at first.

And that's when he finally learned something; stubbornness can be a bothersome.

❝I have nothing more to teach you❞ The elder man stated as his students stared at him with wide eyes.

❝The rest is up to you weather or not, you can improve yourself into the next level!❞

She watched them slowly getting up, preparing themselves to the next stage as their teacher turned around, beginning to walk away ❝Follow me❞

Climbing up to the upper half of the mountain were the trio trailing behind the elder man as he lead the way to their destination, right behind them was the little girl jumping from tree to tree, catching up to them with the help of the tree branches.

Upon stopping at the sight of a large boulder, she move closer to the last tree to get a clearer view of the large obstacle. Three boulders were lined up in a straight line in the middle of the forest as her mouth almost dropped at the sight of it.

Below her were the very group of people that she have been following this whole time as the children stared at the obstacles in disbelief as their teacher continued ❝If you can slice those boulders, I will allow you three to enter the Final Selection❞

❝H-How are they going to do that?❞

Turning to glance at the trio from above ❝But then again... This could be a challenge for them❞ She just have to believe in her friends and hope for the best of them succeeding it.
