❝Worry about that later, we have a demon before us right now!❞ Sabito yelled, cutting the hand off that was aiming for the said girl causing Makomo to charge at the upcoming attacks of the hand demon ❝I can't get close enough...!❞

❛What should I do? I don't know what's this strange feeling inside me!?❜ The now-ginger headed panicked, glancing around the area in need of the god's explanation.

❝Stay behind me, Reina❞ Sabito stated as if it was an order, standing in front of the girl acting as a guard with his sword ready in hands ❝No, I'm fighting with you❞ Reina suddenly feeling stubborn, refuse his suggestion of protecting her.

He glance over his shoulders ❝It's too dangerous!❞ He know very well there is a high chance of being killed by the hand demon but even so, the determination in her now green eyes didn't faded ❝I can fight now. I don't know why...but I can!❞

❛Huh... For some reasons, she look different...❜ He thought he always have to be the one who have to protect her, both his other comrades were trained to be strong enough to protect themselves leaving only the youngest one who need protection the most among them.

Despite being a demon, Reina still show a lot of weaknesses in her movements and those can easily give the opponent an opening to take advantage of her but somewhere deep within his heart believe her for a moment ❝All right. I believe in you, Reina❞ He smiled.

Her eyes lighten up at his answer ❝Yes!❞

❛What?❜ The poor boy couldn't understand the whole system of "demons" become servants for humans when all of his years learned and trained himself to defeat them from killing humans but this? Unusual, it's unbelievable beyond his wild imagination.

Well... Guess the secret is out now. It was true, the thought of a girl who was saved by his best friend turned out to be a demon. The evil monster who devoured humans during the darkest of the night. So why? Why didn't she attack them when she has the opportunity to take their lives away?

Why did she have the eyes of an innocent young girl? Why did she have the looks of a broken person? Are demons supposed to be like this? Are they always being this hopeless and seems so lost?

At the call of his name, a young child with the unusual pink hair color resembles the bright color of a fresh peach as his gray eyes lighten up at the sight of his father calling for the young child.

The young boy immediately ran towards his father as the man quickly picking his son up from the ground, placing him on his shoulders as the boy's mother giggles at the sight of her husband getting along with their son, the only child of the family.

The father began to walk down the pathway along with the river as the clear blue water were flowing freely down the earth and continue its journey back to the sea, reunited with the rest of its own kind.

The mother soon joined in, walking up toward them side by side as they continued to head forward, following the path that leads to their home as the wind blows through their hair in the bluest of skies where the sun was shining upon them softly.

From the top, the young boy could see everything around the small family clearly. His gray eyes caught the sight of a young girl raising her little arms towards a man, seemingly asking for a ride from her father as he laugh at the child's adorable request, he immediately picked her up and carrying her within his arms.

A woman who's seemingly to be the mother smiled as the man carried the bag in his other hand while holding the child on the other one, walking together with a smile on their faces. The happiness in their eyes were warm and so full of brightness. This cause a smile to grow on the young boy's face.

His mother stopped, noticing the gaze from her son as her own violet orbs followed, leading to another small happy family walking passed by them. Her husband seem to notice his wife had stopped walking next to him, turning around to see her staring at the family behind them and this cause him to glance up to his son which lead him to find him doing the same thing as the mother.

❝They look happy, don't they?❞ The mother of the boy asked, turning to look up at her son as he nods slowly.

❝Well once you grow up to be a man someday, you will be happy just like your mother and I when we have you as our son. One day, you will find the one, son❞ His father chuckles as the child look at him appeared to be lost by his sentence ❝The one?❞

❝Yeah, the one who will change your heart, Sabito❞

❛The one who will change my heart...❜ He thought to himself as he slowly take a breath in, mentally preparing himself ❝Reina, attack him from the left while I take the right!❞

❝it's about time you say something about it!❞ She grinned almost childishly, charging towards the hand demon ❝Whirpool Burst!❞ She shouted as she spin herself with a body of rotating water produced by opposing currents surrounded her, heading toward her target.

❝Bulleye!❞

❝Nice work, Reina!❞ Taking the opportunity of the demon being caught off guard as he quickly went over the demon's hands cutting them off to create a path to escape from the demon's grip on them ❝Now it's our chance!❞ Makomo cries out, joining him along the way as the young demon was trailing behind them while holding hands with the other girl.

❝So that was your plan! Nice job being the leader of our little group!❞ Reina smiles at him as she finally catch up with them, still holding a tight grip on Asuga's hand as they ran through the forest.

Sabito nodded, turning his gaze to the path in front of them ❛Maybe...having her around wouldn't be so bad afterall...❜
