Here is a quick and very rough synopsis:

Ao and Sanli go to the Central Regions to find Kageyama. But when they reach there, they find a land torn by conflict and political strife. The two are drawn into a struggle for power between the three remaining gods: the Black Lord, the Red Duke, and the ever elusive White Queen. As the struggle gets more complex and bloody, Sanli begins to question what is worth fighting for.

Meanwhile in the Southern Kingdoms, Ermi finds herself a captive of the Red Duke and his family. Not content to be a political pawn, Ermi befriends the Red Duke's niece, and soon has the millennia old Dafeng wondering what it means to live so long.

Lots of romance and fun soul searching introspection!
