A day had gone by after the incident of the Kyubi attack, having the people hold a funeral for those people who gave up their lives in protecting the village, others pay respect to the innocents that had gotten involved during the attack.

Y/N was standing in front of the memorial stone, seeing the names of Minato and Kushina engraved on it sent him on a downward spiral of emotions, this was the first time since he had left his town that he had lost someone again. He hasn't been getting some rest as he was thinking about his closest friends. He was wearing his formal clothing to give respect to them.

On his hand, there was a bundle of black colored blanket on him, in it was the first born child of Minato and Kushina, he took a good look at him for a little bit as he saw that Naruto was sleeping peacefully in his arms, all warm and cozy.

Sarutobi: Y/N, do you have a moment?

He asked as Y/N didn't turned around, he kept on looking the memorial stone as he speaks.

Y/N: What is it Sarutobi?

Sarutobi: This is about Naruto.

Y/N: I'll take care of him, Minato and Kushina entrusted him upon me.

He said as he was about to head back home with Naruto in his arms, until Sarutobi placed his hand on his shoulder, making Y/N turned towards him, meeting his gaze on him.

Y/N: Did I made myself clear Sarutobi, or are you just deaf?

Ninja: You have no right to--

Sarutobi: It's fine, look Y/N, I know this may have come into a shock to you, we all do. But, you need to understand, with your condition and the whole sealing thing, I don't think you are quite suitable for being Naruto's guardian.

He said as this infuriates Y/N even more, not wanting to make a scene as he walked up to Sarutobi and looked at him dead straight in his eyes.

Y/N: Then what are you proposing? I will not let him be put up for adoption. The last thing I would do is end myself if that happens.

Sarutobi: I am considering to take care of him until he grows at the age of 4, I will put him in the orphanage once he is at the right age.

Y/N: Then what happens? I'll just rest up and do nothing until Naruto grows up without knowing where are his parents are? Why there is no one there for him when he need it the most? That his uncle vanished out in thin air?

Sarutobi: I'll give him his own place when no one wants to take him in when he is older. I just don't want you to get close to the Kyubi or endanger yourself with it.

Y/N: Then you can forget this conversation happened, because I am not accepting the idea of it.

He said as a figure started to walk towards Y/N, wearing his signature mask as he was dressed in black clothing as well.

Kakashi: Y/N, it's best to listen to the Hokage.

Y/N: What are you talking about? Sarutobi? Hokage again?

Sarutobi: Yes, due to the passing of the Fourth Hokage, I was entrusted to be Hokage once again. Y/N this isn't an order from me, this is a request.

He said as the H/C haired male couldn't believed it, he looked at Naruto for the moment as he was in no place to question the authority of the Hokage. He had no choice but to do what he had said and gave Naruto to Sarutobi.

Y/N: If anything bad happens to him, I'm going to hunt you down and I'll kill you myself.

He said as he didn't wait for his answer as he walked away, feeling the guilt of leaving Naruto to Sarutobi as he went back to his apartment.

Night time came and Y/N was already dressed in with the clothes he was wearing when he first came to the village. He decided to leave the village as he couldn't even bare to let his friend's promise be broken by him.

He grabbed his sword and put on his mask as he walked out of the apartment, closing the door behind him as he started to run. Not knowing where to go as he kept on running away from the village, trying to clear his mind from it as he run off into the night.

4 Years Later

A blond haired kid was walking around the village, having the signature look of his father and visible whiskers on his face, Naruto had grown into a fine kid.

Unfortunately, he is rather considered as an outcast by the village, shunned at what had happened after the Kyubi attacked. Knowing that the said demon jinchuriki was inside him, sealed away for the safety of Naruto.

Kid 1: Hey look, it's that demon kid again.

Kid 2: Let's get out of here before he kills us all.

The kids started to run, avoiding Naruto at the process as they run away. Naruto had always experienced this, everyone avoiding him, being shunned, and being treated differently. He let out a sigh as he walks to the playground.

Once he had arrived to the playground, he sat down on one of the swings as he looks down on the ground, holding the chains of the swing as he thinks.

Naruto: I wonder where did my parents go, I mean old man Sarutobi is nice and all, but why does everybody avoid me. I just wanted to make friends.

He said as he sulks, not knowing another figure had stepped in the playground, seeing the blond haired boy as the figure walks over to him.

???: Hey, you alright?

The figure asked as Naruto heard this and looked up, seeing a boy his age standing in front of him.

The boy has H/L H/C hair, a pair of E/C eyes, wearing a F/C shirt, black vested hoodie, shorts, and a pair of sandals.

Naruto: Yeah, what's it to you? You wanna make fun of me as well?

???: I didn't say that I want to make fun of you.

He said as he decided to take a sit on the other swing beside Naruto, looking at the distance for a little bit. Silence was in the air as Naruto decided to break it.

Naruto: A-Anyway... Who are you?

Y/N: I'm Y/N L/N, I just moved here recently, how about you?

Naruto: I'm Naruto Uzumaki, nice to meet ya.

He said as he grinned a little bit, seeing someone who isn't afraid of him brings a small smile to his face.

Y/N: It's nice to meet you Naruto. I just wanna asked, why are you here all alone?

He asked as Naruto looked down on the ground, remembering the reason why.

Naruto: It's just that, the villagers sees me someone who is different you know. It's like that they see me as a demon, well, most likely that reason.

He said as Y/N's blood begins to boil, knowing that the years he has been gone  was the worse for Naruto's end. He remained quiet as he didn't want to notice Naruto about his story. Once he was done, Naruto looked at him for a moment.

Y/N: Sorry to hear about that. I bet it's always been hard to be on the bad side of things.

Naruto: Tell me about it. Anyways enough about me, what's your story?

He asked as Y/N looked at the now setting sun, he was relieved that he was saved by it as he stood up.

Y/N: I'll tell you some other day, it's getting late.

He said as Naruto was a little sad about this, standing up as well as he looks at Y/N. Y/N said his goodbye as he walked away.

Naruto: Y/N!

The blond haired kid yelled as this caught Y/N's attention.

Naruto: Would you... Want to be my friend?

He said as he waited for his answer, knowing that this wouldn't work as he prepares for the worst.

Y/N: Sure! I'll see you tomorrow Naruto.

He yelled back as he flashed a small smile, putting his hands on the pocket of his hoodie as Naruto smiled back, nodding a little bit as he went back to the orphanage, leaving Y/N walking towards his old apartment.

"I promise to carry on their last request, I'll go even to great lengths just to guide you."
