Daryl | Judas [AU]
[This was heavily inspired by Judas by Lady Gaga during a nostalgic musical rampage! Finally some inspiration! This is set in the normal world with no brain eating zombies! Enjoy!! ]
Merle looked at Daryl as the stumbled up to the large porch together. Daryl wore a dusty leather jacket in an attempt to look far more intimidating than he was in his brothers shadow. Merle wore his usual, a shirt and a canvas vest.
Merle was involved in something big, bigger than just dealing drugs. His usual dealer was beaten and a message delivered to Merle to come to this address, the paper still in his pocket.
Daryl was rather unsure as to why his brother had dragged him here as well, but nevertheless, Merle stressed it was important.
He knocked on the door, loud and authority demanding, but not out of station for his line of work.
For a short time, there was nothing until the door opened, revealing two, large, built men. They starred down at Merle and Daryl, reminding them of their stations.
Despite what Merle thought, he was not top of the food chain by any means, and these men were reminding him how easily he could be chewed up and spat back out.
Daryl looked the men up and down as they did him before they stepped aside and let the two men in.
The two brothers followed the men down a small hallway, the house smelling of chemicals and unearthly things - something Merle was accustomed to.
Then they turned, into a rather large lounge room.
Sitting in their, to their surprise were 3 men stood around the room, smoke erupting from their hands. With their back to the brothers, was a long haired accomplice. "Well, are you just going to stand there all day?" The person spoke, it was a female voice, but she seemed strong, firm. Clearly the ring leader in this.
One of the men that escorted the brothers nudged them forward into the room. The pair stood next to a small couch, one which was already occupied, and the owner was starring at them both with a sinister smirk.
"Sit, he doesn't bite, aleast not all the time" You could hear the smirk in her voice as the sound of the flint as she lit a cigarette and inhaled the first drag of smoke, the nicotine immediately swimming into her blood stream.
The boys looked at the women with Y/H/C and sun kissed Georgian skin. Her skin was cracked in some areas and faint bruises were visible but they seemed to be causing no pain.
After inhaling another drag, she looked at the brothers, her legs crossed and arms spread over the back of the couch. "You must be wondering what you're doing here and where Jevan is, no?"
Merle shrugged, "I wasn't sweating it, sugar" He smirked slightly, copying her mannerisms.
One corner of her lip curled into a smirk, "No? Then may I ask why you saw fit to bring your brother?" She asked with a clear motive.
Merle ignored her question which sounded less and less like a question the more he replayed it in his head. "Can't invite me to a party and not offer me a drink, that's bad hosting" Daryl expected Merles sarcastic comment to upset or annoy her but if anything, she seemed amused by him.
"Of course, Tyler-" She jerked her head over to another room and soon after a man headed there, disappearing behind a small curtain. "I know your names but you don't know mine, my name is Y/N, and I run this little gang" She chuckled, gesturing to the house around her as well as the people in the room.
"I own everything here, including the men, which includes the pair of you" Her face was no longer an amused smirk, it was now serious as she leaned forward and stubbed out her cigarette in the Ash tray.
The man with the drinks came back in, two small glasses of whiskey as far as Daryl could tell, his suspicion was correct when he took a sip and the harsh liquid scratched at his throat.
Merle took a swig and spoke again, "Usually, I'd be flattered, sweetheart, but unfortunately, you're not my type"
She laughed out loud in amusement, "How noble," Her face then turned serious, "But I assure you this isn't a joke. In usual circumstances, you'd end up like your friend Jevan. In a ditch. But there aren't usual circumstances, you have contacts. Contacts I need"
Merle nodded, "Sounds like you need something from me, not the other way round, honey"
Y/N stood from the couch and and circled it before bending over on the back, leaning over at the boys. "I don't think you know how this works, I'm offering you a way up the food chain, more money.. - More drugs, I would not be so quick to disagree with me" Her voice was loud and strong as Merle stood, Daryl following.
Merle and Y/N approached each other, Merle standing tall the same as Y/N who also held a smirk on her face.
"Listen, Princess, I ain't interested--" Merle began until Daryl nudged him.
"No, you listen to me, I run the drugs coming in and out of this little town, you want something? You help me. Understand?" She snarled, her face rivaling his. "This will benefit you greatly, you don't have to be the bottom feeder anymore,"
Her case was tempting Merle and it was clear, eventually he gave in, the promise of drugs and money just too much for him. "Great, I'd keep that motorbike of yours handy, you might need it" Y/N whispered to Daryl who stood at his brothers side.
After small talk about the operation she ran and the kind of business she was in, Merle and Daryl began to leave, "Oh but Merle, don't cross me, less you want to end up face down in a ditch like your friend"
[Thought I'd give something different a try, the woman in control, I like it, part 2 coming]
