Season 6 Part 3

Episode 9

We were practically invisible to the walkers. I'm not going to lie I was scared, but being scared can also be a way to motivate you to keep going. As long as no one talked or it didn't rain, we were going to be okay. Rick pulled us aside and said this time, we're going to the cars to get away then we'd come back. Gabriel volunteered to take Judith to the church and Rick agreed. Jesse wanted Sam to go too, but he insisted he stayed to make it through, so she agreed. We kept going and we held hands again. I was in between Jesse and Carl again.

Soon, it was night and we were still trying to make it to the cars. Then Sam started freaking out. Jesse tried to get him to move, but he wasn't doing anything. Then walkers came and ate him alive. Then it happened to Jesse since she screamed. I was still holding onto her and she wouldn't let go. I got Rick to help me and he chopped her arm off. Then Ron pulled a gun out and when he fired, Michonne stabbed him and he was eaten. When I looked at Carl, his right eye was bleeding and he passed out. I cried as he fell. Then Rick grabbed him and ran to the infirmary as Michonne and I killed as many walkers as we could. I was upset, mad, hysterical, all emotions were going through me as I slaughtered all the walkers. We finally made it and Denise got to work.

"Jamie, come here. You can save him," she said.

I didn't hesitate. I took the bedsheet off of me and started to help her remove the bullet the best I could while Rick went outside. Michonne did too and so did the others. Denise and I kept working as hard as we could to save Carl. I had both of our keychains in my pocket to motivate me even more. I cleaned the wound thoroughly to make sure it wouldn't get worse as Denise put an IV in him. I patched his eye up and we put him on one of the beds. He was still unconscious but stable.

"Baby, stay with me, okay? You promised I wouldn't lose you, so please prove it. I am never losing you again," I said and kissed his forehead.

I looked out the window to see all of Alexandria fighting the walkers. They were standing together until finally all the walkers were dead.

Daybreak came and everyone waited outside Carl's room except for me and Rick. We held his hands. Rick told him how he was wrong about Alexandria. He thought they were weak, but they came together and fought to keep Alexandria alive. I cried as he mentioned the hospital. I held my other hand out for him and he held it. He said how he wanted to show Carl the world, but we needed him to wake up. Then we felt his hands gently tighten around ours and he came to. We smiled and hugged him. After a while, Rick gave us some time alone.

"You okay?" I asked.

"Yeah. Do you remember when you first became a nurse here and I said I would injure myself everyday just to see you? This wasn't what I had in mind," he joked.

I giggled through tears then said, "I'm just glad you're here."

"I am too. I told you you wouldn't lose me," he replied.

"Yeah, you did. And I'm very grateful for it," I responded.

"I know you saved my life. I know Denise did too, but who else would put their heart and soul into something they love to do for someone they love?" he mentioned.

I chuckled and said, "Well, you know me. I wanted to take your place the whole time, to take the pain away."

"You did. I told you that I trust you with my life, and you proved me right," he pointed out.

"By the way, I held onto this along with mine to motivate myself to save you," I replied, handing him his keychain that had my name on it.

He chuckled then told me, "I love you."

"I love you too," I said.

We kissed and it felt like forever since we did. I gently kissed where he was shot and told him he had visitors and that I would be back to check on him. I opened the door and everyone came in. I'm so glad to have my sheriff back.

Episode 10

I just got done putting a new bandage on Carl when Rick and Michonne called for him. They said they needed to change it, but I told them I did, but the toothpaste was out. Rick and Daryl are going out on a run, so hopefully he'd get it. Carl and I went out for a while.

"You good?" I asked.

"Yeah. Just trying to adjust to this," he answered, pointing to the bandage.

"I understand. I've had to adjust to some things too. After I had my accident, I had to deal with my ankle or heel giving way a lot. Then after the hospital, it hurt to walk, but when Rick and I first met Morgan, it got better and now it doesn't bother me anymore," I explained.

"We've been through life-threatening situations and cheated death. You really are a Grimes," he said.

I chuckled and kissed his cheek. We went out with Enid for a while to see what we could find. We sat in front of a tree to read and eat candy until we heard a noise. Carl got his gun ready and I got my machete, but it was just Michonne and Spencer. Then Enid said she didn't want to come out here anymore, so we packed up and headed back. When we found a walker, Carl went to go kill it. He tried to lure it over, but he wouldn't kill it. Enid wanted to, but I blocked her. So she ran back towards home as we looked at this walker.

"I agree with you, but can you tell me why we're not?" I asked.

"It wouldn't be right. Someone who had some type of connection with them when they were alive should put them down. Like to set them free," he answered.

"Like Rick did with Sophia? Or more like what you wanted to do for her?" I mentioned.

"Yeah. Come on. Let's head back," he said, holding his hand out.

I took it and we walked back. That night we hung out with Judith. He pointed out the North Star to her. Michonne came and told us she saw us outside. We told her why we didn't kill the walker and Carl said that he'd do it for her and I nodded my head to agree. We hugged her and went back inside. Michonne stayed downstairs while Carl and I put Judith to bed. Carl and I went to our room. When I was getting into my pjs, Carl was removing his shirt. I walked up to him and helped him take it off. He looked at me and caressed my cheek as I held his elbows in my hands. We kissed as we walked to bed. We finally laid down and we made out until we decided to go to bed.

Episode 11

We woke up to hearing someone inside. Carl came with a gun and pointed it at this guy's head. When Rick and Michonne came out, they were covered in bedsheets or just getting dressed in front of us. We all knew what happened in there. This guy named Jesus told us he had a community that could work something out between us and them.

They were getting ready to go, so Carl and I helped put gas in the car. Rick came over and talked about what happened with him and Michonne. We were good and when Carl said he wasn't going and that a kid with a messed-up face wouldn't make the right impression, my heart sank a little. Rick gave us Judith and we went in the house.

"Why did you say that?" I asked.

"Say what?" he wondered.

"How a kid with a messed-up face wouldn't make the right impression," I said.

"Because it's true," he answered.

"Well, to me, you have the best face in the world. Before and after you got shot in the eye," I replied.

"Thanks, but let's not kid ourselves," he responded.

"Baby, you're still here. That's all that matters. You're still handsome to me and I want you to see what I see," I said, cupping his face.

He smiled and kissed me as he put his arms around my waist. When we parted, I looked at him and snuck his hat on my head. He smiled as I did so too.

"I love you," he said.

"I love you too. Always and forever," I responded.

Carl went to make lunch and I fed Judith. She needed a diaper change, so I changed her and then we ate lunch. It was kind of like a date night for me and him. We had a great time as we waited for Rick and the others to get back.

Episode 12

Rick called everyone to the church when they got back. They were going to take down Negan's base, whoever that was. A certain few were going, but Carl and I were staying.

I woke up the next morning, knowing that the others were gone, so I decided to make Carl and Judith breakfast. I kissed him and he did it back, but it only lasted a few seconds.

"Hey, beautiful," he said.

"Hey, handsome. I'm going downstairs to make breakfast. You can go back to sleep if you want. I just wanted to let you know so you didn't freak out when you saw I wasn't here," I explained.

"Okay. But if you burn anything, I'm gonna laugh," he teased.

"Haha," I responded, kissed him quickly, and added, "I'll be back."

I got up, got dressed, and went downstairs. I made eggs, bacon, and biscuits. I found some baby food, so I emptied the can in a bowl. I served two plates with our food on them and by that time, Carl came down with Judith.

"I didn't burn anything, so jokes on you," I smirked.

"Man. I was about to get my video camera," Carl replied sarcastically.

I giggled and we ate breakfast. Being a nurse wasn't the only thing I'm good at; I'm one great cook.

We finished and just spent the whole day together. Judith would get jealous if we kissed or cuddled in front of her, which made us laugh a little. Once the day was done, we put Judith in her crib, got in bed, and went to sleep. Today was a really good day, but I still wondered where the group was.
