Chapter 2 - A criminal without a care (pt 2)
2 minutes later . . . .
Aderson turned the keys and opened his front door, with both Robin and rain rushing in. Shaking his head at the unmannerly performance, he gripped onto the handle, closed the door behind him, and tossed the keys upon the oval shaped, glass table that sat in the middle of the ash-white sectional sofa of his modern style living room.
In no time, a showering sound came to his ears, but it wasn't the storm outside. Instead, it was Robin who'd taken over the shower. The thought of it made Aderson relieved, knowing that at least Robin was cleaned, since it was not an easy task to clean the house.
After slipping of his shoes, he heading straight towards the sofa, and dropped his figure unto it, letting out a relaxed breath. Within his comfort, he grabbed the thick brown, hardcover book that sat beside him, in the same position he left it before racing to pick up Robin.
Aderson then pried it open by the middle, where a black fabric bookmark indicated his last read. Continuing from there, he started to read up on the ancient pages that contained information about the supernatural events, and beings outside earth. That specific book also held rituals, spells, enchantments, formulas etc.
As he was about to loose himself once more within the read, what Aderson could hear at that minute was the doorbell who, sounded twice with a few seconds before the other. Before he could even wonder who was in front during this weather, Robin's figure flashed passed him.
"How do I look?" He questioned, hoping to get a positive reply.
"You look sharp." Aderson commented.
"But why?" He added, just before Robin opened the door, and revealed a young woman who appeared to in her late twenties.
Her black fine curly hair was set upon her back, as she wore an indigo, lilly patterned strapless dress that ended a only few inches below her knee. Matching with it was a pair of black flat sandals, that had white diamonds running along their straps. The young woman also wore bracelets and earnings, with all modeling the same shade of indigo. Her nails were nicely done to go with the look, all topped off with a bright humble smile, and a black handbag filled with interesting novels.
"That colour, brings out your eyes." Robin flirted at the sight of her.
"Thank you." The woman said with a cheeky blush.
"Robin," Aderson spoke from the sofa, grasping both their attention.
"She's innocent." He said with a serious tone, but as usual, Robin paid him no mind.
"Relax." Robin stated, reflecting the same energy.
"Come in" he granted the lady.
The remorseless vampire measured every inch of the her warm body, with just a few droplets of rain damping her skin. While closing the door, nothing but wicked thoughts and plans flowed through his mind, leaving Aderson worried about the young lady's future. He then grabbed Robin's arm and hauled him near, as he was about to follow her upstairs.
"What the hell are you doing?" He he said quietly.
"The obvious." Robin replied negatively.
"You have to stop this, and now." Aderson spoke.
"Then make me." Robin said through clenched teeth.
"This is serious. It is not right to just keep preying on innocent women like that." Aderson uttered, glaring at the woman as she headed upstairs.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" Robin whispered back in a louder tone, and forced his arm out of Aderson's grip.
"You, chose to go soft," he spoke with composure, glaring down at with an earnest face.
"Not me" he added before walking off to meet the girl.
"Well," Aderson sighed.
"I cannot blame you. It is my fault that you are in this position." He said to himself with disappointment.
With that, he went straight back to his reading, and as the hours went by, he kept on digging deeper into the book, hoping to find a solution on how to resurrect a celestial being. During that, Robin's room was silent. Although, laughter and splendid conversations were heard, but that was earlier.
Now, the place was ever so peaceful. Finally, after scrolling each page and reading through each chapter, he found it. Section five, chapter twenty two, page eight hundred and eleven, and it stated in big and bold, "rebirth."
"I, found it?" he whispered with disbelief, while running his palm up his forehead.
Still uncertain about his discovery, Aderson rose up with the book and held it open wide towards more light. He then scattered his sights across the first page, and sought out the words and sentences that had to do with the chapter's title. When he was done, he scrolled to the next page and did the same. With all adding up, concerning that one subject, it was official.
"Finally." Aderson gasped, with a growing smile on his face, and a near break of tears from his eyes.
"I found it" he said proudly.
"Robin! I–" he halted at the sound of a sudden cry.
"Of course." He sighed once again, knowing exactly who caused it.
After placing the bookmark in between the pages, Aderson slammed the book shut and marched upstairs towards Robin's bedroom. He swung opened the door, and was not surprised to see the dead corpse of a woman just laying around on the floor without a care in the world. The body seemed lifeless and cold, but not baldly injured though.
Aderson rose an eyebrow and glared at Robin who, in turn gazed at the woman, as he stood near her figure with both hands in his pocket, nodding his head at his good work.
"Oh she's sleeping by the way." Robin mentioned, when he noticed Aderson's disapproval.
"Are you serious?" Aderson said with a plain tone.
"Yes now help me dump the body." Robin said as he headed downstairs for the Sedan keys.
"But why dispose of her if she's asleep?" Aderson questioned.
''She'll have a better nap under water." Robin said from the distance, while giving a him a nod of confidence.
"You are indeed a mess." Aderson stated, finally learning that the old Robin he used to know years ago, was now conquered by a seductive bloodsucking carefree demon.
"Also congratulations!" Robin added.
"Yes thank you. It took me at least two years to find it." Aderson smiled as he met up with Robin who, had a large black garbage back in hand.
"Find what?" Robin questioned with a confused look.
"The resurrection section. To bring back Ava." Aderson spoke.
"Aren't you proud?" He added.
"Not actually, but yeah whatever." Robin said blankly, slaying Aderson's joyous spirit.
"Then, why were you congratulating me?" He questioned.
"Today will make it a ten years you haven't bitten anyone since we moved to earth." Robin grinned, and placed set his hand on Aderson's shoulder.
"You are now officially a useless demon" he stated.
"Excuse me?" Aderson pardoned.
"You, are the product of a vampire lord and a Goddess – but yet, you don't use your ability for anything" Robin shook his head, with his hands set upon his waist.
"I am disappointed."
"Well I'm sorry if I betrayed you in running down this evil road, but I will have you know that retiring from killing people was my decision." Aderson said boldly.
"Respect it" he added, tossing off Robin's hand.
"I don't have too." Robin laughed while strolling towards the door.
"It's not my fault you chose to go vegan"
"What?" Aderson said, feeling a bit offended.
"You heard me." Robin said from outside.
"Now show me how to start this thing."
