The Vortex. Everyone was told to stay on the government's good side. Otherwise they'd be put into the Vortex as an experiment. Nobody ever came back from the experiments. Nobody. I asked too many questions about the Vortex. That was how I got in that situation.

I'm Remix Brightstar, I'm 14 years old, and was currently on my way to the Vortex.

‘What is the Vortex anyway? Is it a man-made Black Hole? Is it a secret passageway to a soul eating demon? What is it!?’ Those thoughts drove me mad. So I asked. And earned myself a one way trip into it.
