Now You See Me

"Stay with her!" Alice yelled when Bella bolted from their obnoxious yellow stolen car.

Evie, one of the oldest looking Cullen's, pounced from the backseat as she disappeared before Alice's eyes. Alice smirked as the print of Evie sitting in the passenger seat vanished and a man ran into an unseen force making him check the air all around him.

Evie moved between the people celebrating a joyful parade and fun-filled day, easily keeping pace with Bella. The Swan girl was about to collapse tripping over her own two feet when Evie grabbed and righted her.

"Watch where you're going," Evie hissed in Bella's ear before shoving her forward.

Bella kept running, her attention on where the clocktower doors were opening revealing a shirtless grieving Edward. Evie was right behind the mortal, every instinct she had telling her to zoom up to Edward and kick him back into the shadows. Both girls moved forward Bella colliding with Edward sending him backwards into the darkness behind them. Evie slithered through the closing door before it closed, revealing herself to a now fearful Edward.

"Aunt Evie...." Edward began only to be silenced with a backhand.

"How dare you," the older of the two hissed, her golden eyes glowered with vexation. "Do you even understand the gravity of the situation our family is now in? Or that Esme is now more upset than when you left?"

Before Edward could answer, even before he could express his shame, or before Evie could rip his arm from it's socket and beat him over the head with it, the sound of approaching footsteps on stairs and the creaking of an old metal gate opening startled the vampires. Both Evie and Edward shared a look before Evie turned invisible once more.

She drifted behind Edward letting his scent mask her sweeter one as two Volturi guards came close, pulling their hoods down revealing their faces. Her skin crawled as they came to a stop, their ever searching eyes scanning both her "nephew" and his human lover. She detested the impending sense of doom that made it's home in her heart. Edward subtly reached back giving her hand a reassuring squeeze.

The group moved corridors, Evie making sure to not bump into none of the guards in front or beside her as they walked. Throughout the journey she had made it a point to devise the best plan of action in case everything turned into a bigger shit show than it already was.

Her biggest concern not being Jane or Alec, but to get rid of Demetri and then Felix in order give her family a chance to run. As she plotted her battle plan she failed to pay attention to Aro's words and his cue to Felix. She had heard Bella's gasp and turned just in time to see Edward moving in the prized fighters direction.

Edward was fast, but Evie was faster flipping Bella over her shoulder and shoving her to Edward before launching herself at Felix. The guard, to say the least, was bewildered by the human flipping in the air away from him before the wind was knocked out of his lungs as he crashed into the floor. Felix shook his daze off with a huff seeing the now visible woman who stared down at him as one would a troublesome stain.

Evie smirked as Felix got over his initial shock and went to grab her. If there was anything Evie had learned over her lifetime of sparing with her nephews, especially Emmett, it was that the more physically strong the immortal was the slower they were. She cloaked herself once more in invisibility, making it that much harder for Felix to land a blow and give herself an advantage. The fighter swung wildly and violently, hoping at least one of his punches would land yet only thing he managed to do was paint himself as a fool. Evie dodged each blow managing to land quick jabs to his body and sending him flying back into a marble bench with a swift quick.

Evie revealed herself once more, her attention pulled to the tracker with his hand around her favored nieces throat. She let out an inhumane growl, her eyes never leaving the now fearful Demetri. She ran, her movements too fast to be caught by the human eye, her arm drawn back to deliver one swift blow that would sever Demetri's head from his body. Evie had failed to see Felix get back onto his feet, along haste to her.

In one swift yet graceful move his arm was around Evie's waist in a bone crushing hold, slamming her into the earth with a loud audible crack. Thin cracks formed along Evie's high cheekbones, her golden eyes unfocused her mind reeling. She was hardly aware as Felix lifted her once more, her hands working on automatic throwing punch after punch, a string of profanity leaving her lips with each strike. Felix had wrapped his other hand around Evie's shoulder, sending her flying over his shoulder and into the marble stairs breaking the three steps before securing her head into what would be the fatal blow for her.

Evie snarled, throwing an elbow back into his groin drawing a pained roar and him releasing her instantly. She delivered an uppercut that Jasper would marvel at before jumping onto Felix's back and wrapping her arms around his head pulling backwards with all her might.

She hissed as the cracks began to form along his neck, reading the break that was to follow. Evie readied herself to give one final tug when hot searing white pain courses through her body. Words could not begin to describe the pain she felt in that instance her howl of pain making her forget about her task. She let go of Felix's head dropping to the ground, screaming in endless agony before all went black and numbness took over.
