Hayley POV

I was in pain, no matter how many painkillers they gave me, it never seemed to work. But nothing could compare to the emotional pain I was feeling, I had let my parents down and even Katsuki. He hadn't even come to see me, his definitely disappointed...

Mercury... Why Does my memory seem fuzzy about him

"That bastard, he used his quirk on me, I knew he would and yet I let my guard down..."

"Great... now I'm talking to myself, yeah, totally sane."

I heard the door creek open and couldn't care to look... Probably Izuku coming in with more injuries...

Normal POV

Hayley's back was turned to the door as the figure approached. A shadow fell over her covered body and slowly placed their hands over her shoulder...

"Poor little Song bird... seems like your wings have been clipped"

Hayley was paralyzed as she came to what was happening. Mercury had his hands around her throat squeezing so that she couldn't breath, "You know, I always knew you'd follow the hero path, just like that idiot brother of yours." 

Hayley tried to move her limbs but nothing would respond to her demands. Mercury was straddling her and kept squeezing at her throat, "You know, I should have just let you tell those idiotic friends of yours who I really was, but then, where would the fun in that be? That's why I altered your thoughts with my illusion quirk. If I hadn't done that then maybe we wouldn't have been here, with me trying to kill you." Mercury's evil grin was fading from Hayley's sight as her eyes forced themselves closed from lack of oxygen. "You know, your smarter than you look, You need to stay out of other's business or else.." Mercury dragged his nose against her cheek, "You spark the interest of those who weren't looking for fire." Hayley rocked her body to throw him off, but she couldn't...

C'mon Hal, you've been in worse situations! Try to heat your body up!

"You've been a Thorn in my side since-"

The pleasure was gone, and so was Mercury?

Hayley sat up as she gasped for air. Frantically searching the room she found Mercury up against the wall by Katsuki

"You have some damn nerve touching her!" Katsuki snarled, Kirishima and Sero stood behind him nodding, "Tape him up duck face!" Jake's voice ordered, Sero slumped, "That's not my name..."

"Big Brother?" Hayley was confused as she watched the scene play out before her.

Katsuki had a hand on Mercury's throat while the other sparked with explosions while Kirishima stood protectively before Hayley and then Finally Jake stalked towards Mercury, "You have a lot of nerve showing up in public like this." Jake's arm warped into a dragon claw, "I had them take care of you, but this time, No one is here to stop me from ripping your throat open." Jake and Katsuki had the same glare. Mercury had hurt someone they both dearly cared about, "Tch, your always in the way Dragon boy, one day you won't be able to save her... they'll come fore her!" Mercury closed his eyes as he activated his illusion quirk

"I'll kill- wait, what the hell?!" Mercury felt his quirk unresponsive.

Jake's arm returned to normal and Katsuki's explosions disappeared for a brief moment.

"Stand Down Strom, We'll take it from here." Aizawa spoke as he walked in followed by Mic, Thomas and Diane.

"Mom?" Hayley's voice croaked, Diane's eyes fell on Hayley's now bruised throat and blood shot eyes, "That monster." Diane rushed to her daughter and pulled her close, "I'm so sorry honey." Hayley seemed so confused but the moment Aizawa looked over at her, it cancelled out Mercury's illusion quirk on her.

                                   Flash Back

Hayley POV

In my second year of training with my grandfather, after we had met All might. Training got harsh, Grandfather had received word of  a group of villains that planned to capture him for some information, they had even planned to use me as a target. Though months had passed and there were no incidents, we lived peacefully with the monks until one day, I met him. His Silver hair and narrowed eyes caught my attention, Mercury...

The two of us seemed to have a small connection that was until We found out that he was stealing from the villagers and harming others. The monks and granfather saw his quirks potential and decided to take him in, but I never had a good feeling, I was suspicious. 

He had too many questions about my quirk and my family, he claimed to be from America where his uncle had an agency and could get me to be an intern there. But I didn't bite.

"He's up to something... I know you like him but his quirk makes me feel funny and uneasy." I said to my grandfather as we meditated, "You don't need to worry, I have my eye on him." My grandfather had assured me countless times. 

It wasn't until I found the true reason for him being so nosey, 

"I haven't been able to locate much information regarding the Q-serum..." I had overheard him talking to someone on the phone, I attacked without hesitation.

We fought for hours, but i failed... I wasn't strong enough...

 I was paralyzed ans he laid on top of me. His lip was bust open and I broke his leg, "You little bitch, you've been a thorn in my side since I got here, but you're such a pretty rose, you've just bloomed at the wrong time..." Mercury hissed as he held a blade against my throat, "Tell me Darling, any last words before I kill you and your pathetic family?" Somehow, I had found  the strength to scream one last screech, "yeah, how about we kiss and make up?" I gave a sly smile. Mercury was amused and leaned down to whisper in my ear, I sucked up as much air as I could before I let it all out.

GGGGGEEEEEEETTTTTTOOOOFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In the end, Mercury had caused fear in my family. People knew about the serum, and they knew it work. They wanted it....

Jake and a friend of his had him locked in prison near the states, the milatary asured my family that we would never hear or see him again, but word of his escape seemed unimportant to me at the time since I never knew...

until

I heard stories that Mercury had escaped or died but I moved on with my life, I couldn't let this near death experience scare me, but used it to strengthen me.

If he was coming after me, I'd be ready

Normal POV

Hayley held her head as all the memories came rushing back, "You're such a monster..." Hayley quivered as she stared at Mercury but he grinned, "Only the best are darl-"

SMACK

Katsuki had slammed Mercury against the wall causing him to pass out, "shut up" Hayley stared at Mercury's form as they tied him up.

Mercury was escorted out by Aizawa, "I need you all to follow me, Bakugou, stay with miss Storm." Diane gave her daughter a kiss and then ruffled Katsuki's hair, "Thank you Katsuki" Diane whispered before shutting the door behind her.

Hayley clenched the covers in her fists, If he's back, then it means they'll be after us... me

"Oi, blondie?" Katsuki's voice was softer than normal, "Y-yeah?" Hayley slightly shook as she stared into his eyes, "He won't ever touch you again, you hear me?" Katsuki seethed as he gazed towards the door. Hayley smiled, "Thank you Katsuki, you're always there to save me, aren't you." Hayley noticed how Katsuki was glaring at the floor avoiding her eye contact, "What's the matter?" Katsuki shook his head before moving closer, "Quit crying idiot..." Katsuki wiped the tears that were streaming down Hayley's cheeks. After everything, she hadn't even realised it, "Oh, I'm sorry I-" Hayley's eyes met Katsuki's red eyes, "Don't, just get some damn rest so that you can come cheer me on in the festival." Hayley raised her brow, "I want the whole damn stadium to hear you scream my name." Katsuki grinned proudly until his face fell blank,

 "Wait.. that didn't sound ri-"

Hayley tossed a pillow in his face, "You idiot!"

The 1 -1 battles had progressed quiet quickly. a few of the members were knocked ouyt and the final was betwen Katsuki and Shoto. Katsuki had told her, she had to be there and who was Hayley to miss out on the idiot getting his ass frozen?

Izuku and Ururaka had walked Hayley from the room to the stands, "Hey, Izuku, have you seen my mother by any chance?" Hayley sat in the wheel chair as he friend rolled her down the hall, "Not since they left with that Mercury guy." Izuku shrugged, "Hurry up guys! You're gonna miss the fight!" Kirishima called.

Hayley's classmates surrounded her as she greeted them with her care free smile, "Hey, where's Iida?" Izuku faced Sero, "He had a family matter that came up." Hayley's eyes widened, "I hope all is okay..." Izuku agreed at his friends statement.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the round you've all been waiting for!

It's finally the last battle of U.A's sport festival!

Katsuki Bakugou vs Shoto Todoroki!

Hayley looked over to the box where her uncle was, "I wonder where-"

"Has the fight started!?" Jake gasped as he rushed into class 1A's stand, 

"Hey Big Brother!" Jake engulfed his sister in his arms, "I'm sorry that I couldn't stay around, but I'll update you and the Bakugou's at dinner tonight." Jake stared down at the battle field. Hayley felt uneasy but nodded anyway, "You did great Hal, I saw the whole fight on my way here." Jake smirked as he watched Katsuki blast Shoto's ice, "You were watching me?" Hayley's eye fell on her brothers, "Yeah, you and Katsuki are going to be great heroes, but I can still whoop your asses" Hayley's smirk fell, "Tch, whatever..." Jake smirked, "You've definitely been hanging around him a lot, haven't you? You're even starting to scowl like him." Jake teased. Hayley's face burst into a blush as she gasped, "Am not! I've always been like this, you've just forgotten since we haven't seen each other in 3 years!" Hayley crossed her arms, "Well, I can tell one thing's for sure, you two are growing closer by the day... I'm glad you two are friends again." Jake smiled. Hayley brushed off her brother as she focused as the fight started.

Shoto didn't hesitate to use his ice, in the blink of an eye the stage was covered and Katsuki was forced to blast away the ice that was trying to encase him. There was silence as the ice covered half the stadium. Hayley felt her breath hitch as there was no sign of Katsuki.

"Come on Katsuki... you can do this... Please, you promised!" Hayley whispered.

Suddenly, explosions were banging through the ice and within seconds, Katsuki blasted through and headed straight for Shoto, at the last minute, Katsuki dodge an attack and swung over Shoto preparing to throw him over and out of bounds.

"Hey... I know that move!" Jake gasped then looked over at his sister, "I taught you that?" Hayley grinned, "Katsuki and I spent time training together, we learnt a lot." 

The battle lasted for another few minutes before both boys began losing themselves, Katsuki was charging at Shoto with a special move and Shoto was preparing one of his own.

"TODOROKI! DON'T LOSE! DO YOUR BEST!" Izuku yelled from the stands causing everyone to jump. Hayley watched as Katsuki kept running towards Shoto, 

"COME ON KATSUKI! YOU CAN DO THIS!" Hayley yelled to and then looked over at Shoto, "YOU CAN BE A HERO SHOTO! USE YOU'RE QUIRKS!!!"

Hayley felt her eyes burn slightly from the tears that were forming, "Hayley-chan, your bandgae, it needs changing." Kirishima pointed to the crimson soaked bandaged, "No! Not until the fight is over, I promised him I'd watch him!" Hayley gripped the railing, "Come on Katsuki!"

Shoto's fire burst from his left side and Katsuki was going to action his Howitzer Impact, the crowd felt the rush of power from the two students and Hayley's gasped as she watch Shoto kill his flames, "His going to get himself killed!" Mina panicked.

There was a large explosion against the ice which caused a lot of steam to fill out in the air. No one could see anything on the battlefield, Hayley squinted her eyes as she tried to see her friends. 

Silence...

"N-no Katsuki... Please be okay?"

When the steam cleared Shoto was found laying unconscious against the pile of ice and Katsuki on the floor below some rubble.

"Oi! You killed your flames before I hit you!" Katsuki growled, but his eyes widened when there was no movement coming from Shoto, "Oi!"

Katsuki ran towards Shoto in a small panick, "Oi! Stop screwing around!" Hayley stood and leaned over the railing, "To get first place like this..."  Hayley heard as Katsuki's voice broke, "Like this it's..." Katsuki collapsed from Midnight's quirk.

"Todoroki is out of bounds, which means, Bakugou wins!"
