The line up for the opponents lit up the screen. Hayley felt a bit upset after how Katuki had reacted about her asking him to join Friday's movies. The thoughts were rushing through her head so much that she didn't notice the large figure she stumbled into, "Oh my, I am so sorry." Hayley bowed as she raised to meet the blazing eyes of Endeavour. Hayley felt her heart in her throat as the man turned towards her, "Is this one of your classmates Shoto?" Hayley's eyes met the Shoto's bi-coloured eyes, Todoroki rushed towards Hayley grasping her arm, "We have to prepare for our battles" Todoroki suddenly pulled Hayley away, "Uhm, Todoroki, I need to go that way an-"

"Please just follow me..." Hayley heard the seriousness in his voice and nodded her head.

Hayley leaned against the wall beside Todoroki. The boy was silent but she could sense a lot of anger radiating off of him, "Are you okay?" Hayley watched as the boy tensed at her voice, "You understand, don't you?" Todoroki clenched his left hand, "The struggles of either being in their shadows or in the limelight..." Hayley knew he was referring to their parents, "Yeah, I guess you could say that..." Todoroki stood and faced Hayley, "I want to prove to myself and to Him that I can win this without his quirk. I don't need his fire..." Hayley smiled at the boy, "I'm going to tell you something a good friend told me when I felt a bit uneasy about having my mothers quirk... It's your quirk, whether it is passed down, the same as parents or even mutated, in the end, it is your quirk, and yours alone." Hayley placed her hand on Todoroki's left shoulder and smiled, "Yes your father has the fire quirk but you have it too, you are not Enji Todoroki, you are Shoto Todoroki and people will remember you for YOU when you accept the quirk as your own, don't forget that Todoroki." Hayley sighed in relief when he gave her a tiny smile. "I take it that the friend who told you this, is perhaps a mutual friend of ours?" The boy smiled, "Izuku Midyoria, the one and only." Hayley grinned, "Come on Todoroki, we better get ready!"

"Shoto... Call me Shoto..." 

Hayley nodded, "Okay then Shoto, let's go kick some butt!"

Katsuki stalked down the halls with his hands in his pockets. He had overheard Todoroki and Hayley's discussion and felt her words bring more meaning than they should. There was a flash of silver that rushed into Katsuki, "OI! Watch it!" The other student stood and dusted himself off, "What yourself you peasant..." Katsuki's eyes blanked out, 

"THE FUCK YOU SAY!?"

"Oh, your her friend, pleasure to me you Bakugou, names Mercury." The boy gestured to himself, "I don't give a flying fu-"

"Hey, guys what's going on- WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING HERE!?!?" Hayley charged at the boy but was held back by Shoto, "HIS MINE BLONDIE!!

"I HAVE A SCORE TO SETTLE WITH THIS ASS!!" Hayley tried to wiggle out of Shoto's hold

"WELL GET IN LINE!"

"Is the yelling really necessary?" Shoto mumbled behind Hayley.

"Still as Fiesty as ever I see, how have you been darling?" Mercury smirked at Hayley

"DARLING!?" Katsuki and Hayley barked.

"If you'll excuse me, I will be seeing you in the fight ring, then perhaps we can go have a bite to eat?" Mercury placed a strand of Hayley's hair behind her ear, "Gentlemen..."

"I'M GOING TO KILL HIM!!!" Hayley hissed, Katsuki spun to face Hayley, "Who the fuck is that?!" Hayley watched his figure disappear, "Someone who I wished I'd never had to see again." Hayley faced the boys, "Listen to me, if either of you fights him, trust your instincts, he has multiple quirks like us." Hayley faces Shoto, "He has the ability to make you see things that aren't real, like an illusion, he also has a quirk similar to Iida but the only difference is... his much faster and stronger..." Hayley looked between the boys, "Thank you for the warning Hayley." Shoto smiled, Katsuki whipped his head back, "SINCE WHEN ARE YOU ON FIRST NA-omf" Hayley groaned, "No more yelling...

"Mercury and I met one year while I was training with my grandfather, His uncle is a powerful hero in America and he knows my brother, at first he was nice but he used me to get information about my parents and people I cared about. He made me think that he had feelings for me and that we were dating but it never happened, I was able to shock myself from his illusion but no one believed me except for my grandfather. He manipulates you beyond your limits." Katsuki grinned, "Well he is gonna get his ass kicked!" Hayley smiled, "Whoever gets him can open a can of-"

"You're fighting him..." Shoto stated plainly.

Hayley froze, "I am? Great..."

The battles went by and Hayley was preparing for her own against mercury. She knew that he was up to no good and had informed her grandfather right away, whether it was nothing or just a funny feeling, but he was on his way.

Everyone else matches had placed her on edge and Hayley seemed nervous to fight Mercury even after all her training. 

Our second last match of the first round will be 1A Student, Hayley Strom and her opponent a very quiet and withdrawn student from the General studies group, Mercury Black. Let's have a clean match, students, are you ready!!!!!!

Hayley and Mercury approached each other slowly and both had a similar stance,

"You better not go easy on me..." Hayley smirked, "You wish..." Mercury stalked towards her and the moment their hands tapped, their fight started.

Hayley had gone in with a punch to his face but Mercury had blocked it with a roundhouse kick. Hayley had made sure to keep close to him, Mercury's quirk works with distance, the moment she gets too far, he will have time to create an illusion.

Mercury had this constant smirk on his face that ticked Katsuki off, he didn't know why but he had a bad feeling in his gut about this guy. Keeping his eyes on Mercury he watched as he slid across the battlefield. Iida was amazed at his speed and technique that was so similar to him and his brother, "Midoriya, do you know who that is?" Iida sat beside his classmate. Katsuki leaned in as he too wanted to know if the nerd had any info on this mystery guy, "No, not really, just that he is from general studies, but Oh wow! He's fast!" 

There was a loud bang and then silence.

Mercury had gone in with a powerful kick but Hayley had blocked it using her strength quirk. Hayley's hair fell from its tie but she kept her eyes on him, not daring to look away. 

With every kick Mercury gave, a burst of air seemed to escape from his pants, Katsuki leaned down, "Oi Nerd, is he using a support Item?" Izuku raised his brow confused but when he looked back he noticed small puffs of air escaping his pants. When Hayley had used a powerful kick that sent him out the fight ring, he had somehow pushed himself back using air?

"What!? How did he do that?" Kirishima leaned over trying to seeing what was going on.

Mercury had come back in full force at Hayley. He swung his legs in all directions and she barley blocked or even missed a few hits. His legs were so powerful that they broke through cementos's floor, Hayley was getting tired and she knew it. Mercury had managed to place some distance between them but no matter what, Hayley tried to get in close when she was attacked by a bunch of air blasts, "Sorry Darling... It's only business..." Mercury winked at Hayley before he began blasting wind gusts in the air, they all flowed around the arena and formed a slight tornado movement.

Class 1A's eyes filled when panic when all the air swarmed ontop of Hayley, Katsuki sat up right away, "Oi! I can't see shit!"

Mercury walked away dusting off his shoulders, "You always were weak... it's pathetic really. But don't worry, at least I get to take down that sorry excuse of a hero wannabe named Katsuki Bakugou..."

Hayley felt her anger burst. She laid in the rubble with her heart try to claw out of her chest and her body on fire...

Hayley POV

I couldn't move.

My legs were numb and pain shot through my body when I clenched my fists. Mercury had always been this powerful but I thought I could beat him this time... 

 "You always were weak... it's pathetic really." I heard Mercury hiss. No matter what I did, my body wouldn't respond...

"But don't worry, at least I get to take down that sorry excuse of a hero wannabe named Katsuki Bakugou..."

Tears formed as the pain shot through my body... His Illusion quirk, I can't be that hurt, can I? My brain was fuzzy, a sign of his quirk. I pulled my body into a ball as I tried to focus my voice, If I could just scream to break the Illus-

"GET UP AND KICK HIS ASS, YOU SHITTY GIRL!!!!" 

His voice... Katsuki's voice, That's all I needed to hear...

Normal POV

There was a huge explosion... Flames sparked where Hayley laid and then erupted into large uncontainable flames. Hayley rushed out of the flames and went in full force. You could hear the crowd as everyone cheered in support but a few eyes were silent as Hayley's arms were covered in flames. Mercury was knocked back out of the ring, cheers filled her ears and Hayley raised her flaming fist in victory.

Hayley Storm takes this round and leaves Mercur- What's this?! 

Midnight! We need-

Hayley turned to face Mercury charging at her. He landed a hard blow against her shoulder and with a loud crack, Hayley fell to the floor. Regaining her stance by rolling a good distance away, "The fights over! What do you think you're doing!?" Hayley yelled as Mercury charged at her once more, "Finishing the fight..." Midnight was rushing towards the stage but she wouldn't make it. Taking charge, Hayley took a deep breath and held it in gazing towards Katsuki but he wasn't there?

"GetAWAAAAYFROMMEEEEEE"

Hayley caused the windows around the stadium to shatter and Mercury to clench his ears in pain. Midnight released her quirk causing Mercury and Hayley to fall to the floor. In her daze, Hayley noticed a smirk on Mercury's lips, "See you, darling.."

Hayley's shoulder was shattered and her new enhanced heat quirk had caused her to harm herself during battle. Hayley laid with her arms wrapped in bandages and her shoulder strapped securely to her side.

Recovery girl stood sadly at the door as she watched the young hero attempt to sign the form stating that she would be unable to continue in the sports festival. Her surgery had gone exceptionally well but with her burns and bones that are not 100% healed, she would not be allowed to continue without causing permanent damage.

"I must say Miss Storm, you showed great bravery and skill out there today." All Might spoke but Hayley did not respond, she pulled the covers up to her chin and gazed towards the window, "I-i shall leave you alone..." All Might gazed at Recovery girl before giving her a quick nod as they both left the room All Might could make out the silent sniffles as they slid the door closed.

"That boy needs to be punished, he attacked out of turn and could have killed her." Recovery girl scolded, "I believe that was his intention..." All might responded which surprised the old woman, "He's just a boy, is the league that desperate that they will harm any child they can take hold of?" All might nodded, "Young Hayley was a target and I fear that boy won't be the last one."

Katsuki was held back by Kirishima and Denki along with Sero flooding him in his tape, 

"I'M GOING TO FUCKEN ROAST THAT SILVER HAIRED FUCKER!!!"

The boys pulled and shoved their friend as he tried to make his way to Mercury's room, "Come on Bakubro, what about Hayley!? Have you gone to see her yet?" Kirishima held Katsuki's arm as the blonde tried to break into Mercury's room. The boy stiffened as he thought of Hayley, "No... Now isn't a good time" Kirishima's eyes widened at how calm the boy suddenly became, "Besides, I'll go see her when I win this festival!" Katsuki seethed, "That Fucker better be in the ring so I can kick his ass!"

"He won't get the chance to be anywhere near the ring or Hayley again..." another voice spoke from behind the boys. Katsuki's eyes widened.

"Good to see you again Kiddo... now, take me to my sister..."
