9. The Real Gracie Vaccaro by Genisis9
Title: 3 /5
The title is pretty simple.
Cover: 2/5
The cover design was visually unappealing and did little to reflect the genre or the themes of the book. Instead of enticing me, it left me with doubts about the quality of the story inside. The green spray paint on the main character's face and the green font of the title on the book.
Blurb: 3/5
The blurb, which should have served as an engaging introduction, fell flat. It lacked substance and failed to ignite any curiosity about the plot
It just had a few sentences and seemed more like the summary of the story of a rockstar meeting a demon and stuff doesn't go as planned. A blurb needs to arouse the curiosity in the readers and not give the summary.
Mechanics: 19/20
In terms of mechanics, the writing is polished and eloquent, with a seamless flow that carries the reader effortlessly through the narrative.
No grammatical errors were noticed. Purely perfect grammar as well as the vocabulary skills of the writer are impressive.
Plot: 20/25
The plot is quite simple and since the story is ongoing I am hoping for more plots.
Flow & Pacing: 9 /15
The pace is kind of slow. It needs improvement I guess.
Character Development: 6/10
Gracie. The main character is fine but needs a lot of character development.
The demoness. I like the demoness her character development in each chapter is visible.
Creativity & Originality: 3/5
The story shows flashes of bold creativity but stops short of being truly groundbreaking.
Emotions: 6.5/10
While the story does stir emotions at times, it doesn't consistently reach the depths needed to fully engross the reader in its characters' lives.
Total: 71.5 /100
Well, it's gonna be a mesmerising book if the author uses their utmost creativity through 7 chapters being published. I can't judge it based on whether it's a good book or bad or whether I should recommend it or not. If better and more interesting plots are introduced I'm sure it's gonna be a ground-breaking one!
