》A Month Later《

*Melody*

"What about this one?" Alice asked, handing me a plate while my father discussed something with the baker.

A month has passed since the chaos and things have really looked up.

I was finally freed from that terrible arm cast and even though the wrist brace was a little irritating, it wasn't as bad and I still managed to play violin and piano, as well as being able to improve on the cello. I only have another 2 weeks left with it.

Mystic Blood had begun recording and composing music, which has been really exciting for both me and my father.

A lot of news reporters wanted to interview me after my kidnapping ordeal, but found myself nervous, so my father helped me avoid them. I eventually released a statement online.

Alice continued on with her pregnancy, thankfully with no more complications, though already starting to get cravings, which helps her today.

There was a cake tasting appointment my father and Alice's wedding.

Alice, Inna and Tiffany have all been nonstop planning for the wedding, which was next week.

Its going to sort of be a mix of 1800s European fashion and ballet, with is perfect for my father and Alice.

Alice had asked me to be her maid of honor, which I happily accepted.

I took a bite of the cake slice, realizing it was lemon flavored.

They picked a three layered column platform cake, so three flavors were to be picked. We already tried chocolate, carrot, red velvet, and plum (which I wasn't too fond of), and  vanilla.

"Mmm... I like this one, too," I said.

"Its very sweet, even for lemon," Father said as he tried his cake.

"I like it, too," Alice said, as she kept eating it.

"Hehe, alright, definitely the lemon one and the vanilla one," Father said. "We'll let the others decide the other flavor."

"What's next?" I asked.

"Well, the others can try the cakes while we go pick the design for the cake. Want to join us or try some more cake?" Alice asked.

"Hmm... If its alright, I would like to stay with my uncles and make sure Uncle CC behaves," I saod as we turn to see he was stuffing his face with chocolate cake at a nearby table with the others

"Hey!" He said with a full mouth. "I'm just making sure Jinxx and Alice have the perfect cake for their wedding!"

As he spoke, bits of cake went flying from his mouth and hit Jake in the face as he tried to eat, leading to him slamming his slice right into CC's face and Andy and Ashley laughing out loud.

"God be with you, my young offspring," Father said with a laugh as he and Alice followed the wedding planner and baker to the office.

"CC, NO!!" Inna shouted as I turned and suddenly something splatted across my face.

I looked to see everyone stared with their mouth open, Uncle Jake standing up as if he had crouched down.

"I am so sorry...." Uncle CC said.

I saw chocolate frosting had gotten all over my hair and clothes, especially my favorite mint colored romper.

I glared a little before I spotted another sample cake near me and then grabbed it, staring at it before smirking evilly and looking up.

"Mother of God...." Uncle Ashley said in shock as he and Uncle Andy stood up, Jake also looking scared.

"Holy shit, hehe, hey! Mini Jinxx! Wait, wait, hold on, w-we can work this out, maybe see a movi- HAVE MERCY ON ME!!!" Uncle CC screamed as I approached him.

*Jinxx*

"This one is elegant," Alice said.

"Yeah, it is," I said. "I think we can go for that one."

All of a sudden...

"AAAAAAAAAAHH!!!!"

We all jumped at the sound of a shriek outside.

"What was that?" Our wedding planner, Yesenia, asked.

"Oh god," I said as we all quickly got up and hurried outside.

First thing I saw was Andy, Jake, Inna, Tiffany and Juliet standing behind a shelf looking shocked and scared, Andy holding a styrofoam cross shaped cake prop in front of them at...

"Melody?" I asked as I spotted my daughter at one of the tables eating a big slice of cake, but frosting on her hair and clothes and part of her face.

She looked up at me. "Yes, father?"

Umm, love... Everything alright?" Alice asked as I looked around, not really seeing anything broken.

"Of course," Melody said innocently. "Why wouldn't it be?"

"Like hell," Jake said as he hid behind Ashley and Inna.

That's when I realized something.

"Guys.... We're CC?" I asked curiously.

Everyone stood quiet as they looked at each other.

"Do you really want to know?" Ashley asked nervously.

"Alright, what's going on?" I asked, crossing my arms.

Andy then motioned to me, still holding the cross up as I walked over.

"Well?" I asked.

"Melody has a Scary Side," he whispered.

My eyes widen. 

"My daughter has.....? Oh, yeah right," I scoffed.

"We swear! All it took was one bad aim and.... God, it was more terrifying than yours!" Andy exclaimed.

"Okay, this is Melody we're talking about here," I said, pointing at her. "Look at her!"

She continued to quietly eat her cake in peace, minding her own business.

"If you don't believe us, then look over there," Juliet said, still shook, as she pointed to a shelf across the room full of cupcake samples.

I frowned as I looked at Alice, who shrugged as I cautiously walked over to the shelf.

I then peered behind it to see CC all covered head to toe in what appeared to be gallons of cake frosting and a whole lot of cake crumbs, a baby shower cake decor and wedding topper stuck on his head as he hugged his legs, shivering and looking like he just witnessed war.

"CC?" I asked.

"I have frosting in places there should never be frosting," he said in a shocked voice.

I cringed a bit.

"God, I can still feel it in my nose...!!" He whined, holding his head.

My eyes widen as I looked over at Melody, who continued to eat.

She looked up at me. "What?"

"Well fuck," I whispered.

Guess Melody did inherit my Scary Side.

We ended up paying for the cakes and choosing a flavor before the guys went to get CC washed off, and Jake and Inna headed to my house with us.

While Melody showered we finished with dinner.

"I'm sure Melody didn't mean it," Alice said. "As said, it's her lady month."

"No no, I understand. Eitherway, CC had that coming for launching the cake right at me," Jake said as he drained the water from the pasta. "But shit, I never expected that little girl to have such a scary look on her face, even if she's your kid."

"Even Juliet was scared shitless," Inna said.

"New law, no pissing off Melody during her lady days," I said. 

"Pretty sure CC learned that rule now," Jake snickered.

"That's not funny," Alice said, trying to contain her laugh.

Soon Melody came in, changed and drying her hair with a towel.

"Hey honey, feel better?" Alice asked.

"Much, thank you," she said. "And, I really am sorry about what happen. I didn't mean to throw all that cake on Uncle CC."

"Nah, don't sweat it," I said. "He had it coming. Though he'll be sneezing icing for a week."

Jake snickered as he remembered the sight, making Inna smack his shoulder.

"Nonetheless, no harm done," I said, kissing the top of her head. "Dinner will be ready soon, so you can rest in the living room for a while."

"Okay," she smiled as she went ahead, Mao getting up from the corner and following her.

"Well, at least we can say today was interesting," Alice shrugged.

"True," I said as we shared a small laugh.

Soon we finished making dinner and we all ate together before relaxing, Jake and Inna soon leaving and the rest of us heading off to bed since there was a doctor's appointment while Melody is at school.
