Epilogue
I've been just reading webtoons and of course I stumbled on a really good mermaid/siren story and I just enjoyed the music to it. It even helped me write future works involving mermaids.
~~Third
The light sea grazes along the sand moving in a particular pattern. The quiet waves swish as the evening sun sets among the horizon. It was an Early January of being the seventeenth. In the bridge of Seaford was the famous researchers' lab with many exhibits on researching the odd things with the world including the most interesting of all: The ocean.
That lab was known for figuring out and knowing about the secrets. They kept their knowledge to themselves along with the fact on trying to find out more on mermaids. One of the main researchers is Celestia Rivers who knows some information her parents told her, but never shared it with her youngest sibling who recently been finishing his last two years in the Seawest Alecander Academy.
With him was Melody Medina and Ashton Jacobs. And this fine evening was when their school released for the day.
"Guess what?" Melody exclaim to the two of them as they exited the academy for the day. "I got accepted to the university!"
"You too?" Ashton smiled. "I knew you could do it. Now we got to wait for Seivon to... Speaking of-" Ashton turns to Seivon. "What is taking you so long? If you just apply they will accept you."
"Who knows why I haven't," he told them honestly, "I am just focusing on my classes still. Besides they probably love to have me. If anything they be begging for me to come." He laughs dryly.
"Now, now Sei," Mel warned her friend, "Don't get too cocky. Just because your parents were famous in this town doesn't mean you should go in open arms to whatever people give you."
"Pfff enough about the sinful deceased who gave me life." Seivon muttered bitterly and annoyed. He hated talking about his parents. He kinda despised them for what they did, but no one knows his exact reason for acting like that.
Once upon a time he used to be depressed because of their deaths and now he feels anger.
"Sinful? What did they do exactly?" Mel turned to him, "I don't know when it start but you suddenly started hating them around four years to five years after their deaths."
"Don't worry about it. You should think of them well. They did nothing to you. It's a bit personal." Seivon shrugged, ready to move on from the topic, "Anyway, how the project with Keiver doing?"
"Oh don't remind me... Ashton! Seivon! Both of you have to help me. It's not just a project he is seriously eye raping me!" Melody lamented dramatically.
"Eye raping?" Ashton laughed. "Is that even a word? Melody, you been on those book sites by non published authors too much, haven't you?
But eye raping is now my word of the week. I am going to tell that girl in spanish that she is eye raping me."
"Oh no... Don't do that!" She shook her head, "She'll either get mad and think your a creep and-"
"I'm a creep?! WHAT? What have I done with myself and my life to become a creep." Ashton widen his eyes in exclamation, "Ohh Melody.... Seivon."
"Not you!" Melody bonked his head. "If you do that she think that. And we don't want that... Or she might like it and be weird about it..."
"Oh like having a one-on-one bed time?" Seivon raised his eyebrows smirking as Melody shook her head is disbelief with his choice of words.
"And you think I say weird things, Ashton? Nobody says that... but don't saying anything else! I don't like where this conversation is heading!" She covered her ears as both of the boys laughed talking about things she despised.
"You traitors, you are literally not suppose to talk about this with me. It's disgusting and never will I ever." Just then Melody sees the raven haired girl. "Oh Ver! Please help me."
"Wait.." Ashton comes to realization. "You're the person in Spanish!"
"And you're the guy in spanish...I'm confused why are you excited for? Name's Ver, it's not my actual name, but nobody can pronounce it. I guess you can say Melody's my friend? And you're Seivon?" Ver nodded.
"I heard about you... Actually all three of you. All of you were on the Meridian six years ago and survived. Actually, Seivon my sister thinks you're are amazing to go through that. She knew your parents and were friends in school. You're amazing..." They sighed.
Ver was like a fan. Even if they kinda made Seivon uncomfortable, he didn't hate them. In fact, he admired her admiration, to be that happy and filled with joy by something that so terrible to have happened.
"Oh...Uh... Thanks?" Seivon whispered to Ashton, "Hey Ash, is saying thanks normal in this situation?"
"I think." He whispered back.
"Oh so are you all going to the museum?" All of them blinked.
"What museum?" They weren't sure what Ver was talking about
"Oh none of you heard? They got a device to get one of the sunken ships and everything in there. The other one was in pieces and too hard to get." A dreadful memory flashed through Seivon's mind.
"So now they put it in there, but they are letting family members of those people take their stuff back. Are you going to?'
"Well now that I heard about it I think I should. I prefer if those wouldn't read or look at anything personal. So where is this museum exactly?" He hoped it was somewhere close, he preferred not traveling to far.
"Oh it a little ways off. Near Alaska. On one of the Atlantic Aleutian Islands. You know the place where both oceans meet? The Pacific and Atlantic. They choose there because the oceans near that area is odd, don't you think?" The Ver smiled as dreaded thoughts filled him.
He thought of a few words he caught once, and shook his head. He had to go there even if it was across the ocean.
"Eh I don't think so.. If you think of everything that is odd than you try to figure out everything. Besides who says its not normal, and what we think is normal really normal? Anyway...When can we go?" Seivon shrugged hoping his statement sounded something a clueless person who has no knowledge of its secrets would say.

"Mina...Mina...O great, powerful Mina... I like the sound of it. You should make sure everyone calls you that." In the Atlantic Aleutian Delta, Mivozene was right besides his sister, the queen of Kimoshei. On the other side of Mivozene was Kaisa, princess of Rivalkai.
"Oh be quiet Mivo." Kaisa sighed,
"I was thinking about something and you interrupted my thought process. Do you know how frustrating that is?"
"Oh? Enlighten me. I am so bored." He lazily leaned back, "The mermaid council hasn't given me a job in days."
"Tell that to someone who cares, sir Pacific. We rather be here doing nothing than doing some dirty work for the mermaid council." She crossed her arms, sighing.
"Ouch. I am part of the mermaid council, you know." He widened his eyes, "And Atlantic, call me sir Pacific again and I have you turned upside down before you can save your pretty little-"
"Ahem! Stop fighting! Mivozene! Kaisa! Jeez what is with you two... And I thought you used to fight with me, Mivo." Miracine sighed rubbing her head.
"It is nothing." They both mumbled. MIracine looked at them suspiciously. They were always fighting. Never could they get along... No one would of guessed they used to be friends and couldn't wait for their visits every single day.
To say she was surprised when she found this out was an understatement.
"Argh you two!" Miracine sighed, "You know... I agree with my brother."
"Why thank you Mina!" He grinned, "You are being unreasonable Atlantic!"
"I agree with the fact the mermaid council has not gave us anything to do in awhile." Mivozene expression saddened.
"And when will these hardheaded spirits, finally leave so we can go back to our kingdoms?"
"I..I do not know. There a lot nearby and this place is safe from the magic of the mermaid council and both of you casting a protective sphere around it." Mivozene whispered sadly.
"You know at this rate, I just want to destroy and get rid of those dark spirits. I want to kill them, I am willing to spill a few dark blood if that is willing to make sure we can return to our kingdoms. I hate them." Miracine glared at the tiny fish who was swimming by who froze in terror.
"They're always cause problems and I wish they be gone forever." Mivozene and Kaisa both stopped to look at her.
"Are you...Serious?" Mivozene looked surprised and was almost happy. "I am going to speak to the council. Are you going to come?" They both nodded their heads. They swiftly swam into the hallway where a group of council members were located.
A man of muscle and older age was thinking in his head of some sudden events that would make it hard for them to do things. "ARGH!" He bang his fist on the shell desk.
"Stupid humans! So ungrateful what we did years ago and now led up to this.... Those dimwitted of those researchers! Oh of the great sea...Clamsters!"
"Sir? What has happened to cause you to be this upset?" Mivozene spoke politely.
"Ah! Mivozene... The perfect Kimoshei prince." Mivozene cringed at Kimoshei prince, but didn't let it bother him.
"I have exactly the perfect job for you, your sister, and princess Kaisa of Rivalkai."
"Perfect. I am always up for the task. What is it this time? Humans strayed too close? Those stupid boats need a little path shortening..." Mivozene grinned knowing exactly what to do, but he got ahead of himself.
The mermaid shook his head, "No... not exactly-"
"Oh of course some dark spirits getting too close? I can whip their heads up side down and right side up before the great seas could ever notice any destruction." The former prince once again got ahead of himself and the situation, thinking it was some fun bloodshed he could do.
The mermaid once again frowned, "No..no Mivoz-"
"Oh divers... I should of known. I get a current pulling them to the deepest pit or back to the sands of land." But, atlas, he still was not paying attention.
"No..No...Noo... Mivozene!" The mermaid put his palms together and sighed. "This time it is serious and different. On land apparently from what our spies can gather there is a research lab quite a few thousand of miles off that created a machinery device. It goes deep into the sea and records movement, sounds, and imagery." He told them seriously,
"If it is destroyed the evidence is not destroyed and records what happen into another device. We must be very careful and use underwater camouflage by blending in with the sea and its water. I ask of you to go to land and find more about the device and the people creating it and dispose of it and them along with their knowledge."
"But wait a moment I thought we already took care of it? They created it again? The salty seas..." Mivozene muttered under his breath.
"I swear of the seas......great Vunliziean...." He cursed.
"Yes...." He lowered his head, "But that is not the only thing they created. They got a device instead of being their physically they got something to transport things into the water and out."
Mivozene held his lips in a thin line, "And what does that do?"
"They've been taking ships and finding items they lost. Most importantly one of the ships we had you and your sister sink was taken. It could have recordings our your voices matching up to you when you both were sneaking around pretending to be a normal humanic. I honestly do not know why you both did that. But..." She lowered her head,
"They've got it in a museum and they are opening it for people who are related to anyone of the ones who died. You must sneak in and get anything that can make humans realize of our existence. If you can, I would destroy everything by flooding the place or catching it on fire."
Miracine bit her lip when she realize what was going on. She hadn't thought of him for months, but now she has. She shook her head refusing her thoughts to be consumed by him again.
"They didn't get the other ship?" Mivozene questioned. Miracine looked down. She realized he didn't know she had to destroy it.
"I thought it was destroyed..." the mermaid stated, "Was it not?"
Mivozene sighed, "Phew that takes care of that!"
"Not quite! Some of the information was gathered from that too." Miracine's eyes widened. A dreadful filling went through her and she thought of the sickening journal.
No. She thought. She refuse to think of that. They couldn't.
"We must get there as soon as we can to stop this. I am sure Kaisa, of the Rivalkai will not mind coming along to help." Miracine spoke up. The elder nodded his head.
"Very well. You must go immediately. First the islands than the lab which is located in Britannia, or what humans call Britain." The three of the nodded their heads and went off.
"How you know about it being destroyed? Do you go there a lot or something... I thought you-" Anger radiated off Kaisa.
"Oh you're mistaken, I am the one who destroyed it. I saw something that could reveal our existence to everyone." Miracine whispered.
"What was it?" The others asked her.
"I...I" She shook her head. "I am sorry. I do not want to talk about it. It was terrible. Mermaids in labs. A journal about it all." Both of their eyes widened.
"Ohhh I heard...So was it true?" Kaisa widen her eyes,
"You know with it all. Pictures? Words? Everything? Who, and how and when was i-"
"This is not something we should talk about... Atlantic." Mivozene growled in discomfort.
"Look!" Miracine pointed. "There it is." The three of them sneaked inside and seized a plan.
They were going to burn the place. It wouldn't be as suspicious as flooding it.
"Okay.. I got the top you both get the bottom and please do not argue..." Miracine sighed, "Or would you rather come with me."
"No..We are good." They both said. Miracine narrowed her eyes. They've been acting strange lately.
"We will get along."
Miracine was searching the place for awhile with no luck. She hasn't heard from the others in awhile either. She saw few humans and when she did she told them to leave with her voice enchanting them to do so. As she was walking to find the things when in the corner of her eye she thought she saw Melody, but looking a little older.
She blinks and looked behind, but no one was there. Was she just seeing things? She sighed. It probably was that with her doing a mission relating to them. Finally she found the room, but instead of anything that could be taken. It was locked up in chests, so she did what she had to and began burning it.
"Burn. Burn away. Burn it all. Along with the truth that shall still remain hidden." Just then she heard the door opening and someone came behind her. Preparing for it all. She muttered, "You scream, you yell or tell anyone else to come I will kill you. You will tell me what you know and why are you here if you want to live." She says with her back turned.
"Mira...?" The familiar voice to her spoke behind making her turn around. Her eyes softened as she looked at him. She remembered the secret meetings, the secret kisses, the night talks, the swimming, and the secret glances.
"You are at the point of killing me? You really do hate me. How could you hurt me so much?"
"What...No...I..." A sob was threatening to come out of her throat. "It was a mistake. I..did not want to hurt you anymore... I am glad you are well. Please you must leave so I can destroy all evidence." Her expression looked confused.
"Hurt me? The only time you hurt me was when you left without saying a thing! How could you?!" His anger from all the years got the best of him and came out.
"W-what.... " She widen her eyes, "But I was hurting you since forever, so I..had to stop. In the beginning my brother and I caused you to almost die, then four years later because of my pendant the spirit was after you, and then about two years ago... I caused you to almost drown." She looked down.
"No...Mira, that was all me." He shook his head, "Not you and none of that hurt me. How could you think that? At the very least say bye?"
"Mermaids are known to hurt people..." Miracine looked down.
"Oh yeah?" He gave her a look, "Who claims?"
"K-kaisa..." Miracine whispered.
"All of them never say the truth. They wanted us separated don't you see...." He widen his eyes, sighing,
"Urgh I promised myself I'd be mad at you and make you regret it, but I see you and remember everything and all the moments and I can't possibly...Give it back already...My heart."
"I...do not even have mine..." She paused to admire him. "I can't help it, I still love you..." She whispered reaching her hand out.
"Don't." Seivon grabbed her arm." He turned to go to the door, but while they were conversing the fire took over except for the window. And then she had an idea.
"Trust me?" She tilted her head with a small smile on her face, "I promise I'll never hurt you again."
"Unfortunately...But with my life." And then they jumped into the sea in each other's arms.
