There were always secrets I never knew.
I wished I paid more attention so I didn't feel so helpless when I finally knew.
I wished I paid more attention to those parents of Kaisa, so that I could have picked up on things.

Miracine Seaton

      "And this is a room for the good.  They done the good.  And this is the bad.  The done the bad things...Oooooooohhhh!" He screamed in dramatic horror, "I wonder what.  It could be dangerous!  We should check it out!" That was the butler personality totally. 
     He was touring me around.  You know how Mivozene said he show me a little well he showed me a little until letting the butler do it.  He had this accent that I could not figure out what it was.  It was a mixed of Atlantican mermaid accent and a humanic country accent.

       "What?  Why?  There might be spirit daemons." I worried, "And I do not want to deal with them and they might take away the crown from me and-"

      "Now did Mivozene get you riled up?  Judging you I would say you do not worry about any of those things." He told me in amusement.  He was right.

      "I do not want to worry him here.  Besides it is true they could take it away if I am even near them" I told him honestly, "Take my soul and make it where I never see anyone I care for again."

      "And I thought you were smart!  You are not wearing your pendant are you?" Miza widen his eyes in exclamation, "Without that you cannot.  Speaking of why do you not wear it, I thought everyone did."

     "Oh...uh...ummm...I do not like to wear it places because of demons so I have it in a secret place." I turned away.
     Seivon...My secret place.

     "Your face!" He pointed out at once.

      "There is something on my face?" I pressed my hands and fins to my head.

      "Oh no!  Your face, your eyes, your neck, your shoulder....I can tell.  On the last moon you allowed yourself to choose your desired one of life." He whispered mysteriously.
       What?  How could this mermaid know. Right at the restaurant I did that and then that humanic came out of nowhere.  I thought it was a demon until my brother came.

     "W-what?  D-do not be ridiculous." I crossed my arms.

       "It is that humanic your brother always rants about, right?  The one he hates...well then again he hates them all since.....ever."  Miza turned away sadly,  "And he does not know, but if he did he would surely hate you forever!"

        "He already knows..." I lowered my head, "He wants to removed my Kimoshei born designs that way it could be redone. Well that was what he said to me."

        "Remove them!?  Does he know how deadly and dangerous that is?  What would happen to you?" He widen his eyes,
       "You could die or forget everything you knew or have memory zero of your lover!"

       "I did that because I thought it would help me.  It would make it when I do leave I would someday return to the human world er humanic world." I told him firmly, "You don't understand I don't want any other, that is why I did that."

       "You've been on the surface with Miss Kaisa, right?  Please," he turned to me with a soft expression, "Don't take your anger out on her.  She's been through a lot and it's not her fault that she chooses to just blame some individuals." He turned to me once more,
       "I thought I seen and heard your voice before!  And now the safe place in the Pacific is almost ready.  Yeah yeah!  Then he wants you to go back.  And you do not want to I bet.  Ahhhh!" He screamed.  "What a tragic love story... mhmmm." He muttered. 
       "Maybe I could write a tail on this.  A mermaid tail of a forbidden romance.  It be so popular with the youngsters!"

      "Huh we've met?" I looked at him trying to remember anything in the past, but nothing came to mind. 

      "Silly one, of course" he laughed, "Although you seemed to be crying and holding on to your brother for dear life as if he the only one important."

      "Oh yeah...That day. Mivozene had a meeting with the council of elders and then he told me about a mission my parents had." A sour taste filled my mouth and soul.
    "He told me how they were banished and we could no longer live with them because of some other bad influence they were giving us."

     "Oh my Princess Miracine of K-k-kimoshei!" I looked over and saw Miza basically weeping, but his tears were instantly absorbed by the sea.

      "What?" I turned to look at him.

       "That is...so sad." Oh he was being dramatic again.

       "Yeah I missed them.  Now all Mivozene does is tell me how terrible I am being." I lowered my head in sadness, "If they saw me now they would be ashamed to see me.  I am such a failure."

        "No you are not!" Miza exclaimed, surprising me greatly, "He is just...it is just his way of dealing with things."

         "Things?" I turned my head towards him, "What things?"

          "You know the things he does not necessarily want to..." He chooses his words carefully, "involve you in."

          "And you know?" I sighed.

         "Well maybe." I glared at him. 
         "Okay fine!  Yes, but that only because I was present for when some of the things happened or when Her Highness, Kaisa found out since Their Majesties were trying to help him with it." He revealed to me in panic.

         "Kaisa...knows?  Of course she does." I rolled my eyes.  "They are probably planning what to do with me the moment we speak."

       "What?" He looked shocked.

       "Oh I caught my brother on the phone speaking with someone to try to hurt....you know.  And it seems to be her.  It is the only one that make sense.  The person follows and spies on me and the only person he knows is her.  Plus I randomly seen them together and when I come they all of the sudden start fighting."
        I shook my head, drowning deeply. "Also if I ask about the other to them they both state how they hate the other.  I mean they do not seem to get along, but somehow could work together doing who knows what."

       "Interesting..." He thought, "Are you sure, maybe you misheard what the call was about.  Or maybe the times when they are together they could be talking about one of the things that he does not want to involve you with."

        "Oh.....I..I never thought about that." I lowered my head in shame.  I feel kind of bad now, "I do not know.  It is just that Kaisa annoys me.  The way she is."

       "I get that a lot about me.  I do not understand why people do not seem to like me.  Take your brother for example.  He thinks I am annoying, but I am nothing like that." 
      Oh I think I understand why Mivozene does not like him.  He practically annoys him for joy.  "I never do anything, but compliment him." I chuckled at his words.

      "Who knows it could be you.  I mean you could be secretly spying and planning something else." I grinned in a teasing manner.

         "Are you referring to the cliche 'it is always the butler' that everyone speaks of?  I would never hurt any one you." He looked across the hall. 
       "I suppose they are done talking now."

        "Huh?  Talking?" I was puzzled.  "Wait you mean while you were showing me around-"

         "Yes, they were talking about things that your brother does not want you involved in."  All day I just been hearing things my brother is involved in that does not wish for me to be involved in.

        "Jeez all this talk about my brother and things he does not want me involved in is making me have a headache..." I sighed, "and is slightly making me want to know.  But no I want to actually respect his wishes."

       "Ah you are playing a dangerous game, princess Miracine...or should I say Mina?" He warned me carefully.

      "Do not." I warned.

       "Why?  Your brother always called you that since he was younger." He leans with his arms back.

       "Exactly, are you my brother?  No you are not.  And now we are going to see my brother because I have an important question to ask him." 
        More like if there a way to get a reception down here, I need to speak or send messages to Seivon.

       "Mivo?" I went to him making the conversation stop immediately.  So Miza (My-zay) was right.  They were talking about something.

       "Miracine!  You are back already?" He exclaimed with a semi happy, semi upsetting face, "I thought you were-"

       "Yeah, but I must need to know is there a way to get a reception down here?" I crossed my arms, avoiding his look.

       "What....No.  You are not." Anger shot from his eyes and flared from his nostrils. "Did you seriously brought that humanic made device?  You want to contact humanics even here?"

       "You are off talking with them anyways...." I shrugged, "Why would it matter to you?  I just want to know how...h-they are doing."

       "That is it.  I am removing your designs!" He snarled at me, which made me jump back a bit.

      "Mivozene!" A masculine who I presumed to be His Majesty of Rivalkai country. 
      "You know how serious harm it could do to your sister.  I thought you cared for her well being.

      "Do you know what she did this time?!" He gritted his sharp teeth.  Even Kaisa had no idea.
      His teeth made a loud scraping sound.  To any human it would sound like knives being sharpened together.

      "Miracine...What did you do this time?" Atlantic carefully asked.  I said nothing, but stared.  She did not have to know anything.

      "Desired one of life!" He spat.

       "What were you thinking?  Seivon is only a human!" She looked almost worried for me.

       "Your point being?" I did not care at all what they said. 
       "Do you always have to be against me, Kaisa?  You are always taking my brother's side."

      "Do not be ridiculous, I hate doing so every time." She hissed,
     "It is just because you do some of the most insane things!" Jeez they both seem to think so alike.

     "Look I do not care and you are not removing any designs just so it will fade away.  I just wanted to know about a reception being able to reach down here or internet.  So can somebody answer my question?!" I exclaimed, not giving into my brother's ways.
     Nobody said a word.  Typical.

       "I will show her around some more!" Miza quickly took my arm and lead me elsewhere.

        "That went well!" My voice dripped with sarcasm.

       "Ahh yes..." Miza sighed, "About that you should of just asked me because I in fact know of a place that has some." I did not hide the happiness that filled my face. 
        Gleam filled my eyes and brightness was in my smile.  I did not hesitate and at once hugged him.

       He was shock I did that.  "Wow....You must really love...you said his name was Seivon eh?"

       "Yeah that is his name." I neither denied nor confirmed what he said before was true.  "Rivers....Seivon Rivers.  He has brown-- no chestnut hair that is just...." I sighed. 
       "His eyes are sapphire that I always am memorized by.  He is such an idiot doing so many selfless things.  He always cares for everyone and will always make sure his friends are alright despite what he is truly feeling inside."

     "Miracine, you are not the first who loved a humanic..." He whispered a truth he hadn't dares to speak in a long time,
     "There been some before you that had.  And nobody knew because they choose the surface and stayed their while nobody found them out.  I'm sure others had to split ways, some lived in places filled with ocean and surface, and some tried ways to get the humanic to live beneath the sea."

       "Really?  Wait, how come I never heard about those?!" I exclaimed in wonder, "How is it that they lived beneath the sea when I thought they could not breathe?"

        "Some how they figured out a way and as far as their descendants: the finned ones lived in the sea and the legged ones lived in the surface with a bit of a mermaid's breath."  Miza told me words that brought me great possibilities.
       "And they got away with it because they did not have anyone telling others of their whereabouts nor were they royalty."

       "Oh..." I frowned slightly.

       "Hey do not worry!  I think you both would be able to make it together!" He told me and I smiled.  He believed in me and that was a first.

       "Why are you so for it?" I asked him.  There were so many mermaids against it.  Every merphan I met have never understood me once, but now this mere-servant seems to be on my side?  It puzzled me.

        "If I was not than I would be a terrible son..." Miza looked down and revealed, "My mother is human and my father choose the surface. I shouldn't exist, you are right." He laughed bitterly,
       "I am neither human nor mermaid.  My life is a sin and if the council knew I would be put to death.  No one besides His Majesty knows about this being one of his closest friends."

        "Wait King Koitan?" I was surprised.

        "He was a servant like myself friends with your mother and Queen Kakuriza.  Actually, he was under the Rivalkai league of knights," smiled before facing me.  "Well we have arrived." I take a look to see a seabridge that connects to a glowing tower. 
        "The place that receives a reception." He grinned.  Jeez why did he have to be Atlantic's butler.  She did not deserve him, although he can be annoying on purpose, I like him.

        I looked down at my phone.  It really did work.  Good thing I had a waterproof one.  If only my skin was like that when and I felt like it I could look like what I wanted.  I saw messages and the internet worked.  "You were right!"

       "Yeah but since I did that.....I like to see him and meet him.  You know do those things with live camera at same time that shows your face....face...like face-time!  Yeah that!"
       Oh no.  I sighed clicked on Seivon and called him.  He accepted immediately.

      "He accepted as soon as you sent that request.  Whipped." He poked my face.

       "Shut up." I only said.

       "Mira?" Seivon faced showed up.  "You are underwater and how are you getting a reception?  I swear I thought someone stole your phone, but it really is you."

       "Look it is working!  You are the best!  Can you retire from Atlantic's and become my butler instead?" I quickly faced Seivon as soon as I heard his voice and changed to the human language.
       "Seivon, someone showed me an area with one..."

       "Wait is that Mira?!  Why she look different?" I heard Melody's voice, "It's not bad she just looks well maturer and older."

       "You know some would consider that an insult Mel." I crossed my arms, "But that's technically cause I am older than both of you.  I'm not going to explain in human terms because it is confusing but I am." I shrugged, "What are you both doing?"

       Melody answered immediately, "Well Seivon over here was complaining about-"

       "Shut up!  Don't listen to her." Seivon exclaimed covering Mel's mouth with his hands.

      "Again..." Miza leaned in my ear.  "Whipped."

      "Ha...ha...ha...Very funny." I rolled my eyes sarcastically

     "Who are you talking to?"

      "Oh Just Miza, Atlantic's butler." I shrugged like it was normal.

       "Atlantic?" Melody looked confused.

       "Honey, she means Princess Kaisa, Her Highness Rivalkai Atlantic.  You know her, yes?" He laughed referring to her hair, "Very good yes?"

      "Oh Kaisa...." She suddenly widen her eyes and screamed, "Wait! KAISA HAS A BUTLER?  WHY DON'T YOU?" I held the phone away as she cried into the phone

      "My exact words when I found that out." I laughed at her reaction.

       "AlrigHT noW You leAVE, Miza.  YoU'Re heLP was apprECIAted," I turned to Miza and told him he could leave.  Yeah I was not going to admit that aloud.  

       "If you insist...." Miza said in the human language.

        "Miza, stOP TAlking like a huMAN WHen you haVE a merPHAn heart."  I told him to stop talking like a human when he is a mermaid.

       "What it is natural for me unlike you who full fish." He told me slyly, getting a full reaction from Melody.

       "Full fish?" I heard Melody chuckle on the other end.

       "Do not say that..." I crossed my arms, "That translated badly." It was mainly for their sake's I said that like that.

      "Melody just go." I heard Seivon say to her.

      "What?  Why?" She furrowed her eyebrows, "He is not leaving."

      "Yes he is!" I pushed Miza away.

       "Fine...." She finally left.

       "He is interesting." Seivon noted through the call.

        "I was surprised, he told me his mother was human." I told him in excitement.

      "Really?!" He was equally excited, "Does that mean-"

       "Yes!  It has to!" I pressed both of my hands together, " Seivon..." I thought of what Mivozene said.
        "If there a day...if there a chance I ever forget anything would you do me a favor and help me remember?"

       "Y...yes of course, but why?  What is going on?  Is something happening to you." He became worried for me at once, "Maybe I should come to you and-"

        "Seivon!  I am alright, really.  My brother was here." I saw his eyes widen and he got annoyed at once.
        "It was fine until he said something that he wants to do because of you that could result of me forgetting you forever..." I lowered my head, "Of course I am against it and I will make sure he will not."

         "But that is serious!" He exclaimed with his eyes widen.

        "Seivon please, I'll be fine." I closed my eyes, "Tell me something else.  You know I will be back with you tomorrow." I smiled so gently so he could see.

       "I know... I just saw you this morning, but I miss you already.  Mira..." He whispered, "It is so good to see you."

      "I wish you were also here." I smiled.

     "I am dreading every moment you know.  Every moment I fear you will leave.   You are always afraid you cause me to get hurt, but trust me when I say that is not the case.  For you are my treasure, you are my secret place, you are my dream, my love, my Mira..."
      I felt my heart skip several beats at his words as I was filled with emersive joy that I couldn't express.

       I looked at him and soften my expression, "I love you so much, Seivon that I do not think you understand how much it is."

     "Oh but I do..." He smiled softly.  I heard a voice calling me all of sudden and he noticed my expression changed.  "Mira?"

     "I.. I have to go." I turned away, "Look I will be there tomorrow."

     "See you then...." He whispered, "It is a promise."

      "Mina!  Mina!.... Minnnnaaaa! Miracine!" The voice kept calling.

      "I am coming!" I called back.  I slipped my phone in my corset and followed the voice.  It was Mivozene.

     "I am not going to remove your designs." I heard him muttered.  "But you must promise me you are not going to do any romantic acts with him because if you do you know what would happen. And you will leave in three months."
     He crossed his arms, "Too early, do not care.  If you want to keep your designs those are the terms.  Now I will see you around, I take it you are traveling during the night?"

     "Yes....I am going to go."  It was going to be a short three months and that is what I hated about it, but even though it would be short I had a feeling there were going to be a few things that would go really wrong.

       I said my goodbyes and went up and away.  Thankfully I was not traveling by sea to the Pacific so it was much quicker.  Only an European human country was where I was headed.

      Daylight seeped through the edges of the water as the sun arose.  It was the sunrise of the beginning of the day.  Just seeing a sunrise was beautiful and incredible.  The many colors that surround the sky and let me tell you if you ever go to the arctic or southern oceans you would see auroras that filled the skies. 
      I've never been, but I heard so much about them.  I lifted my head out of the water raising my arms to the edges.  I rolled over and watched as my hair slowly became shorted and my fins merged into two human legs. 
     I was wearing the same clothes as before.  It was still early and somehow insane to wake up at this time, so instead of waking them I was going to sneak in and watch him.  Okay that is a little creepier, but...

       I went inside.  I was near two doors I could decide on my own or watch him.  But his presence, the fact I knew it was him captivated me.  He drawed me to him.  I saw him there with his eyes closed and he looked so peaceful.  It was if nothing else mattered in the world. 
       I allowed myself to be next to him and I just waited.  I draped my arms around him and slowly rested next to him.

      "Wa...Mira?  You really came in the morning, didn't you?" I slowly nodded, but before I could say anything I felt my eyes close and fall asleep.

New Author's Note:
Being whipped is not bad and Miza was just messing with Miracine.  Seivon did not hear him say that.  Also I am asexual and because of that I do not find any comfort in writing any majorly explicit scenes, besides nothing happens between them until book 2.
