Chapter 13: Cafeteria Serving: Free Water Whips...Eat One, Get Two Attacking You
When did I ever get so afraid?
When did I feel like there was nothing I could do?
When did I start getting so blind to the fact nothing is what it seems?
When did I decide running away was the only option to
make it better?
Because running made it
hurt even more?
Miracine Seaton
"That did not go as well as I thought." Mivozene shook his head sheepishly.
"You think?" I raised my arms up, "If it did gone smoothly we wouldn't be cramped laying in the big stall of the bathroom with tails." I groaned as I sat on this disgusting place. The icky mess of the bathroom floor.
"True..." He admits, "but come on Mina, where did it all go wrong." He dares to ask what happened? It was his stupid oneself's fault.
"Excuse me?" I raised my eyebrows, "You? You are asking where it all went wrong? It went wrong when you refused to follow the plan correctly." I exclaimed throwing my arms up in the air. He is such a hypocrite.
"Oh come on! I was almost going to drown her!" He exclaimed like it was the best thing. I wouldn't be totally against it if I knew they would be totally sad about the thing, "It was going to be so fun!" And I have to deal with this guy.
Oh yeah, that guy happens to be my brother. He has a real knack for his hatred of humanics.
The plan was to have water surround the girl with his water whip and anyone else who gets in the way too. We also wanted to scare everyone else not involved away. Basically the only ones that should been there would be Melody, Seivon, Ashton, Malseania, and the few others to make it look normal.
If Kaisa wasn't there, the better. A mermaid knows mermaid magic when they sees it and Kaisa will obviously blame me for being jealous. Which I'm not, I just want to show them her true colors and make sure she understands she can't tell me what to do... Well maybe I'm a little jealous, but that is besides the point!
"If you kill someone that would be not be good. Then if they do find out, I would not be able to face them. They will surely hate me." My shoulder shrunk and my face fell.
That's even worse than Seivon being with Malseania whatever her face's last name is.
"But who cares about that anyways. They are just humanics. Oh yeah, you for some reason do..." He shrugged, "But I just wanted to let that feminine humanic feel the air of water a little. When did the plan start to get a bit offtrack?" When did it really get offtrack?
I looked back at everything that happened in thought.
~M~E~R~M~A~I~D'S~~D~R~E~A~M~
A few hours earlier:
I could not believe what I was hearing, "Let me get this straight, he said he wanted to spend his last days with you?" I looked at Kaisa as she nodded her head ferociously. "I'm gonna talk to him later about that."
"Just....don't." She whispered a bit uncomfortably, "Besides I can't stand him at all."
She can't stand him!? Really? There are a lot of things I thought they have in common and would get along really well.
I was surprised without a doubt, "You know what they say if somebody can't stands another." I whispered mysteriously.
"Young Atlantic.....there is a thin line between love and hate." I pressed my lips in a thin line.
"Don't you dare..." She crossed her arms. I laughed leaving her behind in the hallways before she could say anything else.
I was sitting in a classroom watching as the students gather in. Then as sly as possible Kaisa came in with a redsnapper face along with an irksome expression.
I wonder did my comment make her nervous or realize something else...unless did she run into him? No she totally did. She ran into him. It is so obvious she did. I mean I kinda ship her with Ashton, but there was like no way that going to work out. I mean I originally got the idea from Mel, but I kinda agreed with her.
She hates how I was spending more and more time with Seivon and we were both getting closer. She hates that I feel something different for him. So she would never ever get with him. Well not in this life. But sometimes I think she might has a small-small crush on him.
"Okay so I have to read this letter to you that will go to your parents. Make sure it is signed and return it tomorrow." I didn't know why but I busted out laughed. Mermaid Council of Elders took them away.
They would've been happy for me if they were here. They didn't care as long as I was happy and they were different from many other mermaids. They didn't hate humans with passion.
Everyone all of the sudden turned to face me. Ohh that's right I laughed.
"Excuse me, Miss Seaton? What's so funny?" Think fast...Act polite.... Think fast...Act Polite....
"Oh...I'm sorry, I almost lost composure. I have a question....What if your parents per se are not in town?"
Wow I am acting so nice and sweet to this teacher. What is wrong with me? Usually teachers are so annoying and I can't stand them.
"Oh! I don't know." The leader sighed, "Take it to the office! We were only told to read this letter to you and make sure your parent reads it and sign it." Geez, it was just a question. Fine, I won't even bother with it at all.
"Any more questions?!" The teacher glared and most of the class shook their head in sync. "OH!" The teacher suddenly spoke up again. "There is a strange person going around campus. The staff asks that you do not interfere with the odd fella' and avoid him at all costs. He is known with hair having multiple colors and he has strange markings on his body. If seen we ask you to alert a staff member to hold him under custody." I had a feeling they seen my brother.
I thought he was suppose to blend in, but Mivozene decided to spray multiple washable dye in his hair. Cause that is totally normal. And how is that even normal? He wasn't suppose to let staff see him, but if they try to take him into custody who knows what he'll do to them. I have to stop dwelling on this. Everything is going to be fine.
Yeah, everything is going to be fine I was telling myself more than I actually believed it.
The teacher then started talking about the lesson.
Zzzzzzzzz, this is the part were we fall asleep. Useless, Useless information. Geez why do humanics have to learn this stuff. Shouldn't they learn things to survive and that's it?
What is up with all these extra things? Like that one subject is practically useless. What was it called Mash? Masharics? Whatever it is called...
When I was younger and I had mermaid school, they didn't even teach us that! It is useless. They taught us the history of our kingdom. It was called Pacifican Kimoshei Kingdom History, and some years we had Global Kingdom History where we learned a little about the other kingdom's history.
Then we had this one class Performances of Enchanting Charm Mojo. We practiced controlling the water and other spells. It was to teach about our mermaid magic. We had a subject learning and reading our own language along with the main language humanics speak so that if we ever went on surface we could understand. Then if you were royalty you had a class on ruling, being a leader and how to deal with spirit sea demons. No extra stuff.
They didn't teach everyone the royal class in case you might rule because you settle down with a distant prince or princess of our kingdom or a neighboring kingdom! They didn't teach everyone guard duties because you might become one in the future. They didn't teach you being maids and servants!
If you wanted to do that you would go and learn how. You wouldn't be taught useless information. Humanics are being taught useless information just because you might go into that when they get older. And most of that information they will forget.
Suddenly, I felt something hit the back of my neck. I turned around and there was Melody smiling. I looked down and there was a small eraser. That was the thing she threw at me?!
"That. Hurt. Like. A. Bass. A big fat seabass." Melody shook her head at my strange reference. What? It is normal to say something like that. Well maybe not to humanics, but that is besides the point.
"So what did Mal do?" She whispered all of the sudden. My eyes went wide. I couldn't say anything. Her spies. She always knows. Not anytime soon. Not here, not now.
"Spies...and she always knows." I muttered lowly, only loud enough for her to hear and none other.
"Oh....ohhhhhhh! Well who cares bout' that?" What she said reminded me of Seivon....He always told me who cares what others think:
Let go and discard them, my dear, and let yourself be free of their thoughts.
In most circumstances, I wouldn't care but she could make Seivon hate me and that's what I'm worried about.
They care what she will do. It's my battle, my own or anyone who believes me. The others will listen to her over me. Why would people refuse to believe a helpless innocent girl like her. At least that what they think she is.
Why wouldn't she try to get everyone against me once I tell a single soul. She would make it so Seivon would hate me, and as well as Ashton, then Kaisa will think I am just some jealous mermaid.
"I do." I shut my eyes and left the classroom abruptly. I can't take it. Tears flew out of my eyes. The only droplets of water that couldn't tear this humanic flesh into one. I don't know how long it has been.
I just want to lie down in the dark with a blanket over my head and cry forever. I want to snuggle up in nothing but covers while lying my head down. I can't stand this. Why do I have to be a sad mermaid? Why is the world against me about this?
How long since I felt Seivon? How long since I let myself fall into his arms? How long since I felt his flesh on mine? How long since I kissed him? How long since he saw my tail? How long since he met at the back of the school to see me? How long since he forgot the mermaid of his dreams and saw that other girl?
"Excuse me, my mistress..." I heard a male voice call out to me, "I don't suppose you know where the cafeteria kitchen is?" I raised my eyebrows to the figure in front of me.
"Come on, idiot. Let's get her out of the way," I state in our own language.
"Idiot? What? Me, no. Although I know someone who is snooty...." He grinned mischievously. Then he started running away before I could get him. I am not snooty.
"It's this way, Mivo!" He laughed eventually following me. When we entered the empty cafeteria, the silence enveloped us. We quietly sneaked in the kitchen room with all the food and pipes that carries water through the sewer system.
"We would've been here already, but somebody is too busy sobbing.". I scowled. Ignore his words and take it out on Malseania, I thought.
I turned my hand into a fist and then I got an idea. I looked up and saw a leak. One leak. One mistake turned into a perfect leak that dripped and dropped.
He glanced at me."You thinking what I am thinking?"
"Yep!" I gleamed, "But we got to take care of the lunch ladies."
"Oh that will be-" I put my hand up, stopping his words.
"Don't kill them!" I yelled which caused him to frown.
"Awww!" He lamented, "Well I guess I can seduce them." I gave him a 'really look'. He hates humanics with passion, but somehow he is okay with seducing them. In all honesty, he is a hypocrite to me and Seivon.
"Or we can like just hide in the air vents..." I shrugged looking at it. It was dusty, but who cares. Then we'll be able to control water easily and hold Malsnobia's ground. It will make her get mad to the point she reveals her true motives. It would be just perfect.
And if Kaisa ruins it, I'll use her boy troubles card on her. It so obvious they would be perfect together even M-
"No way am I getting in that!" Mivozene crossed his arms. Of course he'll hate it. And they call me a feminine.
"Fine you'll be out in lunch blending in," I sighed, "You'll hold her down with your water whippy thing." I decided.
"What if the humanics want food from the cafeteria?" I'm surprised he asked instead of resorting to just killing them.
"You can tell them this," I state,
"Cafeteria Serving: Free Water Whips...Eat One, Get Two Attacking You." He laughed out his loud airy and deep laugh. "And make sure nobody take advantage of the ways you move."
"So you like the way I move?" I was talking about his specialty on mermaid magic. The water rope whip.
"I meant your thing...." I mustered, which was all I could come up with which caused his eyebrows to raise.
"My thing?" He put a smug smile on his face. I shook my head muttering endless thoughts. That sounded like something I didn't mean at all. And he is my brother!
He fits all the categories for being my brother.
Overprotective....☑️
Annoys me..........☑️
Hates guys..........☑️
Worries for me...☑️
Cares for me......☑️
"Just look normal, wait for lunch to start and get ready to show everyone who she really is. And I'll be ready to sprout the leak over her in the vent." I finally told him before jumping into the vent.
"And I'll use my thing!" He exclaimed kinda loudly and I just have a feeling he's not going to let that go.
~~~~~~~
Students were crowding in the cafeteria, but not too crowded. I could easily see the little pest. By her side was Seivon, along with Melody, Ashton, and sadly Kaisa. They were laughing and smiling and I honestly felt that they are better off without me.
With me, there is so much drama. I am not human. Melody seemed to dislike me for it, but with that girl here, she seems to be fine with me now. Kaisa blends in the most. Seivon.....Seivon I...
Then all of the sudden I see Mivozene in such a ridiculous outfit. Thankfully people minded their own business and didn't pay attention to him. That was the signal for me to start the ordeal.
I slowly moved the leaking sewage system water, expanding it greater than before, pushing it slowly over towards Malseania. She was just smiling too sweet that it was plain evil. After this, I will show everyone who she truly is and send her to hell. I'll make sure she'll rot in her ashes. I will show everyone the truth. The truth of who she really is: I finally dropped the sewage water, splashing her.
"Gyaaaaaaaaah!" She let out a piercing scream. If that didn't make your ears hurt, I don't know what will.
"W-water!" Kaisa jumped up in panic mode, but she didn't know where the icky water came from. She was too focused on backing away from it to pay attention.
"Where did that come from? Is that sewage water?" Another voice wondered aloud.
"Look a leak!" Ashton conveniently pointed up at the leakage in the pipes in the walls. Bravo Ash, bravo!
"I don't want to be here...We should go somewhere else." Mivozene spoke in a high pitch voice and others agreed with him.
As Mivozene got many students to leave, the devil's daughter was in utter distress freaking out. Not long afterwords it was only the main group and several others in the cafeteria.
"W-w-what is this stuff?!!? G-g-get it off me!! Please!" Her act was shifting. She was still saying things like please but she was screaming and freaking out.
But Seivon looked at her in confusion. I wonder what he was thinking. Maybe it will show him that he must of fallen for a witch.
Mivozene decided to make things even more interesting and summoned his water whip thing as Mivo would of said it.
"I....uh...have to go." Kaisa quickly ran off. I wonder if she suspected anything.
"This is weird." Melody noted. "Like abnormal almost as if...." She turned to Seivon and at once they exchanged glances. I wonder what that is about.
Then Mivozene expanded the fluid water making what seemed to be a water pool surrounding her. What was he doing? The plan was to get her unmovable over five minutes after being hit with water by surrounding her with his waterwhip. Instead, he turned his whips into a whirlpool but on land.
She was in the mist of all of it. If he isn't careful there could be a 25% chance she could die. I mean I wouldn't care, but others would so that would be a problem.
"ZEEEEWAHHHHHHHHHT!" She screamed again, clearly bothering everyone. Just her screaming by itself was paining everyone, even though her being in the mist of that thing was painful too.
But Ashton wasn't even phased. He acted as if it happened everyday.
2 minutes left.
She been in that thing for three minutes, the humanics were freaking out...especially Seivon. It hurt me to see him like that, and all for some fake like her. Ashton wasn't doing anything.
Random girls...I think they were her spy hippies who were screeching along with her. They were also freaking out. Melody had an unreadable, blank expression.
Kaisa...well she disappeared as soon as water came at least a few feet near her. I wonder...did she get splashed too? Mivozene wasn't stopping what he was doing. He kept going and going, grinning like he was having the time of his life.
She was being wrapped around tighter, the water enveloping her like there was no tomorrow and she was the last thing in the world to swallow. It was so bitterly terrible and I loved every moment of it. She can't mess with me. So when she claims she will do everything in her power to make sure I don't interfere with her relationship with Seivon, she should watch out.
I am the one with the advantage having mermaid magic of the Kimoshei waters and so much more. But she looks in pain. I have this weird feeling inside of me. Don't tell me, I'm feeling guilty!?
I am a mermaid, not a humanic who gets all kind of crazy emotions.
Mivozene was going a little bit too far. She was trapped inside water that filled her lungs. I have to make sure she doesn't die or Seivon would never forgive me!
I got out of the vent. And you know those lunch ladies? Well they were there. I completely forgot about them. As soon as I came out of the vent they stood there with their eyes wide.
"Holy demon!" The first lunch lady pointed her finger at me shaking. She was fairly young lady in her mid twenties to early thirties with her bright peach cheeks and raven hair in a bob cut.
"BEGONE!" The second one yelled had brunette stringy hair in a bun with a bright blue eyes.
"Whaaaaat?! WHERE?!" I screamed back. And as soon as I screamed, they screamed.
"Wait...you are you a student?" They slowly asked. I nodded my head innocently.
Was it because I came from the vent covered in dust and gray muck?
"I think you had too much seaweed, I just came into here to get a spoon." I told them, patting their heads.
"S-seaweed?" They looked even more freaked out. Ladies and gentlemen, I believe humanics do no eat seaweed. How unfortunate!
The best thing in the world. I nodded and walked out the the scene out in front of me.
I pushed open the cafeteria doors with a mighty shove. It has been over five minutes. Perfect. Now I must stop it before everyone hates me forever.
Why did Mivozene had to do the extreme. I specifically said to not kill her.
"Urrghhhk!" I grunted knocking my brother's water see-through figure. Yep, he made himself covered in water so that no one could see him.
Right away he became visible and Malseania was instantly free, soaking wet and coughing, but had air flow.
"What are you doing?!" I gave him the 'are you crazy' look.
"I was just following the-" He tried to explain, but I shot him down.
"That is not part of-"
He then yelled, "Don't interrupt me! I was doing something nice for you and you go ahead and place the blame on me." I sure didn't know trying to kill someone is nice.
"Five minutes was the deal." I spoke in a lower voice. "Not to kill her."
"Miracine?!!" Melody comes over to me before my brother could get a word in.
Malseania came over, gasping for air,"Erk..... Eh... Ug.... Hey.... ergh.... ugh..... that's... the.... erk... eg.... suspicious... person... the.... staff... is... erk.... eh..looking..... for..." Malseania coughed pointing at Mivozene.
Oh no.
"Why don't you just leave?" I muttered before he says anything suspicious.
"Suspicious? How am I suspicious? If anything...everyone else here is suspicious of doing the worse. Especially to my Miracine." Mivo grinned like he said the best thing in the world, while I just glared at him.
I hope they think he sounds like a humanic, rather then a mermaid with the accent of the sea. And thankfully his hair looks like is has random blueish purple dye in it.
"You know each other?" Melody observed. "You aren't together, are you?"
"W-what....." I my eyes went wide. Me and him....together? Just no, and ugh he is my sibling.
"Only humanics will say something as stupid as that!" He turned to Kaisa. He always had some weird thing for her. I shot him a glare elbowing him.
"It's just my stupid brother." I turned to Mivozene. "Now leave before you cause any more trouble for the staff."
"Yeah," Malseania frowned, "I don't appreciate what you did to me, Mivozene of the-"
"What do you mean?!" I said right away. In a way I wanted her to finish the sentence. Was she going to say of the Kimoshei?
If so how does she know? Does she know about mermaids and what else? No don't be silly, she probably going to say something else.
"You both tried to kill me!" Malseania shrieked, pointing her fingers at us. Seivon raised his eyebrows as Melody frowned in confusion.
"Why of the seaslugs, would I try to kill you? Don't just go on threatening and blaming me just because for some reason you dislike me!" I shrugged, giving her a dumb look.
I glared at her as she fumbled through her words. Did I hit a nerve? Now how will she explain that to them? You set yourself in war, what are you going to do about it.
"I....I...well...how...do I....e-explain w-without....looking stupid..." She stuttered as she spoke sweetly.
"Why can't you explain?" Melody pinned a question on her further. She was acting like a journalist or a paparazzi.
Malseania frowned, but then her sweet evil smile came back."What the-" Mivozene's face got pale. On his shirt was a damp spot and I turned to Malseania who grinned. She splashed her gunky water on him.
"Seriously?" I raised my eyebrow. "Do any of you have towels? My brother hates getting his clothes wet." I had five minutes.
"No....." Several of them said at the same time. Great.
I grabbed his arm. "I'll show you the-"
"Don't touch me!" He said suddenly. My eyes went wide, how could I!
I wasn't thinking. He has water on his arm and his shirt.
"Too late..." I muttered. I saw a sudden blue light from behind my brother's shirt. I can't let them see his pendant glow when it touches water. Quickly thinking, I grabbed his arm and ran out of the cafeteria.
If this didn't give away who I was, then Seivon is absolutely stupid or something else is distracting him from figure it out.
But Malseania is what got me the most. Does she know? Did she knew this entire time. And for some reason she hates me, or has she been watching us meet this entire time I met Seivon behind the school.
My scales were forming on my legs and my gills were already on my neck.
I ran into the feminine's toilets bringing Mivozene along regardless of him being a masculine. I went into the biggest stall and shut the door. And we both collapsed to the floor.
"I guess we will be here until we get dry." I said tiredly before I reached up for some paper towels to dry my my arms and fins. My brother did the same.
"Why did you do that?" He turned to face me.
"If you said too much then they would hate me and realize it was us."
"Your point being.....?" He shrugged in confusion. Mivozene did not get what friends and hanging out with people you liked meant.
"Ugh nevermind!" I sighed, "Let's just hope no one comes in."
Present
"...And then I said I hope no one comes in." I tell my brother, now after recalling everything.
"Righhhhht....." He sighed trailing off.
"Okay it's been like ten minutes, when is our humanic form going to come back?" I just wanted to get out of the nasty toilet room.
Just then we both heard the door handle turn. "Miracine? Are you in here? It is me, Melody and everyone else. You have been in there for awhile."
I turned to my brother wide eyed, we weren't mermaids yet, so what's going to happen.
Sorry it's late
I feel like nobody probably reads this. I wish people would comment more. And when this being in #3 in Shipwreck going to #19 in land is sad.
