At first I was sad and then I couldn't feel. I was numb and didn't understand it at all. But soon I became mad. I felt tricked and betrayed. I wanted nothing more than to never feel the way I did with her again.

Seivon Rivers

After the anniversary of the Marian's wreckage, I never saw her for a long, long time.

I went to to our hangouts that we always meet every morning and everything every night and she wasn't there. She wasn't at our beach spot either.

I feared that she lost the ability to see me or become a mermaid. I am reminded of her words and I think that is probably why. Her brother has been watching her.

I remember at the play when I told Miracine to leave, I wonder if it was Violet. If it was she would have been upset. I haven't seen Miracine in weeks either. But then I saw Kaisa, her brother, and her with a white robe on. She told me, she was sad and I failed to recognize her.

But that only meant, she had to be Miracine, right...?

That's what I thought too....

~Weeks later~

"Amazing isn't it?" I smiled at her as she nod her head. "I'll see you after class." She is the one I've been seeing all this time. I can't believe it. She has been in several my classes too.
How did I not notice her? She has the same violet hair and ocean eyes that light up whenever she is happy. She is the one that warms my heart. That sounded super weird. As if it is some romance book or movie.
It's not like I read them or anything, Melody just likes reading them and forcing me and Ashton to watch romantic movies.

I'm turning soft, Actually I think I turned soft when I was thirteen. That was the year I got saved by her as a mermaid.

One day after class, I took my hand in hers and lead her to the back of the school where I always use to see her as a mermaid. She was smiling and I could tell her heart was beating just as fast.
I knew at once when I received a letter in my locker those week ago, it was from the mermaid. I knew it was from the her when she saved me. She is very poetic in the most lovely way possible. When I brought her there I remember our conversation:

I whispered in her ear "Is it you that wrote this?"

"I-I-I...wrote it.. If you don't-" She trembled nervously just like she did when we first met.

"I'm glad." I told her shutting her up. That alone made a smile appear on my face. "I finally found you. It is you from before." I told her.

"R-really? I'm just glad you finally noticed me." She looked down as her cheeks began to blush. "And for the record, I thought that being opposites it would never work."
Just because she is a mermaid and I am a human doesn't mean anything. She smiled kissing my cheek.

"I am going to make sure everyone knows who you are and what you mean to me." I pressed my lips to hers. Everything was going perfectly.

"Seivon!" Mel suddenly exclaimed. Woah, I thought. She was standing there impatiently. Oh did she want to talk. I was waiting for Violet's class to end.

"Oh?" I widen my eyes, "Sorry I wasn't paying attention. What is it?" She looked at me very seriously biting her lip every moment. Her eyes were intense.

"I... I have to tell you something that I've been keeping from you." Mel trembled nervously as she biting her lip. She looked a bit paler than usual too. It made me almost nervous.

"Yes?" I was hoping she will just say it already. Whatever it is, it can't be that bad, right?

"I...uh... I really... ummm" Her face was pale and she looked like she was going to pass out from fear.

"Melody!" I asked again. "What it is?"

She took a deep breath and looked at me intensely. "I wonder, do you think aliens are real?" She asked bluntly.
What? That question came out of nowhere. I was not expecting that.

"Aliens?" I humor her, "Oh yes, I think they adduct thousand of humans every day," But in truth, I just shrugged.

Mel crossed her arms, "I'm being serious here!"

I scoffed, "I'm being serious, says the person who asked if Aliens exist.". Yet here I am, who has only been interested in one mermaid with violet hair and marine blue eyes.

Mel narrowed his eyes and sighed, "Let me rephrase that. Do you think there are beings out there that look and may act similar to us, but they are actually not humans? I've been thinking lately, you see. And I seen some unusual activity and what if there are people around us that aren't humans." She had her detective, problem-solving mode on.
How do I respond to that? I don't want to lie to her. And why would she think that? Did someone tell her or was it just because of certain incidents?
It oddly seems too specific...

"I'm.... not... sure." I tell her slowly. She frowned before sighing. She wasn't as pale and seemed better than a few minutes ago.

"I was afraid you'd say that." She sighed. But I have a suspicion that a few students here aren't human."
Not human? I wonder what she is going to say.

"Like who?" I raised my eyebrows, wondering where this conversation will lead to.

"Subject number 1. That girl we saw after the play of Swan Lake." Mel crosses her arms with a grin on her face.
Violet's odd form with the robe?! Mel's detective skills are kinda scary now...

"You mean that girl in all white? The one with the robe?!" I asked, pretending to be surprised.

"Yes..." she said carefully and then looked me straight in the eye when she said the next few words, "Subject number 2. Kaisa Leisen."

"K-kaisa?!" I gasped, "But she's our friend. Isn't that a little extreme." She can't possibly know she is a mermaid.

Mel, however continued to ignore me, "Subject number 3. The brother of the girl we saw after the play." How did she find out about them?

"Wait! But Kaisa...." I tried again, "We known Kaisa for about two years and how would she not be human?" I questioned Melody's theory.

"Yeah, we known her for awhile, but she does weird and abnormal things. She had something to do with that guy after the play and his sister. They acted all weird and called us humans. They also seemed to have some deep hatred for us. Who does that?" I was about to answer when she started talking again.
"They got mad because they got splashed with water. Kaisa always hated water and getting wet, or just swimming in general. And whenever water touches her she runs and disappears for minutes on end. When she finally returns, she is completely dry in the same outfit." She finally turns toward me, smirking.

"So what do you reckon, Kaisa and the others are if they aren't humans? Aliens? Dragons? Rock monsters? Titans? Vampires,? Werewolves?" She gave me a look. I gulped.

"Mermaids." She whispered and I could only widen my eyes in shock. She knows more than a lot.

I then hysterically started laughing, "Really? M-mermaids! Jeez..." I shook my head,
"Has some fairytale bluff gone to your head? Mermaids? Like the ones with fins and sing ear-piercing songs that lead sailors to their doom? Ones with pretty faces that sailors wanna kiss?" I laughed at her suggestion as she gave me the 'are-you-serious' look. "I'm serious, Seivon!"

"Okay-okay! Jeez....woman." I sighed, "I mean Kaisa is our friend, I don't want to question her." I tell Melody.

"I think she is fine, I am just warning you. Another thing is you seem to be so adamantly against it." She gave me a flat face, "Like how you are hiding the fact you were locking your lips against a mermaid the other day." I legit had no words to say. I was mouth opened and agape.

"Uhhh..... Heh heh he, say what?" My eyes were wide and now my jaw was on the floor. Okay not literally, but you get the point.

"Were you using your player tactics with that mermaid? Careful she might draw you in and kill you..." I had to fight the urge to roll my eyes. I'm not even a player.
"But if you get the advantage, be careful when she wants her revenge for using her. So how are mermaids lips?" I was surprised by her questioning. She thinks I'm just playing her.

"Okay....you caught me!" I gave in and I raised my hands up. "But please don't say anything.". I looked around and saw nobody was nearby, "She didn't want anyone to know what she is."

"I was gonna include Ashton in this, also so I-" Melody was starting to say and I panicked. No one else can know. Mel is already in danger for knowing.
Think... Think..

"NO!" She looked at me in confusion. "Let's...just keep this between us, oi-kay?"

"You mean just us?" She widen her eyes, "Me and you and nobody else?!" She got extremely excited.

"Yes, it will be our secret. Kinda like a little project." I whispered to her. She giggled excitedly.
She cannot tell anyone. And she seems excited that me and her are doing something together, just us and nobody else.

"I don't necessary think Kaisa will do anything, but maybe the others. I mean did you see that girl with the robe thing on? She could've attacked all of us. Her brother was more calm." Her brother being more calm? Is she serious, right now? He looked at me like dead meat.

"C-calm? Him? He said he was gonna kill me? Did you hear him?" I looked at her as if she was crazy. Yeah he is the most imitating thing ever, but I won't be afraid when it comes to his sister.

"He was probably joking. He didn't want you to hurt his sister, that is all." Sureeeee, that is all. How gullible can she be?

"Ahhh I get it.....You like him!" I smirked. I never noticed Melody to be one for having crushes and that girly stuff, but liked chick-flicks. She also never expressed any liking to any guy either.

"W-what?!" She looked surprised with my suggestion. "Me?"

I nodded. "Yes, you must be."

"Why?....Are you jealous?" Suddenly she did something so unmelody-like and began smirking with her hands on her hips.

"No...not really." I shook my head, "I'm actually glad you finally found someone. Ashton was even thinking you might of been a lesbian."
She frowned. Though I kinda wish it was someone more tolerable and I have a feeling, he will not feel the same way.

She said nothing about it anymore and stated, "I will be off. I am waiting for Mr Hufftnovanton class to release. He always releases his last class late." And then she nodded.

~M~E~R~M~A~I~D~'S~~D~R~E~A~M~

Miracine Seaton

Today is the day. Finally, I can't wait. Although, there may of been a little backup for the last few days, it has gone smoothly. wait. I arise putting on lotion and Don't you worry Seivon. Putting my hair over the symbols on my face, I smiled.
I have to make my hair go in a certain way so it covers it. People assume it is bangs, but it really it is forged bangs. I wonder do people actually believe everything I say?
I mean half the things are lies, but it is not like I could tell them the truth without sea slug forming on me.

I went down the steps and looked out the window.

"Mina?" Mivozene called from the main room. I gotten closer to him these passed few weeks. He has been here and when I couldn't go anywhere because of that skin-scale thing. I just hated that.
And you know what my brother did? He decided it was probably because I had too much water and it is not like I am a mermaid and I thrive in water, to cut off all water to me. Not bathing, no swimming, no midnight swims, no washing my hands, no saving red herrings since people are always catching a red herring, nothing with water in it.
So guessed who soon got ill? ME. And guess who got stressed and caused everyone else to become stressed? ME. And guess what happened when I smuggled water? I was better. Back to normal.
The one good thing is he understands me way more. But does he like Seivon? Ye.... Absolutely, NOT. He hates him with passion and I swear he is gonna kill him. Whenever I speak of him, he always resorts to:

'I'm gonna kill him. I hate him. That is it, I am going to kill him. How dare that blobfish- no wait blobfish are way better than that imbecile. I feel as if I am insulting a blobfish. That poor fish.'

"What is it, brother." I muttered crossing my arms. If he is going to keep me from leaving he can forget that.

"Since you really seem to like it, you can go there without sneaking off, sister." That was unexpected. Wait really? I blinked.

"I don't really like it, it is the people I am there for." Okay...that's a lie. I hate the majority amount of people. Ashton I can't stand and he seems to think I must love him. He annoys and flirts with me constantly. Doesn't he get it that I hate when he does it? I am only nice to him because of Seivon.
Melody is alright, but she seem to hate me, and when she is not giving me that look, she is fine I guess. Kaisa, she is not human and tries to convince me to stop pursuiting Seivon. But how could I not?
Ughhh... teachers are so annoying. Students act like I am amazing and want to be my friend just cause I told the teacher what I think.

"Mina, just be safe. And if anything happens get outta there as soon as it happens. Then I'll be here waiting for you, in open arms." When I saw him, I thought he might've been smiling. He had his arms around me making sure I was fine.

I shook my head swimming to shore. My scales became none, my fins became two. I had my uniform on and I headed to the gathering place with a smile eager and everything.

W-what...

I looked over rubbing my eyes to see if I was hallucinating. Was my eyes deceiving me?

My heart stopped instantly. I felt my knees go weak. It doesn't make sense. By Melody, Kaisa, Ashton, and Seivon was another girl.
She clung to Seivon like a lost pufferfish. She smiled so sweetly that it was so evil. Her hair was dark purple. Her eyes were midnight blue. I hated it all. Her looks, what she was doing, everything. Why is she by Seivon? He said I am his only.
Who is she?
Did he actually not mean it?
I swear I can't stand. I feel numb. It is like he stepped on my heart, breaking it into a thousand pieces and laughing right back at me with that girl. What's worse is she looks similar to me. Only her hair is longer and she doesn't have bangs. She looks way more beautiful that I ever was as a human.

"Hi....I'm here." I spoke softly without looking at anyone.

"Thank goodness you're alright, I was worried." Melody came to me. Of all people it was Melody.
She usually dislikes me, but if she is doing this, there is something wrong. Ashton just smiled and Kaisa bit her lip and nodded.

"Oh, I heard so much about you." The girl came over saying just as sweetly. "I am Malseania Kawamizuno." Her voice sounded so nice too. And I hated that.

"I am-"

"Miracine Seaton! I know." She laughed and it sounded like bells ringing. It made me even furious that she interrupted me.
You do not know what you are doing to me. He'd never truly liked you that is why. He doesn't like you. He just being his usual self, the one he shows around the school.

Seivon whispered something in her ear causing her to burst into a fit of helplessly giggles. She kissed him on the cheek and he wrapped his arm around her smiling. I starred at him in disgust.
How dare he....do this to me? He only smiles like that with me. It wasn't a smirk. It was a grin. It was his genuine, beautiful smile.

"Everyone.... I decided to listen to your advice." He smiled again. And I finally heard his voice after a very long time.

We all looked at him to continue.

And he said the words, I feared, "Malseania Kawamizuno is my girlfriend."

I took way too long to finish this.
And now that in the beginning she has stated that she will try to do things to whoever he is with, it doesn't come off as odd anymore.

Okay yeah it might be a bit obsessive, but she isn't human.
She doesn't know that isn't normal.
Dating isn't normal for mermaids.
I added a few lines to the Aliens are real dialogue where Seivon humors her.
Legend tuning out x.
