Chapter four: A Changeling Raid
Shadowhunter's POV
I watched from above while the Changeling raid began to move off in the direction of Canterlot. Luna had commanded them to change their forms into familiar ponies and then enter the city, killing all the unsuspecting ponies. The Villainous Three were to follow them and help if needed.
We flew above the clouds, out of sight. The black army crawled forwards, closer and closer towards Equestrias' capital. Already the city was raising up alarms. I could see the army start to emerge out of the city. These ponies would die before letting the Changelings attack their families, ruler and city.
I signaled to my team and we flew, unnoticed, into the city to do some spying for Luna. Moonstalker landed beside me.
"How about I search the city while you two try and get a look around the castle." she said.
"That works." I smiled and followed Mysticaura down the winding streets. I noticed that there were no Pegasuses walking around. I guess they were all needed to defend the city since it was on the side of a mountain.
The changelings were already attacking and some of them were past the cities defenses. They came closer and closer, the cities inhabitants were screaming and running around. I realized that Mysticaura was confusing them. I gave him a thumbs-up and we continued.
The castle was right ahead, I could see some kind of magic being used on the balcony. I think Princess Celestia was up there. Then a carriage flew through the air. Some princess, leaving her city to be killed.
Changelings were swarming throughout the whole city now. Ponies were fleeing while others were killed or taken captive. Me and Mysticaura had to dodge ponies and debris.
The Changelings could use their green magic to capture ponies, the green magic was everywhere. We finally reached the castle, but it was surrounded. I wondered in they even knew that Princess Celestia had fled. There was no way to get in from there, but I could see an unprotected balcony way up.
Me and Mysticaura flew up to it and landed. We had a perfect view of the whole city. The Changelings were searching houses and shops for any stranglers. Queen Chrysalis was marching confidently down the street, shooting magic at all the ponies she saw.
When she arrived at the castle, Mysticaura confused the guards for her. I looked at him.
"Why didn't you do that for us?"
"I hadn't thought about it." he said, embarrassed. I grunted with disapproval and nudged him on the shoulder.
"Let's go." I said, continuing into the castle to do my spying for Luna. I could hardly wait to get out of this city and back to the cloud.
