CHAPTER 27
Maddison's POV
Hiding was never my thing but because of my insane sister I ended up hiding from all people. It was like I would never be part of the world. It felt like I was not accepted in my whole life.
I was standing a few meters away from the grave of Levi. I was hiding below the tree while I'm waiting for Ali and Harley to leave the grave.
Aside from that, I was holding a gun in case anything happened to me. I gave them a glare as they talked in front of Levi.
How could they do it?! I've never seen Levi since I ran away from them. Everyday felt like a hell with me when I knew that he's gone. I never had a chance to say sorry with him.
I felt the wetness on my face as the tears were streaming down. I wiped it through my hands and kept my glare to them.
It's all Ali's fault! She never stopped making things complicated.
After a while, Ali's eyes turned on me. She looked like she was scanning my existence. My eyes widened when she stood up from her place and walked towards my place.
I quickly turned my back and walked as fast as I could. I made huge footsteps as I walked away again from her.
"Maddison!" She called out loud.
I roamed my eyes around the place until I saw a white tiny house at the side. It was like a house for the gravestone. I quickly hid inside before she could face me.
"Ali! What happened? Why did you run?" I heard Harley asked while they were both catching their breath.
"I saw Maddison! She's here!" She exclaimed as she cursed in frustration.
"Your sister?! Where is she?"
"I don't know! She's just lost from my sight!"
After a moment, their voices were vanishing as their footsteps were going away. I took a deep breath when I finally confirmed that they were gone.
I went out from the grave house and roamed my eyes around the cemetery. I also brushed my hair using my right hand and flipped it through the air. "That was so close!"
"Too close, Maddison! You can't fool me now!" I heard her voice from my back.
I held my gun tightly and planted a smirk on my face. I didn't expect she would think like this. I had nothing to do with it but to show myself for them.
I slowly turned my back on her as my hair was bouncing in the air. I gave her a smirk as I stared at her through my eyes.
I raised my eyebrows as I gave my sight on her from top to bottom. She looked different from the Allison I knew but no one could stop me from pointing the gun on her.
"Stop!" Harley screamed as he went in front of Ali.
"Still protecting her huh? You could not stop me! She's the reason for all this bullshit! Because of her Levi died!"
I noticed that she looked down and her face seemed too disappointed for herself. I grinned as I still pointed the gun on them.
"It's all your fault, Maddison! Don't blame your sister! She didn't do anything! She's just a victim of your own! So please! Stop!" Harley exclaimed out loud.
"Don't instruct me as if you know everything!"
"Stop!!!" Ali screamed as her tears were streaming down. She went in front of Harley and stared at me. I slowly put down my gun and let her speak.
"Please stop, Madi! I would do everything just please stop this! You want justice for yourself, right?! Tell me! What do you want me to do?!" She's still catching her breath as she sniffed from crying.
I opened my mouth slightly until an idea came up into my mind. I formed a grin on my face as I looked at her.
"Really? You'll do everything for me?" I smirked as she nodded in my question.
"But promise me that you'll stop this and you'll be going home in our house," she assured.
"Great! Well…" I placed my fingers on my chin. "I want you to be me, Ali. I want you to go to the police and tell them that you are Maddison." I smirked as she widened her eyes.
"What?! You want me to go to jail using your name?!"
I nodded and I raised my right eyebrow on her.
"No! Why do I need to do that?!"
I chuckled in sarcasm. "That's the deal, Ali."
I turned back from them and slowly walked away. "If you don't want to do it, you will regret it, Ali!"
I walked away from them and left them with my words. I would think she will never do it. She couldn't risk her life in prison just for the sake of me.
I quickly came back to my hidden place. Mr. Collins was the one who gave me my place. He's the only person who accepted me from now and then. The man who took care of me when I was abandoned from my family.
"Where did you go?" Mr. Collins' voice welcomed me inside my room.
I gulped and placed my hands at the back. "I visited the grave of my friend, Mr. Collins."
"Didn't I tell you to stop going outside? It's dangerous for you and for my company," he preached. I remained in front of the door as he was staring at me from where he was.
"But no one saw me, Mr. Collins."
He stood up and walked towards the door. He's now standing in front of me. He lifted up my head and let my eyes face him.
"It's still dangerous, Maddison. I don't want you to be in trouble. You know that." I quickly nodded as he let go his hand from my chin.
He passed by on my side and left me alone in the room. I simply rolled my eyes and shut the door.
*****
The next day, I woke up from the yells and screams outside my room. After a moment, I heard the consecutive knocks from the door.
I quickly fixed myself until the door opened by itself. It showed the face of Mr. Collins that was burning in red.
"Mr. Collins, what happened?" I asked as I stood in front of him.
I didn't receive a word from him but instead I received a hard slap on my face. He was burning in anger as his eyes were killing me through his glare.
My hands were shaking as I placed it on my face. My eyes were still widened as my mouth was fully opened in shock.
"W-Why?"
"If you listened to my instructions, my company would not be at risk right now! You always put my company in trouble! You keep on making things complicated!" He shouted as I felt his pointing finger that was pushing me so hard on the head.
"I did not do anything, Mr. Collins!" I defended myself. This was the first that he touched his hands on me to hurt me. It was the first time that he shouted at me. It felt like everybody was against me.
He throwed me the folder that he was holding on his other hand. I quickly grabbed it and scanned what was inside of it.
My eyes widened again as I saw the picture of Ali and Harley in the police station. It looked like they were talking to the police.
I looked back to Mr. Collins with my widened eyes. "I didn't know what happened, Mr. Collins."
"Really? You did not know what they were doing in the police station?!" He was glaring at me terrifyingly.
"Yes, Mr. Collins." I looked down and controlled my tears from falling down.
"Well, I know what they were doing in the police station."
I quickly looked up with the widened eyes on my face. Did he know what I did?!
"Why did you do it? Why did you instruct your sister to be you and let her face the police?!" He screamed out loud in front of me.
I quickly covered my ears with my hands and the tears streamed down on my face. I couldn't believe what he was doing.
"B-Because I want her to suffer! I want her to give me the justice I want for myself!"
He chuckled in sarcasm. "She suffered a lot, Maddison. More than what you felt before. What you did is insane! You just put my company in danger!!!" His voice was really terrifying as she scolded me from what I did.
"H-How?! I know that she would not say anything about you!"
I felt his another slap on me. It was more painful than earlier.
"Are you thinking!? She will be interrogating with the investigator since she will be presenting herself with your name! There's a hundred percent that my company will be in risk!"
My whole body was trembling in fear as he preached and scolded me.
"I'll try to talk to h-her," I insisted.
"No! You're not going outside from now on! You will be locked up here as your consequence!"
He turned back and walked away on me.
"No! Mr. Collins! Please don't!" I pleaded as I followed him and prevented him from walking away.
The tears in my eyes were kept on streaming down until the door was eventually locked. I placed my hands on the door knob and pulled it with all my force.
I also slammed my other hand on the door multiple times and I kept on calling anyone to open the door. I was crying a lot as I pleased someone from outside.
I didn't receive a response from them. They were ignoring my cries and screams. I leaned my back on the door and slid my body until I fell down on the floor.
"You will never be enough, Maddison," I whispered between my cries.
