CHAPTER 22
Allison's POV
No words could explain the pain buried in my heart. The pain was turning into anger. The anger to myself because I let them involve my family with this kind of life. Why?! Why do they need to involve them?!
All I wanted was justice for the country but it seemed that justice was running away in my life. The hell!
I wiped the tears down on my face as I closed the window in the training ground. It has been three days since they were missing. I got out of the hospital three days ago after a few hours of knowing that my parents were missing.
Their contact numbers were unreachable for three days. The investigators were always here to update us about the incident that happened in the school. All the CCTVs there were already viewed.
Everyday, I spent my whole time finding them. Even though they were not my biological parents, they still made me feel their love and importance. The hell with this life! Whoever made this was really heartless!
The Vigilante's association was helping me to find them. Despite the mission we were preparing for, they also spent their time to help me.
I took a deep breath after I felt the vibration of my phone. I took it from my jeans and touched the answer button of the incoming call from an unregistered number.
Cries and screams welcomed me from the other line. Those cries were familiar.
"Hello?! Mom?!"
Horrifying laugh made my hands trembled
"Do you want to talk to Allison?!" It was said from the phone.
I closed the fist of my other hand. The hell!
"Mom! Dad!" I yelled from my place.
"Allison!!! My daughter!!!"
Sh*t! I heard a hard slap from the other line as my mom painfully cried.
"Stop!!!" The pain inside my heart was invading me. Tears flowed from eyes again. I could not bear the emotion in me as I heard them suffering.
"Did you miss them, Allison?" The voice laughed terrifyingly.
"Who are you?! What do you need?!" I gritted my teeth as the voice kept on laughing.
"Tell me! What do you need?!" I screamed on the phone as I wiped the tears that continuously streamed from my eyes.
"Easy, Allison. I will not kill them." A gunshot occurred through my ears.
"Damn you! I will kill you bitch!" I screamed and the voice kept on laughing again on the other phone.
"Really? With all the threats I make with your life, you were so slow to catch me, Allison…"
"All I wanted was your attention to me but you were busy with your so called association…"
"You want justice, right? Are you sure that you were getting justice with what you are doing?!"
The voice laughed terrifyingly again and again. I closed my eyes and calmed myself.
"What do you need?!"
"If you want to see your so-called parents alive, come and get them without the help of your association. I'll text the address."
The call ended. I gritted my teeth as I held the phone tightly. Why were they doing this to me?! The burdens in my life never left.
I quickly walked out of the training ground. As I walked down to the office, Levi showed and he was going upstairs. His eyes slightly widened when he saw my presence.
"Ali?! What happened?" He asked as he walked closer and held my shoulders.
I looked at him in the eyes and the tears streamed down again on my face. He quickly wrapped his arms on my body.
"Shhhh. Everything will be alright." He gently rubbed my back with his hand.
I let him hug me for a moment and I let my tears fall down to his shirt as I lean my head on his shoulder. For a moment, I got my strength back. With his hug, I felt that I'm not alone in the fight.
I let go of his hug and stared at him through his eyes.
"I will get my parents with that bitch! Someone kidnapped them and I need to save them," I stated as the anger in my eyes was burning the emotion that I felt.
"What do you mean?" He asked with the confusion on his face.
I grinned. "I'll tell you in Boss Rom's office." I straightly walked down and let him follow me.
When I reached the office, I opened the door and luckily I saw that Boss Rom was inside. Levi and I went in. We both sat in front of the table.
"Is there something wrong?" Boss Rom asked and he closed the laptop in front of him.
I opened my phone again and placed it on the table. I let them see the text message from the kidnapper. Both of their faces formed a confusion on it as they turned their eyes back and forth from me up to the cellphone.
"Someone kidnapped my parents and that someone called me. I need to go to that address and I'm gonna save my parents."
Boss Rom raised his eyebrow. "Tomorrow?"
I nodded. I knew it was a hard decision for me to choose between the mission and my parents but I could feel that I needed to save them first than anything else. There was something inside me that was pushing me to make an action as soon as possible.
"The address is the same place for our mission tomorrow, Ali."
Widened eyes showed on my face. "What?!"
I never read the message since I received it. Levi and I faced the cellphone and read the text message that I've received. It's confirmed. The hell!
"What should we do now?!" Levi asked, scratching the back of his neck.
"Same plan. The difference is Ali will be taking care of his parents. She will face the kidnapper alone and our job is to help her if something happens," Boss Rom explained.
After we discussed the changes, Boss Rom called a meeting for the Vigilantes. Same discussion went through the meeting. Throughout the meeting, I was preoccupied with my thoughts.
Who could be the person behind it? Who was the kidnapper slash manipulator of everything?
I blinked multiple times as I felt the vibration inside my jacket. I looked for it and it was another text message from the evil.
"You can't fool me, Allison. In just one wrong move, everyone will vanish in your life."
*****
The next day, I went to the association building earlier than the time schedule. I trained myself quicker than I could do. This must be the real fight. I fastly shot all the metal boards in the training ground.
I stopped when I heard the ringtone of my phone. The incoming call was from Harley.
"Hey." I greeted him nicely.
"Ali, I'm here outside the association building."
"Really? You're early, huh? Wait for me. I'll go down there."
I ended the call and quickly cleaned the mess I made. That man was impatient so I needed to come down as soon as possible and look for him.
Harley was set up again. Someone faked the documents and pictures that they showed on me. It was all a show. It was all planned. I already knew it because after I sent him away I quickly ran for him.
"Harley!" I called as I opened the gate again. He was slowly walking away from our house. He turned his back from me while wearing the confusion on his face.
"It was not true! All I said was not true! It's just a show, Harley!"
"What do you mean?" His gaze was glued on me.
"Someone was manipulating us! So, let's pretend that I was angry with you and let the manipulator know that I believed all their plans."
He smirked. "I knew it! I will still guard you and your parents from a distance. If something happens, I'll be there as soon as you need me."
He fulfilled his promise. He was there when I was in danger. He was there when I was in need. I formed a smile as I saw him standing and leaning on the wall while his hands were in his pocket.
"What an early bird," I joked despite the situation I had.
He only chuckled and let me stay on his side. We waited for the other members of the association.
Minutes later, Levi was coming to our place. I would think that he came from his apartment. He was raising his eyebrow as he looked at both of us.
"What was he doing here?" The electricity was occuring between their eyes.
"He'll be part of the team for now."
"What? Did Boss Rom allow him?!" Frustration showed on his face.
I grinned. "Yeah. He will be your temporary Vigilante partner." I and Harley chuckled.
He sighed and scratched his head. I knew how much he hated Harley but I wanted them to become good friends and tandem. I knew that everything would be great when they worked together.
The members were completed after a few moments. They were already wearing the protective shields. Tania walked towards our place. She gave me protective gear. I inserted it with my jeans and jacket likewise with the gun in my hidden pocket.
"Is everything okay now? Are you all ready, Vigilantes?" Boss Rom questioned as he showed from his office.
I'm always ready and prepared. Wait for me Mom and Dad.
I looked at all the members coming with us. "Where is Maddison?" I asked.
"I'm here!" Our eyes turned to the woman that was running towards the building. She was running out of breath as she stood up beside the place of Levi.
I looked at her from top to bottom. She seemed different today. Her hair was more curly and her aura seemed different. She turned her eyes on me and smiled. I smiled back and looked away.
"Alright! Let's go! As much as possible, I would hope that no one would be hurt with this fight and mission," Boss Rom reminded.
As we walked towards our designated van, I took my phone out of my pocket because of the text message I've received again.
"Just you, Ali. Get them by yourself. I prepared a surprise for you."
I put it back in my pocket and went inside the van. I formed a serious face throughout the ride. I did not know what would happen but all I wanted now was to save them.
Throughout the ride, I focused myself on the road. I had been riding on a long journey but there was a part of me that I was longing for. I was longing to figure it out.
I took a deep breath after the van stopped. I glanced outside again. We were here.
"Take care, Ali. We could hear what would happen throught the tiny recorder on your jacket," Boss Rom stated.
I nodded and turned my eyes to Harley and Levi. "I trust the both of you."
I stepped down from the van after I said those words. I hid my face with the headgear of the jacket as I walked to the abandoned area at the back of the Over Heiress Company.
As I quickly made a footsteps, I reached the small room at the back of the huge building. The door slightly opened and it only showed an ample shadow of the door.
I silently opened it and went inside. Darkness welcomed me in the room. The dust and mess were really evident inside. There was also a small table on my right side.
I turned my eyes around and I stuck when I saw my parents being tied on the chair and the tape was placed on their lips. My knees trembled as I saw how they looked. They were having a hard time breathing and they could not even move their body.
I quickly ran towards them. "Mom! Dad!" I cried. The moment they turned their eyes on me, the tears in my eyes fell down again.
They were also crying in pain as they looked at me. I quickly removed the tape on their lips and hugged them tightly. The pain inside my heart occurred again as I witnessed their situation.
I kept my arms wrapped on them. "I'm already here. I'm going to save the both of you."
"Aww. What a happy family," the voice occurred at my back. This time it was really familiar. I never thought that she would be the person behind this.
I grinned and let go from our hugs. It would be nice if I faced her. It would be great if we faced each other.
When I was about to turn my back on her, the pain in my head occured. I closed my eyes for a moment as my feet were trembling. I could not even move to attack her.
"Why are you doing this?!" I angrily asked as I twisted my lips in pain.
After a moment, I opened my eyes again and this time I was ready to face her.
But before I wanted to see her, I felt the hard thing throwed and beaten on my head. It was really hard like wood.
I felt it for the second time. This time it was really painful as hell. I screamed out loud in pain as my parents cried in front of me.
"You deserved it my twin sister." She laughed terrifyingly.
And the moment that I was beaten from her again, my sight slowly turned into blur. Everything that I was seeing vanished and I could feel the dizziness in my head.
Another beat from her and I already fell down on the floor until all were turned into black.
