"Let's just look," you say, elbowing your way past Steve and reaching for the tarp. Before he can protest, an explosion of motion sends you careening backward. When you blink, a man with wild eyes and even wilder hair has you shoved against the wall of the boathouse. You try to put your head down to get a better look at him and feel something sharp. You wince and look upward when you realize-he's got a weapon pointed at your neck.

Steve looks equal parts furious and scared for you, with furrowed brows and a pale face. He charges forward to the mystery man, and the weapon moves ever-so-closer to your skin.

"Let them go!" Steve barks, glancing between you and your captor, hesitant to step closer again for fear of triggering your captor to do something really, really stupid.

Dustin begs the mystery man-Eddie, he calls him-to let you go. Dustin introduces everyone and explains that you're Steve's partner. That you are all here to help him.

Eddie doesn't seem to believe it, but he steps back and lets you go. Dizzy with adrenaline, you stumble to the back of the group and into Steve's waiting arms.

"I got you," he mumbles, hugging you tightly. He glowers at Eddie over your shoulder. "I got you. You're good."

You calm your breathing as Steve ushers you to sit on an upside-down box. He keeps an arm around you as Dustin tells Eddie to, "Go on, Eddie. Tell us what you saw."
