CHAPTER 2.5
Marina’s POV
I was wearing a loose short skirt today and I could feel the warmth of his palm to my core as he squeezed me from time to time. This was not going well, we haven’t answered any of their questions and Satan, the MC leader, was getting impatient with us. Well, not all of us, mostly Anna, who started glaring at him once again. “You want to know what happened to each of us, but how could that help you with finding Madelyn?” Nova asked, concerned now. None of us liked to talk about any of this shit, but we had to. “That is for us to know and you women not to.” Satan growled, not to Nova, but Anna, as if he knew she was the one holding us back.
“Fine.” Anna snapped back at him. She stood up straighter now looking at me and then Rift for some reason. Shaking her head, she sighed and looked at me again. “There is something we haven’t told you Marina.” Anna started and I tensed, not knowing what to expect. “As you know, you don’t have a memory of what happened a year ago at St. Lawrence's clubhouse.” Anna started and I shivered in fear, “You… You mean the day we got caught again.” I asked in a small voice, Rift’s hand squeezing me once again and I felt myself calm just a little, but not enough. Anna closed her eyes in defeat and shook her head, swallowing down a lump in her throat as I did so myself.
“Yes, that goddamned day.” Anna breathed and opened her eyes once more. This isn’t good, this can’t be happening! “I don’t want to know!” I screamed at her standing up now and she flinched, blinking a few times as she went rigid in her seat, not saying anything now. “Marina, you need to hear this, please.” Cici pleaded with me as she helped me sit down. I did not want to! I knew, I knew that my nightmares might be true, or some of them, but I did not want to confirm it, I did not need to do that! I breathed as slowly as I could, trying to calm down, but it wasn’t working!
“That day…” Anna started again, but stopped, wincing as a memory passed her grey eyes once again. “That day, you, Cecilia and I went to that club for a reason. Do you remember that goddamn reason?” Anna asked, trying not to direct her anger at me, and I knew she wasn’t pissed off at me, but whatever had happened in that place, and that made me even more scared as a bead of sweat dripped down the back of my neck. Rift shifted next to me but I couldn’t for the life of me focus on him at the moment.
“I- I think it was because you had a lead on whoever got Silvie away from us.” I said in a small voice and Anna banged her palm on the table, glaring at me, pain crossing her now dark eyes as she locked her jaw so tightly, I thought it might snap. I knew the three of them did not like me bringing up Silvie, and it made sense, “I am sorry, I know you guys don’t like me bringing her up. What happened to her was awful.” I said and casted my eyes downwards, looking at my now interlace fingers with Rift’s as he squeezed me reassuringly once more.
“No! That bitch deserved to die and I am glad I did the world a fucking favour!” Anna roared and the room went dead quiet. “You killed her?” I asked in shock, not because of Anna killing anyone, but her killing Silvie, one of her own, was what made me gasp in horror. Something was way off here.
“Wh- what do you mean?” I asked, looking around now. Spade and Shaw were looking at me, worry in their eyes, it surprised me that Shaw even cared. Satan had narrowed his eyes at Anna as Riot and Rebel looked at her with wide eyes. “She set me up, set us all up!” she continued, pacing up and down the room like a caged animal. “Anna, please, calm down. You know it wasn’t your fault right?” Cici asked, standing up again as she wanted to approach Anna but daren’t do so. “Of course it was my fucking fault!” Anna fired back at her and then turned to look my way once again, eyes filling with regret as she bit her bottom lip, trying not to let out her anger, but in vain doing so.
A scream and a curse escaped her lips as well as a loud thud from the chair she had kicked over the wall, the said chair breaking in pieces. “It’s all my fucking fault!” she continued angrily. Nova had also risen now, looking at Cici with concern, but she didn’t approach either.. All of us knew that if she lost it again, there was no going back for Anna.
