I was laying down on the sand when I met him. The boy who I had no idea would bring so much suffering.

"Hello there," I heard a voice say. I remember those were the very first words I heard him say... Rafael...

But the one who said it this time was... different. Hearing the voice made me feel... cold. And that was really odd, as I was on one of the warmest planets in the solar system... AND I WAS IN MY BELOVED SAND!

"Go away." I turned over and drowned myself further in the sand I had been laying in since the day I returned.

I heard a thump. Someone had fell onto the sand. This stranger seemed rather determined to talk to me.

"WHAT DO YOU WANT?!" I yelled from my sandy surroundings. I yelled because I was muffled by my surroundings and just wanted to be alone.

"A FRIEND!" The voice rang out to me, loud and clear, even though he was in the sand.

I poked my head out and looked at him.

"What did you say?" He poked his head out of the sand as well.

"A friend," he repeated. "I said 'A friend'... I'm Edric. I'm from the Dwarf Observatory."

"Rosaline... from here."

"Nice to meet you."

"You too... I just have one question."

"Ask away."

"Why are you here?"
