Various video packages play detailing the events of past Raw and SmackDown Lives' and the rivalries that had been born and the matches that had been created for the card for the "Biggest Party of the Summer" and the screen descended to black.

The camera then pans inside the Barclays Center with WWE's always ravenous and loyal fanbase as one of company veteran presences in Michael Cole begins to speak.

MC: And indeed this is the biggest party of the summer, hello everyone and welcome to the 31st annual Summerslam emanating from the gorgeous Barclays Center here in Brooklyn and guys things are going to be white-hot tonight.

Coach: Yes sir, if it was any indication from what we witnessed on the pre-show card, then the rest of Summerslam will absolutely be fun to watch.

Corey: I just wished I didn't have to commentate with you two bozos but hey I'd rather not miss the action so I'll settle for the torture.

1 1/2 hours later....

The night went off without a hitch; the WWE Universe had been captivated by some goose-bump inducing action, some electric entrances, the crowning of a few new champions namely Randy Orton, who after nearly 20 years in the business finally became a grand-slam champion by capturing the United States Championship by hitting "Cien" Almas with an absolutely vicious yet graceful RKO outta nowhere and then there was Ronda Rousey tapping out the equally popular Asuka with a painful knee-bar thus crowning the "Baddest Woman on the Planet" with the Raw Women's Championship. The Universe also got to witness some deserving NXT Superstars show up such as Aleister Black who had a feud of the year candidate with the WWE Champion and appeared as the NXT Champion to shut Kevin Owens' mouth when the prizefighter ran down the WWE Universe and Black hit Kevin with Black Mass much to cheers and adoration of the fans and the crowd inside the arena absolutely went nuts when Johnny Gargano accepted the Monster Among Men's Intercontinental Championship open challenge. Even though Gargano lost the match, Strowman who like Johnny was a babyface shook hands with the man as a sign of respect. Most champions retained their titles with the most recent being the Bludgeon Brothers retaining the Tag Team titles against the Usos and New Day, and Finn Balor captured the Universal Championship for the second time against the former champion Roman Reigns and fellow challenger Seth Rollins. Just recently two old-time friends in Fergal and Trevion had been talking.

Fergal: Man its like Deja Vu all over again with the Universal Championship; except this time my shoulder isn't torn from the socket.

Trevion: I feel ya brother, remember when we won the tag team titles back in Japan and I had the broken wrist?

Fergal: Oh God don't get me started on that; the way your lower arm was just dangling lad, luckily there was a hospital across the street.

Trevion: Yeah good times, but let's hold on to these titles so we'll meet at Survivor Series; The Demon King vs The Chaos King and give the fans a dream match that they'll tell their grandchildren and great-grandchildren about.

Fergal: Lad, you got yourself a deal and heads up--

Fergal is too late to warn his young friend as Trevion's fiancée Cassie comes out of the blue and jumps on his back, as she was fresh from successfully defending her title from her on-screen rival yet recent close friend Mercedes and she seemed really happy and not just from the taste of victory but from something completely else.

Fergal: I'll leave you to it Trevion.

Trevion: Unless you're my fiancée, get off me.

Cassie: It's me baby relax...

Trevion: What're you supposed to be a spider-monkey?

Cassie: You're spider-monkey, yes... but I've gotta tell you something my love.

Trevion: You got us on Fear-Factor??? You know how much I love that show!!!

Cassie: Not quite... you're looking at one of the newest members of the Total Divas sorority come Season 8!!!

Trevion: No way you're lying!!

Cassie: This is the truth and I quote from E! Network "Peyton Royce, Billie Kay, Charlotte Flair, Becky Lynch, Sasha Banks, and Bayley to join Season Eight of Total Divas this fall"!!!

Trevion: Well I'm happy to see my fiancée is getting some T.V. Exposure outside the ring but what does this have to do with me.

Cassie: You're going to be on the show too, all the ladies significant others are on the show; meaning Mikaze, Shane, Aaron(Bayley's fiancé), Luke, and my sexy ass fiancé are all apart of the show!!

Trevion: We'll celebrate later, but I gotta match to win.

Cassie: I want to be in your corner babe...

Trevion: No, absolutely not, out of the question.

Cassie: Trevion, I'm a big girl you can trust me and plus with the Miztourage out there, you're gonna need some backup.

Trevion: Ok fine but when things get hellacious out there and I say get out of there you get going understood?

Cassie: Ok babe I got it.

Trevion: Good now give me a good luck kiss and hop on, we're heading for gorilla.

Cassie then kisses her man on the cheek and hops on his back as the love-struck couple headed for gorilla.

In Gorilla:

Mike, Taylor, Joe and the returning Maryse were in gorilla waiting on Trevion

Trevion: Hey you four sorry I'm late.

Mike: Hey man its no trouble, I take it that's Cassie behind you.

Cassie: How'd you know?

All five present: Because you're the only person with a semblance of violet hair that isn't Asuka or Mercedes.

Maryse: So do we know who wins tonight?

Trevion: I win but Mike don't be afraid to get down and dirty with kendo sticks, steel chairs or anything you desire; let's give these fans something to talk about for years.

Mike: I agree, The A-Lister and The King of Chaos sharing the ring for the second time ever?? This'll be fun...

Trevion: Whatever happened to AWESSSOOMME?

Mike: Don't worry I'll be saying that when I'm a two-time WWE Champion.

Trevion: We'll see about that dude...

Mike's music plays throughout the arena

Mike: My cue... see you out there champ.

With that Mike, Joe and Taylor exited gorilla and walked through the curtain, leaving Trevion and Cassie with the mother of one.

Cassie: So how's the little one doing Maryse?

Maryse: Quite well, I mean aside from the unusual times she wakes up and constant crying at night, little Annalise has been an angel to Mike and I.

Cassie: I'm glad to hear it..

Trevion: Shit my music is hitting, bye babe and I promise I won't hurt Mike too bad Maryse...

Maryse: You two just steal the show alright!!!(To Cassie) So aside from the wedding, are you ready for season eight?

Cassie: I mean I'm still getting over all what has happened over the past couple of months... WrestleMania, the engagement, now Total Divas; I mean what did I do to deserve all these blessings.

Maryse: Hey I was just like you Cassie, I was wondering what I did to deserve everything in my life, the Divas' championship, Mike, my own T.V. show, and now Annalise... I just thank God for everything he's blessed me with.

Cassie: I feel you there Maryse... Hey look they're starting finally.

Miz(with Miztourage) vs. Alex Thunder (WWE Championship Match; Brooklyn Street Fight)

In the final match of the night, WWE saved the best for last having the Hollywood A-Lister Miz challenging the reigning WWE Champion in the form of the King of Chaos... The two started off with the usual elbow-collar tie-up but business picked up after Miz's cronies distracted Thunder and Miz capitalized with a low-blow, taking full advantage of the no-disqualification ruling of the match. Miz then went to work on the champs' legs softening them up for the figure-four which Thunder got out of easily and Thunder proceeded to beat down the most Must-See Superstar to the point where he accidentally busted the Miz's cheek open. Then the tools of destruction came out to play as Thunder brought out his signature kendo stick that he affectionately dubbed the "Lightning Switch" and lit up Miz's back like there was no tomorrow. The action then spilled to the outside where the Miztourage once again interfered however this time Thunder was ready for as he brought a steel chair to chase Miz's insurance policy out of the arena. As he approached his opponent, Miz flipped Alex into the announce table, shattering it into hundreds of pieces. Miz dragged his limp body into the ring for a near fall. Miz, frustrated at this point decides to go for the shining wizard and garners yet another two-count. Miz got a little greedy and suffered a superkick for his trouble. Thunder gets a near fall and as he was attempting for the jackknife powerbomb, Maryse interfered and used a fire extinguisher to blind the champion who walked right into a Skull-Crushing Finale which much to the chagrin of the Miz only received a 2.99 near-fall, upsetting the former Intercontinental Champion. Thunder's fiancée Peyton Royce who successfully defended the SmackDown Women's Championship against Sasha Banks came out with a kendo stick of her and bashed it against the Blonde Bombshell's back thus chasing the Miz's only help away from ringside. The grizzled veteran refocused his aggression towards the helpless champion but that proved to be his downfall and Alex Thunder caught him flush a superkick and then the very move that landed the young man his first world championship in WWE with the Thunderbolt to retain the WWE Championship in easily the Match of the Year.

Result: Alex Thunder defeated The Miz to retain the WWE Championship

Grade: A-

Highlights:

Analysis

This writer believes that Miz and Thunder should have a feud that'll build eventually to next year's WrestleMania or at the very least the Royal Rumble. These two gelled so well together that I would suggest the rivalry continue up until Hell in a Cell, where the Miztourage, Maryse and Peyton Royce can't interfere.

The tense showdown between Royce and Maryse was palpable as both were rooting for their significant other helping them become champion in any way, shape or form. Might this be teasing Maryse getting back in the ring? One can only dream given she appeared at last year's WrestleMania but that seemed to be a one-time thing.

Great match all around and even though Miz could've easily won here, booking Thunder to retain tonight was ultimately the smart move to make. Miz doesn't need a world title reign to necessarily prove how far he's come in his career.

Backstage, Cassie and Trevion were packing up and discussing their wedding which was in a matter of weeks.

Trevion: So you got Bridesmaids all set?

Cassie: Yeah, Lauren is my Maid-of-Honor with Dasha, Jessica, Ashley, Pamela, Mercedes, Rebecca, Renee, Tracey and Leah all as Bridesmaids; What about you do you have everything squared away?

Trevion: Oh yeah, Fergal is my Best Man while Doc, Chad, Allen, Luke, Roderick, Matt, both Tom's, Kevin, Paul and Rami are all my groomsmen.

Cassie: What about our Honeymoon?

Trevion: Sorry, that's classified information Cassie; I want it to be a surprise for you.

Cassie(pouting): Oh you're no fun...

Trevion: You weren't saying that earlier this morning in our hotel room.

Cassie blushes and Trevion smirks...

Trevion: Speaking of hotels, I believe I said I'd owe you for us winning and defending our titles with succession.

Cassie: Not tonight sweetheart, I'm sore because of the hell Mercedes and I put each other through... rain-check?

Trevion: I could settle for a cuddle session and pop in a couple movies that I brought from home.

Cassie: Any time I get to spend with you baby is a great way to close out my day.

Trevion: I couldn't agree with you anymore doll-face, come on that queen sized bed is calling my name.

Cassie: Let's go then my Hero-Man.

Cassie and Trevion then headed for the local luxury hotel where most WWE superstars had set up shop while they were in Gotham City for Summerslam and the second the two got there, they fell into each other arms with sleep coming soon after as they were getting closer and closer to the day they would be united in Holy Matrimony....
