Ever wished the Mixed Match challenge happened during the middle of the year? Ever wish Asuka wasn't even involved so we wouldn't know who the obvious winner was? Well here's my spin on the MMC with everyone's favorite iconic couple!!!!! This will of course be post-WrestleMania, meaning Cassie and Trevion are the top champions of SmackDown Live.... Anyway guys enjoy!!!!

2 months after WrestleMania and 1 month after Trevion and Cassie got engaged...

After a recent house show has wrapped which saw Cassie defend the SmackDown Women's Championship successfully against Sarah Logan of the Riott Squad and Trevion defend the WWE Championship successfully against Sami Zayn, Jinder Mahal and AJ Styles in a fatal-four way elimination-style match...

Cassie had finished cooling off after her most recent match when one of her superiors in Mark Carrano had just approached her.

Mark: Cassie, just the lady I'm looking for!

Cassie: Hiya Mark, what's up?

Mark: Walk with me for a bit...

After about fifteen minutes Mark had talked to Cassie about the recently created mixed match challenge WWE wanted to try out and the company wanted their SmackDown Women's Champion to be a part of the fold.

Cassie: I'm excited you guys want me to be apart of this I really am, but where does this leave my fiancé?

Mark: Don't worry we just talked to Trevion and rest assured he's all-in on being a part of this, we just wanted to talk to you and see if you were interested. And seeing as how both of your fan bases know you're engaged to one another, the masses would be in contempt if you two weren't paired with one another.

Cassie: Well if my man is in, then you can count on me to be apart of this too.

Mark: Great, that's one less pairing I have to worry about... Can't wait to see you two tear it up on Facebook Watch!!! Good luck!

Cassie: Thanks Mark!

1 week later post-SmackDown Live...

Cassie is walking around the arena having the night off as she would be interviewed by Dasha to find out her partner for the Mixed Match Challenge... Of course Cassie already knew who her male equal would be. She then stops to see the welcoming sight of Team Blue's signature backstage interviewer.

Dasha: Hey girlfriend congratulations on your engagement last month!!!

Cassie: Thanks Dasha, and I meant to give this to you but I never had the time to.

Cassie then hands Dasha one wedding invite that entailed her to be apart of the most iconic wedding ever in a matter of months.

Dasha: You didn't have to do this Cassie...

Cassie: I really have to Dasha; I mean you are one of my closest friends here in WWE and I already have my Maid of Honor set with Lauren having that position but I still have a spot on my Bridesmaids open? So what do you say, are you in?

Dasha: Of course girl you know I got you!!

Cameraman: Hey guys were going live in 10.. 9.. 8.. 7.. 6.. 5.. 4.. 3.. 2..

Dasha: I'm standing here with the SmackDown Women's Champion Peyton Royce. Now Peyton, you've been on fire ever since winning the first ever All-Women's Royal Rumble Match, defeating your former best friend Billie Kay at Fastlane and finally winning the SmackDown Women's Championship at WrestleMania a couple months ago... Now you're going to be a part of the first Mixed Match Challenge. Do you feel this validates all the work you've put in to be where you are at right now?

Cassie: Dasha, I welcome all challengers and practically live by the sayings "To be the best, you got to beat the best" which I have and "Clear Eyes, Full Heart, Can't Lose" which I have plenty of... so while I'm glad to be apart of the first Mixed Match Challenge, no that doesn't validate anything(looking at blue/white championship) the SmackDown Women's championship validates any and everything I've done... I've sacrificed my blood, sweat and tears to hold this Iconic championship and now that it's mine, the only way I lose it is if someone is better than me for one night.

Dasha: Well Peyton, the time has come to find out who you're partner is going to be in the first ever Mixed Match Challenge, good luck!!

Cassie: Thanks Dasha!

Cassie then enters Shane and Daniel's office where the Commissioner and General Manager are waiting on the champion of their women's division.

Daniel: Hey there Peyton, ready to find out who you're partner is?

Cassie: Hey guys, I was born ready for this... why do you think I'm the SmackDown Women's Champion today.

Shane: Man, I love your attitude Peyton, so you know we needed to find a partner who could match your fierceness and attitude.

Zack Ryder then appears out of the blue

Zack: WOO WOO WOO!! You KNOW It!!

Daniel: Zack, what are you doing here?

Zack: I thought I was apart of the Mixed Match Challenge...

Shane: You are but you're not Peyton's partner, we'll reveal your partner next week ok?

Zack, downtrodden then leaves off-screen

Daniel: Sorry about that, now are you ready to meet your partner?

Peyton: Lets do it!!

Shane: You might know this fellow because like you he is a champion here on SmackDown Live, you could say he likes to be High Voltage at times...

Cassie plays as if she doesn't know who her superior is talking about when camera shifts to an awaiting Trevion in his signature clothes.

Cassie: NO WAY... MY FIANCE IS MY PARTNER?!?!

Trevion: Believe it baby girl the WWE Champion, more importantly your soon-to-be husband is your partner in the mixed match challenge...

Cassie jumps in her fiancé's arms and hugs him for dear life

Cassie(To Shane and Daniel): You might as well give us the $100,000 Dollars now Shane and Daniel because it's game over for the other teams.

Trevion: Exactly no other team has more chemistry than the two of us so to any teams that have to face come take this ass whooping like the men and women you are because Team Iconic Chaos is in it to win it!!!

ROUND ONE:

One Chance by CFO$ plays as Michael Cole begins to speak

Cole: And we close out round one with a bang as the team known as the Golden Rose takes on the engaged couple pairing of SmackDown Women's Champion Peyton Royce and her fiancé the WWE Champion Alex Thunder!! And earlier tonight there was some trash talking going on between the two teams.

Mandy and Goldie's Promo:

Mandy: Alex Thunder and Peyton Royce, you think you're the buzzsaw of this tournament please.

Goldust: Hmmm you maybe the champions of SmackDown, but tonight I have a new masterpiece created with my co-director called Heartbreak and you two are the main stars of this feature film and it will be absolutely Iconic

Mandy does Goldust's chomp and then it shifts to Trevion and Cassie

Cassie: The Golden Rose?? That's what they're calling themselves?? Don't make us laugh!

Trevion: Hey Goldust I got a movie idea for ya; It's called Wrath of Iconic Thunder and it goes like this, I break your back and twist you like a pretzel and Mandy gets her face readjusted courtesy of my beautiful fiancée's knee. You two will get an Oscar nomination but first come get some Venus Voltage to spark your lives up.

Cassie and Trevion share a kiss to end the promo.

Announcer: The following mixed tag team is scheduled for one fall, introducing first from Hollywood, California weighing in at 232 lbs., Goldust!!!!

Stars in the Night by CFO$ plays

Announcer: And his tag team partner representing Absolution, Mandy Rose!!!

CG: Here she comes, God's Greatest Creation, Mandy Rose!!!

Beth Phoenix: Ok playboy, keep your tongue in your mouth...

Cole just snickers.

Cole: And again RoseGold representing the charity Hire Heroes USA.

A video package is shown of Mandy and Dustin kicking it with some firefighters, paramedics and other emergency personnel

Sultry (XO) by CFO$ plays and Cassie comes out to cheers and adoration from the WWE Universe

Announcer: And their opponents, first from Sydney, Australia she is the SmackDown Women's Champion, Peyton Royce!!!!

Then Awake and Alive by Skillet plays throughout the arena and an even bigger pop for Cassie's significant other is heard throughout the arena

Announcer:  And her tag team partner from St. Louis, Missouri weighing in at 217 lbs. he is the WWE Champion, Alex Thunder!!!!

Trevion makes his way down the ramp and gets a kiss on the cheek from Cassie.

Cole: Beth, you said Peyton and Alex were the heavy favorites to win it all.

Beth: I did and I'm sticking with my pick, these two have proven they're not flashes in the pan, they've proven why they're top champs on SmackDown Live and not to mention the fact they're engaged so if they keep the kissy faces to a minimum then yes, Peyton and Alex will in my mind be the winners of this tourney.

Graves: And the most iconic couple in WWE representing the anti-animal abuse agency known as American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals aka the ASPCA.

A video package is shown of Trevion and Cassie playing with a local Orlando shelters puppies, cats, other pets and helping take care of abandoned animals needs and essentials.

Result: Peyton Royce and Alex Thunder defeated Mandy Rose and Goldust

Highlights:

Mandy Rose hits an avalanche belly to back suplex to Peyton Royce.

Mandy slaps Thunder which completely pissed off the WWE Champ's significant other.

Goldust attempts a Final-Cut but is met by a springboard knee strike courtesy of Royce

Royce and Thunder nail stereo Phoenix Splashes to win the match

Grade: B+

Assessment: The action was a mixture of high paced, slow/methodical and everything in-between.

The result was pretty obvious as to who would but that didn't stop the Golden Rose from giving the Iconic Couple everything they could handle.

It looked nasty at first, but Thunder sold Goldie's Powerbomb on the barricade to a tee.

The match itself was amazing but this writer can't wait for the semifinal match between the couples of Rusev/Lana and Royce/Thunder.

After the MMC...

After wrapping up their night our couple headed back home and went to sleep but Cassie went right to her phone as she began to plan a surprise...
