3. Lies
"The world is nothing but thread of lies."

Her eyes flew open with a jerk. The sudden bright lights hurt eyes making her close them tightly. So tight that it hurt to close them. Her head spin hard and she forgot where she was.
Her laboured breath turned into frantic one, as she looked around her.
There was an eerie crisp around her in the air. It suffocated her choking her. The room of her walls drew closer and closer and she forgot to breath. Laying back on the bed she tried to breath slowly and deeply. What was happening? She don't know a single word answer to her own question.
Exhaling a shaky breath she got up ignoring her shaking heart. Softly padding to the living room, she called,-
"Marwan, I am getting late. Why didn't you woke me up?"
Her question got stuck in her throat as her eyes assessed the empty living room.
Stepping on the stairs she ran to her brother's room only to find it empty. Her breath grew frantic by each passing second as opened every door on that floor. Tears stung in her eyes, scrutinizing every small details of the room. But, it was empty. Not only her siblings were gone but their belongings too. No trace of any clothes or their stuff.
"I-i know you all are messing with me. Trust me, if I got to know about who was the one with idea I will not leave you and this is not an-" her words dried down as she looked at herself in the mirror.
It was not her reflection but a simple sticky note in colour red, red. How could she forget it? How could she forget today's date? How could she forget she was warned about today's date.
July-23-2024
Gulping a hard lump she walked to the note, slowly, gingerly. Her shaky fingers curled around her own dress as she softly traced the edges of the small paper.
A sudden flashback startled her with the small touch making her jump back as tears rushed into her eyes.
Her face morphed into pain, anguish, anger and frustration.
How could she forget the smallest thing? A small date.
She totally remember not going to bed, she remembers how her mother confronted her about her lost bracelet. Bracelet.
Her shaky fingers curled around her own wrist to find the bracelet. But, she couldn't feel the gold metal anymore. Which only increased her horrified thoughts. This was not a dream. She was abandoned out of no where. She didn't have a family anymore.
Curling herself into a ball she cried with hushed sobs and then sue screamed. A blood curling scream hit her own ears, she screamed until her throat dried, until her tears dried, until she couldn't think anymore.
But, she didn't give up. Straightening herself, she walked out of the house, her steps falling hard on the tiled floor as she walked to her neighbour.
She didn't knocked, her hand hurt but she banged; banged as hard as she can.
"Where is my family?"
The question was straight away thrown to the middle aged woman's face and she looked at her as if she came from mars.
"You don't know."
"Where is my family?"
"You have been living alone, my dear." The gentle voice of the lady burned her soul.
"No, I have a family. We are four siblings. My mother is a housewife and my father has a printing press." Her words came out hard and cold.
"My dear, I guess you had a dream about. You have lived here all alone." The lady's words faded in air as she turned away from her and went back into her house, not home anymore.
These walls where once her giggles echoed, now were haunting her, taunting her. What happened that she lose everything without even fighting? What changed? A date. But, her whole changed too.
Once upon a time, she lived happily with her family even with the silent dispute going between her and them.
And now, in present. She didn't need to fight for anything, she got no one to stop her from pursuing her dreams. But, this wasn't the stop she wanted. How could a prayer be accepted when she didn't even thought about it?
She felt like suddenly she was stripped off of her close, without any mercy. This wasn't about being ashamed or embarrassed. This was about being lonely. She was already alone. The world didn't to rub it on her like that, like stealing away her happiness. Like erasing her own family like the mist in the noon.
A flame ignited her soul burning it; sadness turned into rage. A rage her own soul was scared of she never wanted to do what she was going to do, but alas; she was stripped away of all the sane choices.
The sudden rigid ness in her body helped her to walk to her and she closed her eyes before opening then opening with eyes full of fire. But, wasn't the best time to perform what she was going to do. Inhaling a deep breath she plopped herself on the bed and laid wide awake with her every vein bursting with rage. Nodding her head in 'no', she closed her eyes and let the tears stream down her face, wetting her pillow.
She was becoming insane with each passing second but she couldn't do anything other then waiting. Waiting for the evening, waiting the darkness to elope away with her body. A claw of fear shook her heart wildly but she shrugged it away with a shake of her head and closed her eyes, muttering the words she never thought she would say,- "be evil for the world is evil."
Her brain worked harder as realised something, finally. And got up with a jerk as her eyes widened with a fraction and something in between her which left a brewing storm in her soul.
Her family wasn't the first family to disappear in the town for the first time.
How many times, were the fates changed like this? How many souls were forced to go through this? How many souls shattered with the sudden disappearance of their family? But, in all these, how could she be the one remember all of these? How? Either it was all a lie. Or she was going to lie about it for a while.
Ayo everyone!!!
I already told you all to wait for me, and my story we will eventually get there, but you all just wouldn't listen to me.
This is my over thinking talking.
Any way how was the chapter?
