Alex~22

Mood: Making all Things New (video above)

I woke up to the sun filtering gently through the blinds and stretched, careful of straining my nerves.

I glanced around the room.

It was definitely home-y-er than my last room. My mom had brought me a purple blanket from my bed and a couple of my sketchbooks in the gray box that I always hide them in. I'm tempted to sketch but the hard pencil would just hurt to much. Although, the doctors did say I was doing better. If I kept my stress to a minimum I would be better within a week.

I also talked to them about having Isaac use his healing powers. They seemed iffy, but, to me, it helped and comforted me, which kept stress to a minimum so

I sunk back into my mattress with a blissful smile. Closing my eyes, I thought about how my little group was doing.

The door creaked open and I cracked one eye open. It was Isaac.

"Oh, shes asleep," he whispered to himself.

I tried not to smile. I heard his approaching footsteps and couldn't help but smirk.

"Well," he said happily sarcastic, "I guess she wont get her little surprise."

Surprise? Since when has he surprised me?

"Would have been her first surprise, to bad."

What can you read minds now, bub?

"Oh, Alexia," he laughed.

I giggled. "Aren't you supposed to be quiet, mister?" He laughed. "Now gimmie, gimmie!"

"Okay," he whispered in my ear, "but you gotta close your eyes."

I slid them shut and stuck out my arms.

"Three, two," he whispered, I could feel his breath on my cheek, "one."

I felt him leaning in and tilted my head just enough that his kiss landed on my lips. The feeling soothed my nerves and I lifted my head up. The hospital bed sunk beside me. I sat up and he straddled me. I lifted my arms around his neck and slowly ran my fingers through his hair. He carefully wrapped his arms around me. We pulled away and rested our foreheads against each others.

"How are you feeling?" he asked breathlessly.

"Well, better now," I smirked looking into his bright blue eyes.

He laughed shyly, but the smile fell from his lips and he looked down.

"What's wrong?" I asked searching his face for any answers.

"I-I saw something," he sighed.

"When? What?"

"When I was at my house I had a vision." He looked up at me. "Tristan. He- he isn't who he says he is."

I gasped. "How do you know?'

"He was at a bar. He was making out with some blonde chick in a tight leather get up."

"Oh, so you noticed how tight it was?" I asked with my eyebrow raised crossing my arms.

Isaac blushed. "No, I'm just saying it was scandalous and something so far from Meg's style."

"Oh! No!" I shook my head and covered my mouth. "Meg's going to be crushed!"

"That's why I wanted to tell you. I don't know how to tell her."

"I mean, its her first advanced since him. I don't think shell take another cheater very well."

"I'm not going to sit here and let her be used!"

"I'm not saying that, baby. I just need to let her down easy."

"Well, just do it soon, so I can knock his lights out."

"Because that went so well the last time," I rolled my eyes.

"Has he talked to her since?'

"Well, no, but-"

"Then mission accomplished."

"Okay I'll talk to her later."

"Thank You." He kissed my forehead.

"I can handle a little more," I hinted with laugh.

"Oh, can you now?" he teased.

"Mm-hmm, I murmured leaning in." He pressed his lips against mine and I began to run my fingers through his hair... again. He brushed his thumb against my jawline. We slowly sunk back into the pillow.

"You okay?" he mumbled against my lips.

"Never better," I replied. He deepened the kiss. And just as I was about to go further myself a cough came from the door.

We shot up thinking it was a nurse.

"Should I come back later?" Meg asked with a grin.

Isaac cleared his throat. "No, no. You're fine. I- I should go."

I chuckled. "Isaac, Isaac you're fine."

"My two closest friends. In a hospital bed too," Meg shook her head.

"You make it sound like we were doing something bad," I defended with a laugh.

"Sure looked like you were headed that way!"

"Meg!" I scolded.

"I'm just going to let you girls talk about this and giggle about me," Isaac said from the door.

"Just leave you conceited little kisser!" I laughed.

He chuckled and softly shut the door.

"You sure look better!" Meg chirped.

"Well, my boyfriend is a healer," I pointed out.

"I see you got all the contact that you need to heal," she accused.

I smiled.

"So, Meg," I began, "there's something I need to tell you."

"OMG!" she shouted. "You're pregnant, aren't you?!"

"NO!" I shouted. "No," I said taking a breath. "One, I'm recovering from nerve damage, currently. Two, what you just saw is the closest we've ever gotten, so I think we have a ways before that. And, you know, an engagement, at least. I'm not that kind of bad girl."

"Oh," she said frowning, 'What wrong?'

"Its about Tristan," I grimaced.

"What about him?" she asked defensively.

"Um.. well," I mumbled.

"Alex," she pressed.

"Isaac had a vision," I blurted out.

"What kind of vision?" she asked wearily.

"The kind with a blonde chick in a tight leather outfit," I said my voice getting higher the more I said.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?" she asked raising her voice as she stood.

Oh crap. She's swearing.

'Meg-"

"What?" she snapped.

"You know I'm not trying to-"

"To accuse him of cheating? Because I think you are," she hissed.

"I'm not accusing him of cheating. I'm prosecuting him of cheating!' I retorted.

"And how do you know he was?" she demanded.

"Because Isaac saw him kissing the blonde!" I shouted.

"Well, maybe he's just trying to get under your hospital gown because that's not who Tristan is!" she yelled with fire in her eyes.

"Well maybe that's all Tristan ever wanted. Maybe he just wanted to get in sweet, innocent Megs little panties and ruin her. But, don't you dare talk about Isaac like that because he is your friend and would never treat me like that!" I spat standing up.

"And that is so you to try to take away my happiness because you cant have yours while you're in this hospital," she said tearing up.

"Meg," I breathed, stepping towards her.

"No, Alex, I don't need your help. I don't need you," she told me turning away.

"Meg," I walked after her, reaching for her. She spun around.

"Leave me alone, Alex. You don't care." She continued walking.

"I do care, Me-"

"I said leave me alone!" She whipped around and threw her arm out, releasing her purple force. It knocked me back and I quickly fell, my nerves spiking with new pain, but what hurt the most was the pain in my heart. I looked up to see she was already gone.

I tried to stand. My hands shook as I placed my body weight on them. A scream erupted from my lungs. I collapsed back to the ground. I drew in a shaky breath. Then another. And another. But I didn't seem to actually be getting any air. Panic flooded my body. My breath quickened. I looked around me, nurses were rushing in the room. It was becoming smaller and smaller. Don't they understand there needs to be air in a room in order to live? They surrounded me and although I heard their voices, I couldn't hear what they were saying. Too close. Too close. I can't breathe.

"I can't breathe," I croaked out. "I cant breathe!"

"Alex!' a male voice called out. "Alex!"

My name faded away. Every sound became distant, but every sight was falling on top of me, strangling me.

"I can't breathe," I panted, "I'm dying."

The room spun around.

"It hurts! I cried. Help! Someone make it stop," I began to sob. The shaking made the pain in my body rumble like an earthquake. I let out another horrific scream.

A nurse Id never seen before tried to give me something but my arms wouldn't move. I couldn't even lift my head. She reached out and put some foreign pills in my mouth, careful not to touch me too much. I swallowed. It burned. It was like eating fire.

The spinning stopped, the noise faded, the pain numbed, and the world darkened.

A/n Sorry I took so incredibly long to write this chapter. I was struggling to plan it out and then I finally sat down and just forced myself to write. Sorry the music was a link. It wouldn't let me put a second video in. I'm trying to just pump out these last twelve (ish) chapters. Some may be bad but Ill come back to polish them up later. Would also like to say that there will be no epilogue to this book. I may have some fun little bonus chapters or chapters about minor characters. Anyway, keeping reading, writing, loving.
