1 ~ (Alex)

"Alex! Guess what?! Guess what?!" Meg, my best friend, shouted running up to me as I waited for her outside the front doors of school.

"What Meg, if this is about another denim sale at Pink, I'll scream," I responded visibly annoyed.

"No,it's...it's...it's.."

"Yes?"

"There's a boy. He's really cute and his name, oh it's just thrilling..."

"Let me guess, Tristan."

"Yes! Guess what his power is!"

" Well, first of is he advanced?"

"Yes! So he can fly, turn invisible and has...Super Strength!"

"Speaking of invisibility, how do you know he's not here, listening to you?" I said as Meg's eyes widened in fear.

"Yeah," a tall muscular boy, whom I'm assuming is Tristan, said with his arms wrapped around Meg from behind,"How do you know I'm not here? Listening to your every word?"

"Aa...I...merp," Meg stuttered before giving up and looking downward. She looked so embarrassed . I felt bad for her, so I decided it was time for me to step in.

"Well, Meg standing there isn't gonna do ya any good, ask him out!" She didn't say anything, instead she shot me a glare.

" No, that's the gentleman's job," he said as he let go and turned Meg to face him, "Meg, would you like to go on a date with me?" I lifted a playful eyebrow at her. She just stood there looking surprised. I turned to Tristan.

"Clearly my friend here has lost her ability to speak so I will," Meg glared again then made pleading eyes."She would love to." Meg smirked at me. Tristan turned to her, to make sure that I said the right thing.

"What she said," Meg squeaked, grinning up at Tristan.

"Pick you up at six," Tristan called as he walked away.

"I'm guessing you want me to go to your house, so I can make you pretty and prepare you for your first date with an advanced...since him?" I said as Meg jumped around.

"Mm Hm. Then you can be there when I get back later." Meg replied.

"If you come home before the clock strikes twelve, Cinderella!" I teased; she just shoved me. Luckily she didn't see my reference to him.

"Hey I just got you a date and by the way he looked at you a first date kiss!"

"Would you quit that Alex! Anyway, we can double date."

"Well, Isaac won't feel so bad. You know, he doesn't want you to feel left out and like you don't get any me."

"I know. But don't worry he doesn't make me feel that way. And if he did you'd know by now," she replied.

"Good," I said, and with that we walked to my car.

As I opened the driver's door on my Shelby Mustang I realized I was supposed to go home today.

"Meg?" I asked as I started the car.

"Hmm?" she mumbled in response trying to take a selfie for snapchat.

"Can you text my mom and tell her I'm going to sleepover at your house tonight?" I responded holding out my phone to her as pulled out of the parking space.

"Yeah sure," she said grabbing my phone from me.

"Thanks," I said as she typed away. "What are you going to wear tonight?"

"I don't know I was thinking you could help me choose something," Meg said as she took a selfie.

"Hey!" I said snatching my phone back, "You know the rules about spamming my camera role!"

"I know that you are really strict and rude," she replied," that was for Instagram."

"Ooh!" I said amused, "someone has sass today!"

"Oh come on!" she replied defensively, "You know I only give you sass because you're the reason I have it!"

"Okay, fine. I'll except that excuse."

"Excuse!" she scoffed pretending to be offended, "Me? Never!"

"Oh really?" I said sarcastically as I pulled into Meg's driveway.

"Really," she said sincerely.

"Alright," I said dramatically, "Let's make the slightly above average teen look totally hot for her date!"

"Slightly?! Really?! Was that necessary?!" Meg asked jokingly.

"Okay," I said defeated, "I can't do this anymore let's just make you really pretty."

"Kk!" Meg replied cheerily, unlocking the door.

"Let's find an outfit first," I said tossing my bag in the entry way and racing up the stairs to Meg's room.

"I have this one fancy dress," she suggested following me.

"Do you know where he's taking you?"

"No, I don't actually."

"Okay," I said thinking what type of outfit would be the most versatile.

"Here's the dress," Meg said pulling out a gorgeous pastel flower dress.

"Ohmergurd!" I yelled as I ran up to Meg carefully stealing the dress from her, "This is perfect!"

"Really?" Meg asked proudly.

"It's amazing!" I replied holding it up to her, "It's dressy enough for a fancy restaurant but casually-cute enough for the movies or whatever!"

"Fantastic!" Meg said really excited.

"But," I said very seriously and dramatic, "we need shoes and accessories."

"You are very good at these types of things and know where everything is so umma just sit in my chair," she said plopping down into her chair.

"No! No! No!" I scolded pulling her up, "I'm going to work on the outfit well you go take a shower because you smell like gym class. "

"I'm choosing to ignore the insult because I have a date tonight," she said grabbing her bathrobe and walking to her bathroom.

"Let's do this," I whispered to myself as I knelt down to look at Meg's shoe collection.

"Perfect!" I shouted a couple minutes later holding up the perfect pair of heels. They were pastel blue pumps.

I heard Meg singing to herself in the shower about pineapples and just laughed; I hope Tristan appreciates her child-like spirit as much as I do.

Fifteen minutes later I had a gorgeous outfit put together and Meg was freshly shaved and smelled like flowers. We were date ready! We'll almost we still had to do hair and makeup but we could solve that.

Meg sat on the bathroom counter as I did her makeup; I was going for a simple display because I wanted Tristan to know how great Meg was on her own. When I was done, I didn't let Meg see her makeup.

"But I want to see it!" Meg complained.

"I want a big reveal so put on the outfit and we'll find some jewelry and things, then you can see," I coaxed.

"Fine," she agreed reluctantly.

An hour later we were completely done and I must say she looked pretty good. She had the dress and shoes on paired with a pastel pink cross-body, a glamorous fake diamond statement necklace with matching earrings, matte blue nails, and a shmancy hairdo.

"Alex! I look amazing! Thanks!" Meg practically yelled when finally let her look in a mirror. She did some catwalk poses before she ran over to me and hugged me.

"Well, I try," I replied with a flip of my purple hair.

Then the familiar sound of the doorbell came. I hurried down the stairs and answered the door. Tristan stood there in a white polo with a gray sweater and khakis.

"Hi Tristan, welcome. No I do not live here. Have Meg home by ten. Thanks! Bye!" I said hurriedly before turning and yelling up the stairs, "Meg! Tristan's here!"

"Okay! I'm coming!" she yelled back.

I turned to Tristan with a threatening voice, "Meg is the best girl you'll ever meet. Screw this up and I'll screw up your face. Break her heart and I'll break you. Am I clear?"

He looked at me for a moment before responding, "If we weren't taking about Meg I would laugh at how tough you think you are."

"I may not be as strong as you, Steroids, but I wasn't born already tough. I had to earn it," I retorted with a snarl.

"Implying something there, princess?" asked with a grin as we locked eyes glaring.

"Just that strength isn't always from muscles," I said before leaning back, content. I turned to go get Meg, just before she came strutting down the stairs; luckily she remembered to grab a sweater.

"Hi, Tristan!" she said as she reached the entryway, "Sorry it took me so long."

"No, your fine. You look stunning by the way," he replied.

Meg shrugged her shoulders and giggled before saying, "It was mostly the work of Alex."

I did a mock bow before responding, "Well, I had a beautiful base to start with."

"Yes, you did," Tristan aid wrapping an arm around Meg, she looked at me grinning.

"Well, you two love birds go have fun and I'll watch Netflix," I said pushing them out the door. They left and I raced up to the forbidden attic of secrets.
