Let the Sky Fall (A Monster Hunter AU story)- Prolouge: Let the Sky Fall
No one's POV
The sound of a pair of metallic footsteps and a person panting echos through a dark hallway. A figure was limping through the halfway whilst holding something in their hand. They suddenly crash into the wall on their left as support as they continued to force themselves to walk.
"I'm....a-almost...there..." A person mutters under their breath. The voice was raspy, weak, and exhausted. Their voice was deep, almost like a demon, making it hard to identify their gender. They grunt in pain as they felt their head spinning as something whispers in their head. "Just-just a little farther, my King..."

The person eventually made it out of the hallway and into a ruined room. The roof had a giant hole, allowing light into the room via the red sun and the moon in the sky. The two giant orbs in the sky slowly draw closer to each other with each second that passes. The room the person entered in was very old and dusty. The walls were made out of stone bricks, filled with cracks and moss and covered in dried blood smeared all over the walls. Wooden tables and chairs were thrown and scattered all over the place, as if a battle taken place before being completely deserted. Several rusted and worn out hunter armor sets and weapons were littered across the ground, along with ancient skeletons. Torn up banners were dangling on the walls as some pieces of fabric were scattered across the ground. The long, rectangular red carpet in the center of the room covered in blood lead to an old throne.
The person weakly walks in front of the throne as they breath unevenly. With the light from the sun and moon from the outside, the person was seen wearing a full set of monster armor.
On their neck was a strange necklace: A purple orb that could possibly resemble a dragon eye was strapped to their neck with a metal chain. Their legs suddenly gave in as they kneeled in front of the thrown with a sheathed sword in hand.
"F-finally..." The person whispers happily. "He...hehe...he-." The person stops chuckling as their felt their chest burning up, causing them to cough up blood on the already bloody red carpet. "...."
The person slowly lifts their arms above their head and proceeds to unsheathe their sword. As the blade come out, the red sun and moon's light reflects off of the blade.
"After many centuries... you shall to-tower above all of the wretched creatures...t-that have tainted this world..."
When the person was finished unsheathing the blade, they brought the tip of the sword to their eye level and stare into their reflection. They saw their burning red eyes and their wicked smile staring deeply into the blade as the sun and moon reflects off the blade as well.
"Nothing can-can stop you this time... You will be more powerful than any... monsters or "Hunters" that will try to slay you again..." They say venomously.
The person slowly flips the sword and points the tip at the center of their chest. Their breathing became heavier as they felt a sweat drip from their face. Deep down they didn't want to go through with this, but something else, a burning rage of another, orders them to.
"L-let this be...the beginning of the end for...a-all living creatures in existence... be it the second most powerful Black Dragon or a puny insect...."
With one last deep breath, the person stabs the blade into their chest, coughing up blood as their body was shaking. Their blood drips onto the blade, which began to illuminate a crimson red glow as more blood covers it.
"I-it hurts, my King..." The person tries to breath, yet couldn't. They could only take short breaths. They grit their teeth as they force to push the blade deeper into their chest. "It...h-hurts...B-but I don't care... if it m-means you can walk again...s-so be it. I will die a thous-thousand deaths if needed..."
The sword glows brighter as more blood drips onto the blade. Soon, the air around the person became thin as wind blows. Clouds cover the sky as red lightning crackles in the air. The sun and moon overlaps each other and forms and eclipse. The wind began to blow violently as a red magic circle was summoned under the person. It glows a crimson red as the person coughs again.
"I served y-you for all my life...I, a weak human, s-served the King of Monsters... Hehe..." The person chuckles as they felt their vision becomes blurry and their eyelids felt heavy. The ground began to shake as they felt their life ending. "How....ironic...A h-human sacrifices t-their life to bring back a life their ancestors sacrificed themselves to destroy..."
A loud thunderous boom was heard from above that could make any person deaf. But the person barely heard it. The ground shook much worse as the building around the person began to break apart and crumble around them. Their body became weak as they sway before dropping to the side. The circle brightens as the person weakly smiles. They mutter one last thing before closing their eyes, accepting their fate.
"S-show...them...no...m-mercy..."
A large beam of red and white light erupts from the circle. Red lightning strikes the ground around the room as thunder roars in the air. The room the person was in explodes and dust flew everywhere as the light burst into the sky, almost reaching infinitely. The building which was once an ancient castle on top of a mountain, is now nothing more than a giant pile of rubble and debris. A massive silhouette could be seen slowly forming within the beam of light. Two large wings spread out from the beam as it slowly fades away. The dust soon settles as a large monster, classified as a Black Dragon, was all that was remaining from the castle.
The monster was a dragon, with a long, serpentine neck and tail, along with a pair of large wings. Its body is covered in luminous white scales, and a line of fur runs down its back and tail. Its horns are antler-like in nature, and the structure of its head is significantly less reptilian than that of its counterparts. Like an Elder Dragon known as Kirin, the coat of this monster produces a bright white aura. The throat and chest glow a menacing red and becomes surrounded with red lightning sparks. Red lightning strikes the ground all around the beast.
The dragon looks around the realm it was in as its tail sways behind it. Its wings flap a bit as it adjusts to being alive again. The cold air felt refreshing to it for once. The wind calms down from its presence. The monster licks its bottom jaw with its long tongue before roaring into the air as its wings spread out.
Meanwhile...
It was a rather peaceful night in some sea. The fishes and birds were minding their own business as the night passes by. But that quickly changes...

Near the shore, bubbles began to form on the surface of the water. Something massive glows underwater before exploding out and lands on the shore. A very large, semi-aquatic Elder Dragon lands on the ground. Its body structure is reminiscent of a monster known as Fatalis, with relatively short limbs and a long tail and neck. Its body is filled with a magma-like substance which pools at the base of the tail, the chest, and at each shoulder. Each of these pools directs magma flow to certain parts of the body. On its back are a pair of wing-like appendages. Seemingly useless in terms of flight, these "wings" feature cannon-like chutes which can extrude globules of magma, both as a means of defense and as a way to jettison excess magma. The monster's head features a frill-like structure and an upturned snout.
This creature was known as Dire Miralis. It was slain many years ago by a group of hunters, but now its back by some "miracle".
Dire Miralis looks around its new surroundings carefully. A surge of rage took over the monster's instincts as it began to shoot out magma from its "wings". The monster roars furiously into the air as the magma rains down everywhere.
In some other terrain, a large monster walks out of a cave. It possesses a body structure similar to most Elder Dragons. Its body is mostly covered in crimson red and white plates. It has a protruding chest with light blue vents between the plates, the chest also has five light blue spikes poking up from it. The head also has a few light blue spikes pointing down from the chin, a few small horns surrounding a much larger one that points straight up, with a few spikes connected by a membrane running down the back the neck, and the eyes are sunk below the white plates. The wings are relatively featureless, although the membranes have a notable faint orange and yellow pattern which resembles an eye. Also much like other Ice using Elder Dragons such as Toa Tesukatora and Velkhana, this one can be seen with numerous sharp ice structures and ice coverings around the body, for these can be seen as dozens of icicles on the head, back, part of the tail, and a bit on the wings, with the tail having a full on ice club with a few spikes on the top, and ending in a curved pincer like formation. This creature was known as Disufiroa, another Elder Dragon slain by Hunters.
It looks around its surroundings and noticed nothing much has changed. The creature remembers the time when it was stuck down by the creatures that used other monsters to defeat it. Feeling it's rage building up, Disufiroa flew into the air, breathes out numerous fire balls of varying sizes everywhere, before breathing out a large ice sphere into the center of the area. It creates an enormous cluster of ice, before flying into it it smashing it to pieces as it lands. As everything calms down around Disufiroa, it roars into the air with all its hate against the hunters.
Lava flows down the side of a volcano. Somewhere nearby, a pair of wings could be heard flapping. A slim but long dragon lands on the ground as its wings stop flapping. This monster is a pale white Elder Dragon who's physical appearance is very similar to that of Fatalis. From its head to its tail rests a line of dark grey spines trailing off from being shortest on the tail to larger barbs along the back of its neck. Its head shows to be more serpentine in appearance, sporting a prominent spike on its chin. This dragon's wings are abnormal in their appearance, being almost devoid of any sort of membrane in between yet this beast some how retains the ability to fly. Its wing membrane appears when it enters one of its elemental states. On its chest is an assortment of rib-cage like barbs that normally stay closed around its purple chest cavity. These barbs will spring open during either of its states with the "core" in it changing to various colors depending on the state its in. This creature was known as Merphistophelin.
The dragon walks to the edge of the cliff it was currently at. It looks over the edge and saw the rivers of lava traveling down the volcano. The Merphistophelin was about to sit down, but it heard a different monster flying nearby. It turns its head around and saw something land on the ground behind it, causing dust to explode from the ground and cover the new monster. The Merphistophelin heard a deep, menacing growl from within the dust as a silhouette walks out of the dust.
The first thing the Merphistophelin saw was a black dragon paw landing on the ground. Two massive spiky horns on the creature's head, above a pair of terrifying red eyes. The creature spreads its wings and clears the dust. The monster's chest and back was covered in spikes. The edges of its wings were also covered in spikes. This Dragon was known as Alatreon.
The Alatreon slowly approaches the Merphistophelin, who growls in annoyance. The Alatreon stood on its two back legs and roars. Red lightning was summoned around it as it lands back on all four.
The Merphistophelin flew in the air as it roars. Its body glows as flames engulfed its mouth. The Alatreon flew after it with every intention to slay its enemy.
This was the beginning of the end...
