Her Guardian (M! Reader x RWBY)
Remnant... it's an odd world. It's a world filled with many mysteries and adventures. Monsters known as Grimm roam the land as people are forced to endure against them. Because of these beasts, heroes rise. Many try to become heroes for many different reasons. However, some don't want fame or money. Some things can't be bought or won over with fame...
No one's POV
It was a cold and cloudy day in a forest within Vale. This forest was known as the Emerald Forest, filled with thick, tall, luscious trees. The only things that inhabit the forest were Grimm, making it a perfect place for those who are willing to train to become Huntsmen and Huntresses.
A man was sitting and resting on a tree branch against a tree. In his mouth was a fresh cigarette. He held a lighter in his palms that he lights up, using it to light the cigarette. Once it was lit, he puts away his lighter and inhales the smoke, before slowly pulling the cigar out of his mouth and exhaling, smoke leaving his mouth.
"Gods damnit...What did I do to get here...?" He mutters softly to himself, as if afraid of letting anyone hear him. He had a deep and raspy voice for someone his age.
The man looked to be in his very early twenties. He had messy blood-red hair that was lazily brushed back with a few strands of black dangling between his eyes. His black eyes looked exhausted and almost lifeless, though had some emotion left in them. Under his eyes were very visible bags, suggesting he doesn't get sleep often. There was barely noticeable stubble under his chin, which he scratches. On his ears, he had a pair of silver earrings that looked to be small diamonds.
The man was tall and well built. His attire was practically all black. He wore a long, thick black, and red winter coat with the tail splitting between his legs. As for the collar, around his neck was thick fur with his hood over it. On his shoulders, he wore spiked metal shoulder armor pads that seemed to be sowed into his coat. Not only those but there was a pair of metal gauntlets that were sowed into the wrists of his coat as well. His coat was open, revealing his armor that was over a shirt.
(Don't really know how to describe it, so here's an example)
As for his pants, he wore a pair of thick winter pants. Just like his coat, a pair of metal knee pads were sowed into the pants. He had a pair of black military boots and a watch on his left wrist over his glove. A belt strapped with multiple pouches was over his pants. On the sides of his thighs were two holsters that seemed to carry metal sticks instead of guns. Finally, he wore a pair of thick winter gloves that seemed to have some kind of electronics in them.
Just as he was about to put his cigar back in his mouth, he barely turns his head to his right and scowls. "That was sarcasm, asshole." He says a little louder, though was still quiet.
"..." No one replied to him as no one was nearby except for himself.
"...Yeah, yeah, whatever. Don't need you to remind me constantly." He says after a moment. He looks down to his other side and stares at the trees ahead while placing his cigar back in his mouth.
He does so for some time, being silent while he did. There were no sounds around him as if everything had died long ago. Well, that is except for the very faint sounds of gunshots and monsters howling/roaring in the distance. However, he didn't seem to care about the noises. He was deep in his thoughts for a while before he squints his eyes a little. After, he pulls out something small from his pocket and looks down at it silently.
In the photo, four people were standing around a tree. There were two males and two females. All seemed to be around the male's age.
On the far right, one of the males has graying black, spiky hair, with bangs hanging in the front. He had fading red eyes. He wore a red, tattered cloak, along with a gray dress shirt with a long tail, black dress pants, and black dress shoes. He also wears a ring on his right index finger, two other rings on his right ring finger, and a necklace with a crooked cross-shaped pendant. In his hand was a massive sword that he rests on his shoulder.
The woman standing next to him had long black hair and dark crimson red eyes. Her hair is tied by a red bandanna and loosely done up in a ponytail with the ends resembling curved black feathers. A cowlick can be seen protruding from the top of her head. Her outfit consisted of a shallow cut black and red dress with black shorts underneath, with a series of beaded necklaces and a belt that wrapped around her waist and carried her weapon's sheath. Attached also is a long black object that is either fur or feathers, with a red and white bandana material hanging from behind her. Her forearms bear red armored gauntlets that protrude outwards and black fingerless gloves. She wore solid black leggings, red splatter patterns, and black heels with red soles. In her hands was a scabbard that has a rotary chamber filled with different types of Dust and a red katana sheathed into it.
After her, there was a man with blond, almost gold, hair and blue eyes. He wears brown cargo pants with a dark brown belt, black shoes, an orange bandana around his left arm, and a brown leather vest over a tan dress shirt with the right sleeve cut off. For armor, he wears a metal spaulder, leather vambrace, and a brown fingerless glove all on his right arm. He possesses a rather muscular build for his age. His arms were folded over his chest as he lays his back on the tree.
And finally, there was the second girl. She was much shorter than the other three. What stuck out from her between the rest was the fact that she had silver eyes. She wore a white hooded cloak which is red underneath. Her face was partially obscured by her cloak as well as much of her outfit aside from part of a black pleated skirt. She was resting her hand on the tree next to the blonde.
The male stares at the girl in the hood the longest. A small frown forms on his lips. And the longer he stared, the more it grew. However, he was able to eventually pull his gaze away from her before landing on the male beside her. When that happened, his frown changed to a light scowl, growling lowly in irritation.
"STRQ..." He mutters in irritation as he looks up from the photo to his surroundings and scoffs. "What a stupid name..."
After he was done, he looks up to his side again and lets out another growl, a much longer one. "I don't want to hear any more from you! If you say one more fucking word, I'll disable you!" That was what he wanted to say. But before he could finish, he stops, as if someone interrupted him. He stayed quiet briefly before looking away to the side again. He listens carefully but couldn't hear anything.
"You're right... The fighting stopped..." He muttered. He gets up to his feet and stares deeply into the distance while shoving the photo in his pocket. On the back of his coat, there was a red symbol. It had a lion on its hind legs while an odd symbol was wrapped around its tail.
After a second he jumps down to the ground, creating a small thud upon impact. He straightens up and took one lone inhale from his cigar before blowing smoke out. When he was done, he drops it and smooshed it under his boot, putting it out. "Just be quiet. I need to focus now."
Without much hesitation. He got into a running position as his eyes squint. Just as he was about to move, he briefly squeezes his hands. After metal rises from under his coat and a metallic mask materializes on the lower half of his face. It was black and red with small holes around the mouth area.
(Again, don't really know how to describe it, so here's an example.)
A sudden glow was released by his boots as he dug the heels into the dirt. When that happened, he starts to run at an incredible speed, leaving a small trail of electricity behind him.
Time skip
After running for a few minutes, he was quickly approaching a cliff. The glow in his boots fades and his speed quickly dwindles to normal. He slows down and crouches by a nearby tree that was beside the cliff, staying in the shadows. His mask unfolds from his face and slithers down under his coat. He looks down to the clearing below and saw four people standing in the middle.
As it turns out, the four people he saw were the same as the photo he had. They were all in a circle talking to each other, though from his distance, he couldn't tell what they were saying. And around them, dozens of Grimm corpses were beginning to dissolve. The blonde male was laughing about something as the other male chuckled. The woman in red seemed to be annoyed by something, which causes her to punch the blonde in the shoulder. When the blonde flinches from the hit, he pouts, which causes the girl in the white hood to giggle. They all seemed oblivious to the other's presence.
"Summer..." The male mutters under his breath, staring at the girl in the white hood. He moves his foot forward as if to walk over but suddenly hesitates. His eyes flinches and he felt his heart ache when he saw the blonde hug the girl in white, who happily hugs back.
"..." The male frowns while instinctively slowly raising his hand to his chest where his heart should be, and clenches his coat. "N-no...I can't do that to her... She's happy with him..." He mutters sharply. He closes his eyes as his face grew a look of anger, sadness, and pain. But soon, he calms down and slowly lets go of himself, reopens his eyes, and continues to watch the group from the shadows.
Down below, the group seemed to finish up their conversation. The blonde turns to walk away while motioning for the rest to follow, which they do. And as they did, the girl in white ran up to the blonde and held his hand with hers, irritating the hidden male more. They talked between themselves while the other two didn't say anything, just following the pair ahead. They all enter the forest away from where the hidden male was. He continues to watch until he could no longer see them due to all the trees. When that happened, he frowns before letting out a long, defeated sigh.
"I'm really pathetic..." He whispers as pain fills his voice. He slowly steps back from the cliff and rests his side against the tree next to him. After, he turns around so his back was resting against the wood and slid down it so he was sitting. He stares at the ground between his legs with a blank look, though his eyes showed that he was still hurt by what he saw.
"To think I had a chance with my childhood friend after leaving her for so many years... How naive and stupid of me..."
Defeated, he raises his knees and rests his forehead on them. Just as he felt like breaking down, he heard a familiar noise below. Slowly, he gets up and saw Grimm starting to group up where the team once was. His expression was blank, thinking nothing much of the situation at first. It wasn't until he saw an unusual number of them gathering and one of the more dangerous ones within the forest as well.
The Grimm that he saw was massive and bulky. It had small hind legs, but massive muscular front arms that could easily crush any unlucky person with ease. It had white spikes going from the back of the head to the end of its tail, with massive spikes as well. Its head resembles a reptile, with massive teeth in the front.
He could see the smaller Grimm sniffing the ground and air around them, picking up a scent. Their heads all begin to turn towards the direction that the group left, even some beginning to run after them. They growl and snarl as more began to do the same, with the large Grimm staying behind.
The man's eyes widen a bit from seeing the large number of Grimm. "Shit! They've found her!" He whispers. Without much thinking, his mask forms again around his face as he puts up his hood. After, he runs and leaps off the cliff while grabbing items from under his coat. On his left, he pulls out a small metallic sphere, and on his right, he pulls out a small black handle. He threw the orb near the largest group of Grimm as he presses a button on the handle. Doing so caused it to extend to a black, red, and white metallic staff.
As the man continues to fly in the air, the sphere near the Grimm suddenly shook, causing all the creatures to look down at it. Immediately, they all heard a loud frequency that caused them to stop what they were doing and try to cover their ears while whining. The other Grimm that went into the forest picked up the noise and stop running as well before looking around to where they came from. Then, they all began to run back.
Just as the man was going to land, he lifts his staff over his head. He then presses a different button on the handle which causes blades to burst out from both ends of the weapon. He lets out a battle cry before landing on top of a Beowulf while stabbing the tip of the blade into the back of its head and pierces through to the other side of the neck, killing it instantly.
The rest of the Grimm did nothing as they were still trying to brush off the pain from the noise. The male took this as an opportunity to press yet another different button on his staff while tearing it out from the monster. As he did, it starts to transform and convert into a sniper rifle. He spun around just as it finished transforming and aims the rifle at a small group of Grimm that was close together. Instantly, he pulls the trigger, firing off a white bullet in the middle of the group. Upon impact with the ground, the bullet bursts into an explosion of ice, several spikes erupting from the blast. Most of the spikes impaled the Grimm in several places, lifting them up by a foot as the crystalizing stops. They each let out whines of pain from the impact but were quickly silenced as the spikes killed them instantly.
The man reloads his rifle as the sphere breaks, stopping the pain from the remaining Grimm. They all stumble as they try to recover from the pain. However, the man doesn't allow this to happen. He flips his rifle around so he was holding the barrel to the gun. There, he presses the fourth button on it and it transforms again. This time, the weapon unfolds to the staff, but quickly starts to split apart and extend as an energy whip forms between the metallic pieces. He uses this to swing the whip at an Ursa by the neck and grab hold of it, stunning it with electricity. When it wraps itself around the monster multiple times, he pulls the whip back with both hands, tugging the heavy creature along. He spun around multiple times, swinging the Grimm with him. He uses this to crash into dozens of Grimm around him and knock them down to the ground.
After a few spins, he leaps into the air, reels the whip back to him, and spun it so the whip slams into the ground in front of him. Doing so causes the Ursa to slam into the ground hard, creating a small crater as it was buried into the ground. After, an explosion of lighting was let out, electrocuting and frying any other Grimm within the blast radius.
Seeing this, the man reels his whip back again, except this time he lets go of the Ursa. His whip reels back before transforming back into the staff. He casually yet expertly twirls his staff around him before resting it on his shoulder while glaring at the rest of the Grimm who was beginning to recover.
"I know she sent you all." He says sternly, glaring at the monsters under his hood. He wasn't speaking to any specific monster, but all of them "Make sure she gets this message clearly..." He continues as the Grimm recovers from the noise. They all begin to glare and snarl at him while gathering around him. "Leave. My. Summer. Alone." He snarls back, emphasizing "My". His mask made his voice deeper and tuned it so his normal voice wasn't recognizable.
As he finishes, the Grimm growl at him. A few Beowulves stop in front of him and stand on their hind legs, before howling into the air. During this, a few began to charge him from behind. Knowing this, the man spun around while grabbing his staff with both hands. He glares at the incoming monsters while a faint icy blue hue forms around his eyes. Not only this, but frost begins to form around his hands and feet. He lets out another battle cry as he smacks a Grimm with an uppercut, sending it stumbling back. He spun kick the Grimm back several feet while pressing and holding a button on his staff. He holds it for a few seconds before both ends of it suddenly were engulfed in flames.
Just as the other surrounding Grimm pounce him, he spun his staff over his head and around himself, hitting most of them in the face. This sent all nearby creatures flying back as their faces were engulfed by the flames. As for the remaining ones, he trades jabs between both ends of his staff at their chests multiple times quickly before swinging them away. After, seeing as more were rushing him, he stabs his weapon into the ground while yelling. This causes the ground to glow briefly before an explosion bursts out from the ground around him, sending ablaze debris up into the air. The debris shot into the air and stabs the Grimm in the chest multiple times which kills them instantly.
Just as he was about to pull his weapon out, an Ursa swung at him from behind, sending him flying several feet. He managed to keep his hold onto his weapon and recovers quickly from the hit, shaking off the pain with a low growl. Seeing as the Ursa was now charging at him, he glares at it momentarily as his eye colors change. They went from black to a cold, icy blue. Not only did his eyes change, but his hair changed from red to white, his black strands remaining. The black from his coat changes to white too while the red changes to a dark blue. He gets up and lifts his staff into the air before ice forms around his staff entirely while frost coats his body.
"Freeze!" He commands as frost explodes from his body.
The Ursa was right on top of him when he uses his Semblance. It stood on its hind legs and was going to swing at him, but the explosion made it stumble back before being suddenly frozen in dark blue ice entirely.
The man lowers his staff and hovers above the ground. because of the frost coating his body, his breath was visible from the airholes within his mask. He glares at the rest of the creatures as he saw them rushing over. He reels his arm holding his weapon back before thrusting it forward, causing three balls of ice to shoot out from it. In doing so, when it collides with a Beowulf, the balls explode, sending a small explosion of ice. The explosion causes the nearby Grimm along with the first to be covered in frost, slowing them down as they try to shake off the ice. He floats over to them before lifting his weapon in the air which causes it to glow. The frost-covered Grimm glowed as well before suddenly exploding in ice, their remains flying everywhere. When he was done with them, he floats over to other small groups of Grimm and did the same with them.
After doing it a few times, the ice surrounding the staff fades and the man lands on the ground in the middle of the Grimm. He presses another button in it which causes it to fold back into the handle. He puts it away before jumping high in the air as he pulls out the two smaller handles from his holsters before pressing the buttons on them. They extend a little before a blade unfolds from each of them and to the side, revealing them to be Kamas. And because he was still covered in frost, his smaller weapons did as well.
He tosses one of them on the ground between the monsters which creates a blast of ice to cover them in frost. After, he spun around and threw the other Kama at the first. The second hit the first and the Grimm that were covered in frost froze in place. Almost immediately after, a tornado of frost was summoned and spun towards the rest of the Grimm, chasing them. Any that were nearby were also frosted as the ones in it froze before exploding.
This clears out most of the remaining Grimm except for a few small groups and the large one, who stayed back the whole time as if studying the battle.
Just as the man was about to fall, his gloves started to spark electricity. He reels his right arm back and clenches it tightly while aiming at another small group. Then, he hurls himself forward and at an incredible speed, he flew at the small group before they could move. Upon impact with the ground, his glove lets out an electric shockwave, disintegrating the nearby enemies.
He looks up to see the large Grimm glaring at him, which he returns without hesitation. "Try me." He sneers.
It roars into the air loudly, scaring any nearby birds. Before the man could react, more Grimm start to run out from the forest surrounding them. He glances around as he stands up, smirking a little under his mask.
"Fine by me." He says as he cracks his knuckles, taunting the Grimm.
The Grimm glares harder in response while hissing. It roars again which signals the rest to attack, which they do. The man continues to crack his knuckles until the rest were practically on top of him. Time almost seems to slow down as he saw them lunge at him. When he was done, he lifts his right arm again and slams it on the ground. As he did, his fist was covered in a gauntlet of ice.
Once his hand made contact with the ground, time resumes to normal as pillars of ice burst out from the ground all around him. Many of the Grimm was engulfed within the ice, but those who weren't smacked against the frozen pillars. Even though the ice should have shattered upon impact, they didn't. Instead, the monsters' masks and skulls cracked, which doesn't even dent the ice. They howl and roar in pain before the man jumps and slams his fist into the ground again, freezing even more Grimm. To finish them off, he lunges forward while reeling his arm back. It wasn't until he was within arm's reach he thrust his fist forward at the pillars. His strength causes the one and any nearby to suddenly explode along with the unfortunate Grimm in them. He kept lunging at the remaining pillars until the last one shattered.
During his fight, the large Grimm continued to simply watch. It glares harder and harder the longer it saw the man fight and kill off the rest. Seeing as he was nearly done, it lets out a low growl.
Just as the man finishes the last one, he looks around to see if any more were left. However, before he could the large Grimm suddenly showed up behind him, towering over him. He was going to turn around to face it, but it suddenly smack him. It smacks him so hard that it sent him flying back several yards. And before he could recover, it reappears above him with its claws clenched together and over its head.
"!?" The man's eyes widen from seeing this before being slammed into the ground to due its claws and strength.
He bounces from the impact as the wind was knocked out from him, causing him to cough. While he was still bouncing, it grabbed him with its large claw and was slams him into the ground, shattering it. It then gave off a barrage of punches that he couldn't escape. It going to slam him into the ground, but he managed to grab its hand and freeze the palm. The Grimm felt a sudden rush of cold that it roars in pain and lets the man go, who leaps back and stumbles a bit but manages to stay on his feet.
"N-no, I'm fine..." The man mutters he stares at the monster roaring in pain. "I don't need it now. Just wait for my signal, got it?"
The ice soon melts in the Grimm's palm. It recovers from the pain and looks for the man, which it did quickly. The two stare at each other for a moment, studying the others' wounds.
The man looked a little beaten up. Because of the filter in his mask, his breathing was still visible, showing that he was panting pretty heavily. Sweat covers his face as he was barely slouching. As for the Grimm, its palm looked pretty wounded. Parts of its skin were torn off due to the cold, revealing some of its bones under the skin.
The two were in a stalemate for a moment. Eventually, the man catches his breath and straightens up, which the Grimm notices.
"Don't yell at me for doing this..." He mutters weakly.
Slowly, he starts to take off his coat, before tossing it to the side. After, he does the same with the armor under said coat. The Grimm looks a bit confused by this as it slightly tilts its head but still kept its guard up. This reveals the man's well-built and muscular figure under his black shirt.
"I said don't. I know what I'm doing." He mutters some more.
After he was done, he pulls out the handle to his staff and unfolds it. He then got into a fighting stance as his boots glows as he stares down at the creature several feet ahead of him. The Grimm took this as a challenge. It hunches its hind legs and spread its arms a little, also getting into a fighting stance.
A few seconds later, the man lets out a battle cry. The Grimm roars in response and the two charge at the other. Thanks to his boots, he was much quicker than before, meeting the Grimm quickly. The Grimm reels its non-wounded arm back to punch him, but he saw this coming. He stops, stabs his staff into the ground ahead of him, and uses it to launch himself over the creature's head. He does this just before the Grimm could hit him, catching it off guard. He flips around and activates his blades on his staff as it looks up at him. He spins in circles as he uses both ends of the staff to stab the monster's back. He does this all the way down, causing the creature to roar into the air. Just as it was about to turn around and smack him, he already morphs his staff into the whip and wraps it around its neck until he was choking it.
The Grimm tries to pull it off of it, but the electricity from the whip prevents it from doing so. And to ensure it, the man dug his feet into the ground and pulls the whip back with all of his strength.
"C-come on...!" He grunts as he clenches his jaw tightly under his mask.
However, as much as he tried, it was no use. The Grimm manages to grab the other part that wasn't wrapped around its neck and pulls on it, pulling the man over to it. His eyes widen a little, but he transforms his whip into the rifle and shot the Grimm multiple times as he was getting closer. The bullets barely fazed it and it goes in for another punch. The man stops firing while his eyes and hair change color again before tossing his weapon away. This time, they change to a velvet color while the frost around him fades as he puts his arm over his face.
When he does, a shield made out of some kind of dark purple energy forms on his wrist. The Grimm punches it and the impact causes a small shockwave. The man grunts a little as he barely missed being hit head-on. But quickly, he thrusts his shield forward and pushes the fist to the side, giving him an opening. He quickly thrusts his shield into the monster's face with enough force to send it stumbling back.
[There should be a GIF or video here. Update the app now to see it.]
Just as he lands on the ground, the shield and purple from him fade. He grabs his watch and twists the shell of it, causing a grey glow to emanate from it. The Grimm quickly recovers and leaps at him several feet in the air with its arms over its head. As it did, some kind of grey protection starts to form out of his watch and around his body much like his mask did. Just before it could finish, the Grimm slams its fists on top of the man, cracking the ground beneath him and sending dust flying. It hisses for a moment thinking that it got the man. However, it soon quickly felt a force pushing its arms back, making its eyes widen.
"D-don't think you've won yet, b-bastard..." The man mutters under the weight of the heavy fists.
Under the Grimm's fists, the man was in grey and white armor. It looked very bulky with spikes coming from multiple parts. It had black fur around the helmet which lets out a blue glow.
The man had his arms up over his head keeping the fists from crushing him. He grunts loudly before letting out enough strength to push the Grimm back so he could breathe. The Grimm tried to run over but stops as it saw the man leap at its face.
"This ends now!" He shouts.
While shouting, his hair changes yet again. This time, his eyes and hair change to a fiery orange as flames engulf him. He reels his arm back as flames were summoned on his hand. He punches the beast right in the nose, cracking the bone armor on it. It roars yet again but was cut off when he gave it another punch, this time an uppercut to the jaw. It slams into the ground via its back as he lands on his feet. The Grimm quickly gets back up and upon seeing the man running over, it dug its claws into the ground and tosses a massive boulder up as a wall.
That doesn't stop the man as he punches it as he was about to crash into it, smashing it to pieces. The Grimm tries to do this again and throw boulders at him. Some were about to hit him, but he stops them by summoning a flaming hammer in his hand. He then threw it at the nearest boulder, exploding it in flames. Another one was summoned in his hand, which he threw at another boulder. He does this until he and the creature were inches apart and his hammer disappears.
Seeing this, the Grimm grabs a tree and tries to swing it at him, who just leaps over it. He leaps high enough that he was over its head. Using this to his advantage, he lifts both arms over his head and summons a massive war hammer in his palms.
He roars as he slams the hammer down onto the Grimm's head. This causes the Grimm to slam its head into the ground as the flames burn its head. He lands in front of it, spun around, and smashes the hammer on the sides of its face multiple times. As he did, the mask broke and shatters before disintegrating from the flames.
Soon, the hammer dissolves as the man stumbles back. The Grimm weakly gets up and tries to smush him between its palms, but he manages to stop both of them with his bare hands. The two glare at the other as they try to outpower the other. The man stomps his foot on the ground that causing a line of flames to travel through the ground and under the Grimm's face. Doing so causes a tornado of flames to burst out from beneath the ground, burning its face. It lets go and tries to cover its face with its palms, except he ran over and grabs them, pulling them away from its face. The two struggle for a moment, and eventually, he snaps its fingers. This made it roar loudly. He grabs its tongue while its mouth was open and yanks it out, sending black ooze flying everywhere.
The Grimm smacks him so hard that he skids across the ground. And in pain, it catches up to him and bites him. It lets out a yell as he tries to break free, but the Grimm slams its face in the ground along with him over and over. Eventually, it threw him away by a foot and stomps on him, cracking the ground even more. He grunts as he struggles to get it off of him. It smashes him even further into the ground, with enough force to cause him to cough up blood.
It then took this moment to drag him through the dirt. He grunts as he left the side of his helmet hits his head. The Grimm eventually stops and goes to swallow him. But he manages to grab its jaw and hold on from being swallowed. It tried to smash its teeth down, but he kicks its jaw back hard enough to dislocate it. It lets him go and screeches in pain while trying to grab its dangling jaw. The man sees this and leaps up to grab the upper half of its mouth and punches it with his free hand. A bright light was let out before the Grimm's head exploded. He jumps back and saw the headless body drop to the ground dead with a loud thud.
The man pants heavily as he stumbles from the thud. The armor on him disappears soon after, leaving him back in his previous attire. He looked pretty beaten up. He wasn't able to catch himself and fell on his back on the ground, looking up into the air. His mask disappears as his eyes and hair return to their original colors. He starts to wheeze and cough violently while weakly turning himself around so he could get on all four. He could feel his head spinning and his body feeling sore.
"S-shit..." He mumbles before coughing up blood more.
As he took this moment to catch his breath, something small materializes over his shoulder.
The object was a small orb surrounded by a red and black shell. Red wires wrap around the shell in a 'Y' as it looks at the male.
"And this is why I told you to not overdo yourself." The orb says with a deep feminine voice, its tone stern. "You try to play the hero, and yet you get yourself into positions like this. You don't have an aura, so you can't be so rec-."
"Will you...s-shut up for f-five...fucking minutes...?" The man tries to say between coughs and spitting up blood while looking up at it with an annoyed look.
"No. I won't. And you know why? It's because of your obsession with Summer and-."
The man scowls at the orb and straightens up. "I'm...not obsessed w-with her." He snaps, venom in his voice.
"Uh-huh. Sure. What would you call it then, smart guy?"
He moves his mouth to speak but instead coughs. He does so for a moment, before eventually calming down. "F-fulfilling my promise..."
"Yeah right. Stop lying to yourself. You're being a creepy stalker right now and every other time you've followed her in the shadows. It's not healthy for either of you-especially since she doesn't know you're doing this, y/n-."
The man, y/n, cut her off as he weakly gets up. "But if I tell h-her, then that'll put her at risk... She's already in more danger than anyone at Beacon d-due to her silver eyes. I'm just making sure to take care of bigger problems."
"And how long will you keep this up? Until you both die and wither from old age?"
"..." Y/n doesn't say anything. He lowers his head silently, his eyes hidden from his hair.
The orb stares at him as he stayed silent. Eventually, it opens its shell and lets out a bright light that engulfs y/n. In the blink of an eye, his wounds healed and vanished as if he was never hurt in the first place. When it was done, its shell returns to normal.
"I get that you want her to be safe. But you're doing it all wrong. She's proven that she's more than capable of protecting herself multiple times. Plus, she's with Tai. If she wants to be with someone else besides you, then let her. It's her decision. You cannot baby her forever. And it'll only get more awkward and difficult if she decides to get married and have a family. And what if she catches you? She'll get scared and-."
"Shut the hell up, Sarah," Y/n says coldly. He lifts his head and glares at her. "Y-you weren't there when we were kids. I know everything that you've said. We've had this fight multiple times. But that won't change my mind... She's being hunted down a-as we speak by multiple groups. She wouldn't be able to defend herself against any of them even if she mastered her abilities..."
Without allowing the orb, Sarah, to speak again, y/n turned around and went to retrieve his stuff. He clenched his fists hard as he walks and wipes the blood off his face, which Sarah notices. She watches him go before letting out a long sigh.
"You're an idiot..." She mutters before dissolving.
...
After some time, y/n was walking through the halls to the student dorms at Beacon Academy. He walks up to one of the rooms and grabs his keys from his pocket and unlocks the door. Just as he was about to enter he heard a pair of footsteps to the side quickly approaching. "Y/n!" A cheerful yet quiet voice shouts.
Before he could look, a white blur crashes into him, though he manages to stay on his feet. He grunts from the impact as he felt like the wind was knocked out from him. "S-stop doing that, Summer..." He mutters weakly while groaning.
The person giggles before pulling away so she was standing in front of him. "S-sorry, y/n. Force of habit..." She says shyly while blushing from embarrassment.
Y/n manages to recover and smiles a little at the shorter person. "I know firsthand- considering you did that all the time when we were kids." He says before smiling softly.
Summer giggles again from his response, which causes him to as well. "Where have you been all day? I was looking everywhere for you after we got back from the mission."
"'We'?" He asks, raising an eyebrow. He tried to pretend that he hadn't followed her all day.
"My team and I. I thought we promised to spend the rest of the day when I got back."
A nervous drop of sweat forms on y/n's face. But even though he was nervous, he quickly thought of something. "O-oh...well...My bike broke again when I went to get lunch today. So, I had to go get it repaired. Unfortunately, the place was packed, so I spent most of the day waiting to get it fixed." He lies.
"Really? I thought you got it fixed recently?" She asks while tilting her head a little.
"I did. But the people must've skipped over something last time."
"Oh... That sucks to hear." She says softly.
Y/n smiles a little before gently patting her head, startling the woman a little. "It's fine, Summer. It's fixed now. How about we go ride together for a while?"
"I'd love to, but my team and I promised that we'd go drinking in a few."
"Since when did you start drinking?" Y/n asks whilst folding his arms and giving her a concerned look.
"Oh, I don't plan on it. But the rest want to. I'll just get something else."
"I see..." Y/n mutters, letting out an internal sigh of relief.
"So, would you like to join us?"
Y/n moves his mouth to say something but stops when the image of her and the blonde male held hands together fills his mind. He frowns a little and shook his head to get the thought out. "I-I'd love to, but I can't. I have a test tomorrow and need to study a little more."
Summer frowns from his reply. "Oh...I-I see..." She slowly looks down as a frown forms on her lips. Y/n sees this and felt his heart sink. Instinctively, he lifts her chin up with his hand carefully.
"Hey, don't be sad. I'll go next time, alright? And if you'd like, we can spend a day together like old times." He says softly.
"Really?" Summer asks, a smile quickly growing as she looked really happy.
Y/n nods while smiling back. "Of course. I'll do anything for you." He says, causing Summer to giggle.
"Alright! I can't wait!"
Y/n chuckles softly from seeing her reaction. "Alright. Go on and-."
He was cut off when Summer suddenly hugged him tightly. His mind was spinning as he blushes. "S-Summer-?"
Before he could do anything, Summer pulls away with a bright smile on her face. "I'm glad to have a friend like you. Having you back has been wonderful."
Y/n tried to respond, but all that came out were stutters. Seeing this and his red face, Summer giggles again before running off down the hall. But as she did, she looks back at him while waving. "See you later!" She shouts before turning into a different hall, leaving y/n all alone.
As she left, y/n snapped out of his trance and shouts her name, but she didn't hear him in time. He looks down after a moment and lets out a shaky sigh. "D-damnit...! You're a lucky bastard, Tai..." He whispers, still red.
Knowing he couldn't catch up, he turns to his door with a jealous face. He grips the doorknob and opens it before entering his room, slamming the door behind him. His doorknob that he grabbed bent into the same shape that his clenched palm was, indicating how flustered he was.
Meanwhile...
Without either knowing, they were being watched. Outside, there was a tree in front of a window that saw everything. On the said tree, a raven was watching carefully. When it saw both had left, it stares for a little longer, as if thinking. After, it caws before flapping its wings and flying off and around the building. However, before it could go anywhere else, everything faded to black.
To be continued...?
Hey, everyone. I hope you liked the concept teaser. I apologize if it's a bit longer than expected. Honestly, even I was surprised by how long it became. And because of that, I tried to shorten some stuff, which I deeply apologize for if some parts seem rushed. I promise that I did my best but didn't want to make it too long.
Let me know what you all think. I don't know if I'll keep all the powers shown. If you are not familiar with this, this is from Destiny. I originally wanted only the ice parts included, but I sort of thought that it didn't fit well with the character design. So, I tried to push out a little more. Tell me, what do you guys think? Was too much or not?
I don't know if I'll continue this story. While I do have plans and did talk about some of it in the story update book, I don't know if there'll be time. I'll do my best, but I cannot promise anything.
That being said, I hope you all enjoyed it. And I also hope you all have a wonderful day/night. See ya.
