Destiny: Last Hope

"Do you know which side you're on?"- Uldren Sov.

Guardians are supposed to be the last hope for humanity. They're the ones' out in the front line fighting for the people of the Last City. Some will do anything to protect their home. But others...not so much...

No one's POV

A lone Titan was in the Tangle Shore. They were exiting the Spider's domain and into the Thieve's Landing whilst holding an auto rifle known as Sweet Business in hand. On their back was a sword known as Crown Splitter.

"Do you think we've repaid our debt to the Spider yet?" A male robot voice questions in the Guardian's head.

Before the Guardian could answer, an object forms next to their shoulder. A small orb with a white shell, a red lion painted on it, floats beside him.

"We've done quiet a lot for him over the last few months, but-."

"No." Was all the Titan said. His voice was deep, raspy, human.

"What makes you think so?" His companion asks as its shell twists.

"..." The Titan doesn't reply. He simply continues to stare in silence.

Moments ago...

The Titan was standing in front of a Fallen "ally" known as the Spider. The latter was sitting on its throne while playing with a Ghost shell in its fingers, making the Guardian a little unease inside. And it doesn't help that there are literal piles of Ghost shells hung from the ceiling. Though he forced himself to show no signs of weakness. Two guards stood by the Spider's side just in case.

"So...you've taken care of those bounties I've given you, yes?" The Spider questions as he leans back on his throne.

"Of course." The Guardian nods.

Suddenly, a Fallen and Cabal corpse was summoned in between the four. They slam into the ground, startling the Fallen guards. Though the Spider wasn't fazed. He leans forward and inspects the bodies from his throne, a hand on his chin.

"..." The Guardian eyes the two guards, waiting for them to pull the first moves. Though they too wait for the Guardian to attack first.

"...Good...good..." The Spider mumbles behind its mask, catching the Guardian's attention.

A small smile grew on the Guardian's lips under his helmet. Though that was quickly changed as the Spider notices something was off.

"Where's the third?" The Spider spoke sternly, leaning back in his chair.

"?!" The Guardian's eyes widen in shock. Though that was quickly changed as his brows burrow and his face starts to sweat. "I wasn't able to collect the body." He tries to say calmly.

The Spider was curious by the Titan's answer. "Oh? And why's that?" His lower hands claps together as his upper right continues to play with the Ghost shell.

"..." The Titan starts to sweat more. The air around them turns thin. His hands tremble a little as he tries to relax. "Unfortunately... The corpse fell into the abyss. I couldn't retrieve the body."

"..." The Spider leans forward to study the Guardian carefully. He saw the Guardian wasn't panicking. Due to the Guardian's hemet, he couldn't see the Titan's face to know if he was lying or not.

"..." As the Spider was studying him, the Guardian was cursing internally. His hands slowly clench into fists as he eyes the two guards besides the Spider. He was prepared to fight his way out, but the Spider suddenly lets out a scoff.

"Very well." The Spider leans back into his throne to get comfortable. "I'll trust you this time, seeing how you're my number one client and you always keep your word."

The Titan's fists relax. He quietly lets out a sigh of relief and grew a smile.

"But don't get used to this." The Spider barks, pointing a finger at the Titan. "This is a one-time deal! The next time I expect ALL the targets I send you to find brought back. Understood?"

The Titan simply nods.

"Good." The Spider motions with his free hand to the guards. The one on the left relaxes as the other left the room. The Titan watches the Fallen guard leave before turning back to the Spider.

"And because you've been suck a wonderful helper," The Spider starts a new conversation. The Titan noticed the sarcasm in "wonderful". "I'm feeling a bit generous today."

The Fallen Guard came back with a chest in hand. The Titan turns to it and the guard drops the chest by his feet before returning to its post. The other went to the two corpses to drag them elsewhere.

"Here's you're rewards along with an extra shard or two. You're welcome." The Spider says, expecting a reply.

The Titan nods yet again. "Thank you for your generosity." The Titan says as the chest disappears.

"Of course...Until we meet again..." The Spider says ominously.

With that, the Titan turns around and heads for the exit.

"Surely Guardians always keep his word..." The Titan barley heard the Spider mutter.

Because of the feathers on the Titan's back, the Spider doesn't notice the Guardian glancing at him from over his shoulder. The Titan glares at him under his helmet while sneering and growling.

"Guardian!" The Titan barley heard his companion yell over the flashback.

The Titan snaps back to reality. He blinks several times before shaking his head. After, his Ghost floats to his face.

"You doing alright?" His Ghost asks.

"Yeah..." The Titan replies emotionless.

"I'm not sure if we should continue to do this." His Ghost says, referring to the Spider. "I'm sure the Defender would've-."

The Titan stops walking. "Don't." He turns to his Ghost and glares at it under his helmet. "Don't you dare bring HIM up, L." He says coldly.

"..." His Ghost, L, stares at its companion in silence. The Titan couldn't tell what it was thinking. Though he might of got an answer when he saw it look down, probably in shame.

The Titan eventually lets out a quiet sigh before continuing to walk. His Ghost disappears after it saw him walk away.

As he approaches the edge of the place, the Titan heard a boom in the air. He saw his ship flying towards him as he stops at the edge of the rock.

He was about to be transported into it, until his Ghost appears next to him.

"I'm receiving a transmission. From Ana Bray."

The Titan shook his head before looking up at his ship. "What does she want?" He mutters.

The sound of static fills the Guardian's ears. He heard a staticky voice a moment later before it became clear.

"Hello? Guardian?" A female voice asks from the other end.

"What do you want?" The Titan questions.

"Come over to my place. I need to show you something."

"Can it wait? I'm not in the mood-."

"It's important. It's about Rasputin."

"..."

L stares at the Titan, who was still looking at the ship. He was quiet for some time. Just as Ana was about to speak up, the Guardian sighs.

"Fine. Be there in a few."

"Thanks. See you soon."

"Whatever..." The Titan mumbles.

The transmission ends. The Titan looks down at his feet in silence as L floats to his face. "What do you think it's about?"

"Beats me. But I-."

A strange noise was heard from behind, then a roar. After, several more strange noises came from behind. The two spun around and saw-.

"Taken?!" L exclaims. "Here?! But-!"

"L! Focus!" The Titan yells as the two saw a small army of Taken spawn in front of them. The Titan puts Sweet Business on his back with his sword before walking forward. He barley lifts his right hand as he sees several Taken take aim at him. "L! Give-!"

"On it!" L yells over all the noise ahead of them.

L disappears and in his place a double barrel shotgun was summoned in the Titan's hand.

It was made out of wood with silver metal beautifully decorated on the handle. There was a small compartment in between the bottom of the two barrels on the end of the shotgun. A small flame was burning brightly within the compartment.

"Damnit." The Titan mutters. "I can't catch a break today, can't I?"

The Titan opens the shotgun and two shells were shot out. He pulls out two fresh shells and shoved them into the weapon. After, he flips the gun close and holds the weapon with one hand. He starts to sprint towards the Taken as his lest fist was engulfed in flames. He starts to charge forward into battle as the Taken start to blast him.

What do y'all think so far? I'm not sure if I should make the mc a reader or not. I might just give him a title and not use his name. What do you think?
