Chapter II: Unstable Alliance
No one's POV
It's been several hours since y/n met Odin. Right now, y/n was lying on his couch in his apartment. It wasn't that impressive. And to be perfectly honest, it was shit. Y/n lived in a two star apartment complex. The place he owns is small, only consisting a small living room, a single bed room, a bathroom, and a small kitchen. That was all he had and could afford due to constantly loosing his jobs.
He had his arms wrapped behind his head as he stares at the ceiling, deep in his thoughts. His left leg was wrapped over his right leg. The sound of a clock ticking was the only noise in the room that could be heard.
'Why do I have a feeling that I made a mistake?' He thought to himself before having a flashback to a few hours ago.
"I was going to say that your friend seems to be in some trouble involving money." Odin says. "If you help me out, I'll help with whatever issues his sister is having."
"...." Y/n's aura calms down, but some of it was still there. He contemplates with all his might on the situation in front of him.
"..." Rossweisse stares at y/n as she was in her thoughts too.
"What do you say, current god of War?" Odin asks. "Do you accept?"
"..." Y/n stares deeply and intensely at Odin as he was thinking about the offer.
He doesn't trust him one bit, but he knows Thomas's sister is in serious trouble involving her health. He considers Thomas as a brother, so of course he'll think of her as a sister. If there is any way he could help her, he would do anything for her, even destroying all the realms and even himself. So-.
Y/n closes his eyes and shook his head, as if arguing with himself. The rest of the aura around him disappears as he puts the axe on his back. A short moment passes before he reopens his eyes and looks up at Odin.
"...Fine..." He says hesitantly. "...I'll be your damn bodyguard."
A small unnoticeable smile form on Odin's lips. "Excellent." He says as he rubs his beard. "Seems like you're not as bad as your ancestors. That's-."
"Don't think that this means that we're friends, old man." Y/n snarls while folding his arms. "Kratos's blood runs through me, including some of his anger. That means I am pissed off at you gods as well."
"..." Odin doesn't say anything. He simply studies y/n's eyes, which held an unspeakable amount of anger in them.
Y/n doesn't noticed that Rossweisse slowly moves her hand behind her back. But before she could do anything, Odin snatches her arm with his hand. Rossweisse was about to say something, but she noticed her boss hasn't taken his eyes off the young god of War.
"If you or anyone from Asgard dare try to attack my friend or his sister, I WILL find each any every one of you fucks and will NOT hesitate to slaughter you lot. Understood?" Y/n threatens.
"Of course." Odin says as he lets Rossweisse go. "You have my word. No one will attack them."
"Sir Odin, you sure you want to do this?" Rossweisse spoke up. "He's-."
"We don't have a choice." Odin interrupts. "This meeting must happen. If others find out the descent of Kratos is at the meeting, they'll stay as far away as they can if they value their lives."
"..."
"U-umm...excuse m-me..." A nervous voice outside of the flashback spoke up.
The flashback ends. Y/n snaps out of his thoughts as he heard the door to his bedroom creak open. Y/n sat up and looks behind the couch and saw Rossweisse poke her head out the door with a light blush on her face.
"What's up?" Y/n asks, too lazy to get up from the couch.
"A-are you sure i-its fine that I-I use your room toni-tonight?"
"..." Y/n saw how nervous Rossweisse was all over her face and the tone of her voice. He was about to yell at her, but he remembers why she's here. He has another flashback to the conversation he was in with her and Odin.
"So we have an agreement then?" Y/n asks the two Asgardians who were having a private chat.
They both look towards y/n with different opinions on the situation. "That's correct." Odin nods.
"..." Y/n turns his focus on Rossweisse, who doesn't look too pleased with this. But he shrugs it off before turning around. "Alright. See you then." He shoves his hands in his pockets as he was about to walk away, until he heard Odin say something.
"Hold on, kid. I'm not done yet." Odin says, causing y/n to drop his head in anger and disappointment. Y/n turns back to the god as he gave him a "are you fucking serious?" look. "I said that I'll explain everything after we agree, but something has came up that requires my attention. So, I'm having Rossweisse stay with you to explain the details."
"W-what?!" The two men heard the young Valkyrie shout in confusion. "B-but-!"
"No buts." Odin turns around and walks away, still hearing Rossweisse trying to argue with him. "Don't worry, I'll pick you up in the morning!"
Rossweisse was about to continue arguing, but she saw her boss turn a corner. She looks both nervous and angered by her boss's choice as y/n was confused about everything that has just happened. The flashback ends. Y/n sighs as he scratches the back of his neck.
"First of all, it's fine, alright? I know how it's like to be left on the street, so I'm helping ya out. Second of all, you don't need to be afraid of me, got it? Loosen up a little. I'm not gonna hurt you. If I really wanted to do so, we wouldn't be in this situation right now."
"..."
Y/n lets out another sigh. Seeing how his words weren't helping the situation, he went back to resting on the couch. He closes his eyes as he waits for the Valkyrie to say or do anything. A few seconds pass before he heard the door close. He opens one eye as he waits a little longer. When he heard the shower turn on, he opens the other eye.
"Yeesh, she's annoying. No wonder why Odin left her behind..."
Y/n sat up and got off of his couch. He kneels and bends over to the bottom of the couch. He dug his arm around under it to find something. After a moment or two, he felt something. He grabs it and pulls it out. After he did, he sat back on the couch and set the object on the small table in front of him. It was a small warn out box. It was brown and wrapped in string. Y/n rips the string off and opens the box. He grabs something out of it and places the box back on the table.
The object within the box was an arm gauntlet. It was old and made out of leather that held something onto it.
"..." Y/n studies the gantlet for a brief moment before he decides to put it on his left arm. When he thought it was wrapped tight enough, he flexes his arm a bit. He flexes for a while to make the gauntlet activate. At first nothing happened. But at some point he got it to work. A unique shield made out of some kind of metal with a golden frame unfolds out of the gauntlet.
"Hmmm...." He hums, thinking. "This might be the first time I might actually use this thing..." He mutters to himself.
Thinking he should probably think about it later, the shield folds back into the gauntlet before y/n puts it away. After, he rests back on the couch to get some sleep for the night.
===To be continued==>
