Three
All eyes were on us once we walked into the room. I quickly glance up.
The room was full of vampires except for Elliot and his guard. They were all dressed in nice clothes and talked amongst each other until we entered. Every eye watched Adrain and me as he lead us to Elliot.
Elliot wasn't what I expected.
I pictured he be an ugly man but I was wrong.
He was a handsome man in his forties with silver hair. He was dressed in a very expensive all white suit.
Elliot stood out. Most of his guest wore all black.
Some people have to be the center of attention.
Elliot talked to his guard before his eyes landed on us.
" What are doing in here? The auction doesn't start until a few minutes," Elliot says gruffly.
Adrain ignores his rude tone and smiles. " I brought you a true beauty. I thought you would want to see her before everyone else did."
Elliot glances coldly at him. " What beauty? I don't see any bea-"
He stops when I step from behind Adrain. The whole room went quiet again. Although I kept my head down, I could feel everyone staring.
I heard heavy footsteps coming my way.
I saw white shoes in front me and knew it was Elliot.
He started walking around me, examining me. After what felt like hours, he finally spoke.
" What's her name?" he asked Adrain.
" Violet," Adrian answered.
" Violet," Elliot repeated, tasting my name on his tongue.
The way he said my name made my skin crawl. I wanted to tell him not to ever say my name again but thought better of it.
I'm on a mission. It's important I don't fail.
After walking circles around me and stopping every now and again to study my frame, Elliot stops in front of me.
" How much do you want for her?" he asked in a business-like tone. Selling humans to bloodsuckers didn't even bother him. I balled my hand into a fist at my side to stop me from punching him.
" One million dollars," Adrain says.
My eyes go big. What?!
" Are you sure she's worth it? Have you touched her?"
" No, and she's more than worth it. The King will like her very well," Adrain says.
" What is her blood type? His majesty likes O positive blood," Elliot replies.
I tuned out. My mind was spinning. Elliot conducted himself like a businessman who only wants to make a profit. He asked questions right in front his guest. Not even caring. He talked about me as if I was only property and Adrain did the same.
I thought I could handle this, but I felt my resolve breaking. The more they talked. The more worthless I felt. Just when I thought I couldn't take anymore, Elliot guard grabs my arm hard.
"You're coming with me," he says roughly.
I looked up at Adrain wondering what's going to happen to me. Suddenly, I didn't feel so safe.
Adrain didn't look at me but I saw his jaw tense.
The guard starts dragging me. I was almost out the room when I caught Adrain eye. His stormy blue eyes swirled with emotion before he quickly looked away.
Then I was out the door, lead down a hallway, and thrown into a room by myself.
All the while I was thinking, I might be way in over my head.

Here's a sneak peek at the next chapter below ⬇⬇⬇
I woke up to the sound of the door being opened.
" Wake up, princess. You have a guest," the guard who threw me in here said.
He left and a strange man stood in his place.
I sit up on the bed and watch the man walk in. He closed the door behind him, leaving us in complete darkness since the room had no windows.
" Do you know who I am?" he asks walking closer to me. His voice was like honey but all wrong.
I peer into the darkness. Even with my heightened senses, I couldn't make him out.
" No," I answer.
He kept walking closer. " How about now?"
" No."
" What about now," he questions, reaching the edge of the bed.
My mouth goes dry. "You are the-"
" Vampire King Alexander Knight," he finished for me.
