chapter 8

It has only been a week since Ruby met Y/n. But yet there is no time to rest. But already things are getting out of hand. The silver blooded order has been making more moves against their mortal enemies the werewolves. This has caused a lor of collateral damage that has upset many of the other monster hunter orders.

Their leader Talos Aurorarath meets with Arwin in Ozpin's office since it is neutral ground.

Talos enters the office, a bandolier of bullets across his chest and two revolvers strapped to his sides.

Talos: You called me here, what do you want?

Arwin: Your actions can not be ignored, Talos. You have caused a massive amount of collateral damage.

Talos: Better that then werewolves running around. Unlike you I like to get my hands dirty.

Arwin: You think I do not fight?

Talos: I think you hide like a coward behind rules. I heard of the vampire incident here in Beacon. Right under your nose.

Arwin: That was not our fault.

Ozpin: Arwin is correct. And that vampire was dealt with.

Talos: I mean the other one.

Ozpin's eyes went wide.

Ozpin: How do you know about Y/n?!

Talos: I have acquired a seer that is more than willing to assist me. That's how I know about your friend. And that he is here right now in this room.

Y/n appears from a corner of the room cloaked in darkness.

Y/n: So thats why you were looking behind you the whole time.

Talos: I find it pretty hypocritical that you remain unharmed in the presence of the Sun Maw.

Arwin: This is completely different.

Talos: Is it?! What if the other orders found out you were working with one of the monsters you are supposed to keep in check?!

Y/n: You have a seer. Ask her why.

Talos: Why what?

Y/n: Why the other vampires fear me.

Talos scoffs.

Talos: And what could've you possibly done to warrant that kind of reaction?

Y/n: I'm the one that killed Aldrax.

Arwin's eyes went wide.

Arwin: Is...is it true?!

Ozpin nods his head.

Talos whistles.

Talos: That's a bold claim. But unlike Arwin over there. I'm not pissing my pants. You should know as well as I do: that it only takes one good move to end a legend.

Y/n: True. But are you capable of making such a move? That has yet to be seen.

Talos: *chuckles* Oh I like you. Do I have to ask my seer why you are here, or will you tell me yourself?

Y/n doesn't respond.

Ozpin: Y/n. He is going to know either way.

Y/n: Fine. My daughter attends Beacon.

Talos: Your own kid? Well that explains a lot.

Arwin: Talos. If you so much as think of-!

Talos: Shut your trap.

Arwin scowled but stayed silent.

Talos: The kid a vampire?

Y/n: No. It seems that it lays dormant. And I plan to keep it that way.

Talos: Alright then. You'll get no complaints from me about that.

Talos takes a few steps forward.

Talos: I won't lie though. If you are as powerful as I think you are. Maybe I would like to poke the bear a little.

Arwin was quick in stepping between Talos and Y/n while drawing his sword.

Arwin: You will do no such thing Talos. If you touch the girl I will cut you down!

Talos drew one of his pistols.

Talos: Is that a fact?

Ozpin: ENOUGH!

The two stand still for a moment before they put their weapons away.

Ozpin: This meeting is to address Talos's actions. Not know about Y/n's reasoning for being here and certainly not to antagonize him.

Y/n: I think I can deduce why Talos does what he does.

Talos: Oh? Then go ahead, amuse me.

Y/n: The obvious is that your family was probably killed by werewolves. But your brutality comes from you never quite getting the fill of blood you desired. Then when you became leader you decided to wage total war on them.

Talos: Pretty gooood.

Arwin: It does not excuse his actions. He must still obey the rules of engagement.

Talos: Oh please. You know as well as I do that those are bullshit! The minute combat happens everything goes out the window. I don't care what you or the other orders think. I'm doing things my way, whether you like if or not. I'm done here.

Talos walks away and goes down the elevator.

Ozpin: That went as expected.

Arwin: The others won't be happy. But in the end Talos will never step down. And I doubt any of the other orders want to waste time and resources to try and depose him.

Y/n: Hmm. That seer he has. I wonder where he found them.

Ozpin: It is hard to say. But if he has one, it will be hard to determine what his next move could be.

Y/n: If it becomes a problem. I'll deal with it.

Ozpin: Better question. Do you believe he won't go after your daughter?

Y/n: No.

Ozpin: I see. I'll keep my ear to the ground then.

Arwin: The Sun Maw will not allow an innocent civilian to be harmed by our order or any other. If you need my help, I will lend it to you.

Ozpin: Don't count on it Arwin. I only know out of necessity, not because he trusts me. And his distrust is not unfounded.

Y/n walks away to the elevator.

Ozpin: Going somewhere?

Y/n: Yeah.

Y/n waits for the elevator then gets inside. The door closes and it starts to go down. Y/n needs some information, and he knows where to get it.
