Elena Gilbert was probably the best known girl in Mystic Falls. Why wouldn't she? She was pretty, friendly, caring and well, she did have an impeccable taste in men, too. You couldn't help but admit that she had been lucky with boys - Matt Donovan was probably the most precious human being ever, especially with Mystic Falls having a shortage of humans to begin with. Then there was Stefan, and Damon. They were both hot, and even though vampires, still dreamy and many times, you had been wondering what it would be like to date them.

Still, despite your constant adoring over the men in Mystic Falls, you did feel attracted to women sometimes too, and not only were Elena's boyfriends gorgeous, but so was Elena herself. What you didn't know, was that Elena thought you were pretty too, and that she was actually quite deeply in love with you, and that her relationships with the Salvatores were just a cover to hide the truth. The truth - she was in love with you.

But no one else of your group of your friends was bisexual or gay, except you - or so you thought - so obviously you didn't want to be the first one to fess up. It built pressure on you, so you just hid the truth. You did feel attracted to guys at times too, at least to the hot guys of Mystic Falls or the hottest celebrities of today, so it wasn't so much trouble to talk about those men with your friends. Sometimes, you just found yourself looking at Elena adoringly while everyone else gushed over Damon's new leather jacket or Klaus' new hairstyle. And sometimes, Elena looked at you too. So fondly. So in love.

Elena was struggling daily, really. She wanted to kiss you and be more than just friends with you, and she wanted to slow dance with you and just hold you, feel you, and be there for you. But she didn't know how to deal with her feelings, so instead of doing so, she just tried to push them back and dated either Stefan or Damon. She kept playing with them, but just because she wasn't happy with either. She wanted you. The feelings returned to her every time, stronger than before, and on one day it would eventually blow on her and she would have to confess her love to you, but so far she had been doing a nice job with hiding how she felt.

But as she looked at you, laughing and smiling, and being the cutest dork ever, her heart was full of happiness and love and she wanted you to know it.

So, when you announced to your friends that you were going to have a date, she had just about enough. You did like Elena, a lot, but you were pretty damn sure it wouldn't go anywhere so when you met a lovely guy, and he asked you out, you said yes. Why not, right?

Because the Gilbert girl is in love with you.

Caroline and Bonnie were unbelievably happy for you, since you hadn't been on a date in a year or more, and they couldn't wait to see what would come out of it. While Elena just put on a fake smile, hoping you wouldn't see through, and really, you didn't. Before you left to get ready for your big date, Elena gave you a hug, and while you thought it was a friendly one, she could only think about the word goodbye. Repeating itself in her mind.

Goodbye, Y/N, goodbye.

As if she was going to lose you. And maybe she would. Because maybe the guy you were going out with, would eventually ask you to marry him and you'd get pregnant and leave Mystic Falls behind with your happy family, and forget all about Elena. But maybe, she was afraid of losing you because of what she was going to do.

You had put on your prettiest dress, hugging your body perfectly, and you had styled your hair and put on just a little bit of make-up, and in all honesty, you were looking like a princess. You felt like one too, and you understood that you had missed this feeling. Feeling so confident and hot.

And that was exactly what you were.

You finished your coffee when you heard the doorbell ring, and excitement ran into you, causing your hands to become sweaty and shaky. You wiped your palms against your dress, before walking to the front door, and opening it with a smile on your alluring lips.

It wasn't your date, though. It was Elena Gilbert.

And she took in a sharp breath, and felt her heart jumping to her throat when she saw you in all your beauty, even more perfect than she had imagined in her mind. You kept on smiling, although it wasn't who you had been expecting, but it was always a pleasant surprise to see Elena. But she did have a somewhat shy, sad look on her face and because of that, you lifted an eyebrow, and offered to help her inside.

"This... This'll be just a quick thing", Elena replied then, "I think you should just hear this before you go on that date. Because if you do fall in love with him and start a relationship with him then I'll hate myself if I haven't said this. I need to get an answer of some kind."

You just stared at her, and swallowed thickly, scared of where this would go. Uncomfortably shuffling on your spot, you waited for Elena to carry on, and gave her a warm look since she looked like she needed it in the cold air outside. She was hugging herself, and you were afraid that the tears that began slowly forming in her eyes would freeze, but she had refused to come inside so you didn't bother her about it any more.

"I love you, Y/N. As a friend, yes, but it goes way deeper. I'm in love with you. That's what I'm trying to say. I hope I'm not scaring you off, but I do really like you, and I just want you to know that", Elena managed to admit, and before seeing your reaction, she turned around and started to walk away, but you stopped her.

It took you a while to comprehend that she actually told you that she was in love with you, but you knew that you had feelings for her too, so as soon as you had grabbed her hand, you yanked the girl back to you and placed your lips on hers. It was truly a magical kiss, like you had heard that first kisses would be. At least when it was with the one. And right there and then, you felt like she was the one. Your lips fit so perfectly on Elena's, and it felt like fireworks exploded around you.

It was better than either of you had ever imagined. It was as good as it could get. And you couldn't help but smile as you thought about how many more kisses you two could have in the future.

With your forehead against hers, you whispered, "I guess I have a date to cancel", causing her to snicker. "I like you too, you know", you added and kissed her again.

As you took Elena's hand and walked her indoors, your date happened to arrive, and he was rather shocked to say the least, seeing you kissing another person. A girl. But he let you be, and it was the right thing to do, because if he had intervened then maybe you and Elena wouldn't have been a couple like you were now.
