Imagine having cute soppy late night conversations with Kai

"You get me, don't you, Y/N?"

Kai's cute laughter rang in your ears as he looked at you and took a better position on the couch where you were having some wine and talking. It was almost midnight, and the two of you had so much fun, a few hours had passed by very quickly.

"Yeah, well, I mean, I'm not a killer, but yeah. You're not so bad. Everyone seems to hate you but you're funny, and cute and so on...", you said and smiled carefully while looking at the red liquid in your glass. Kai smiled too, and he placed his hand on yours, covering it with his large palm and intertwining his long fingers with your smaller ones.

For months now, you and Kai had been in a loving, intense, though undefined relationship. You didn't know what was okay and what was too serious, but you did enjoy moments like these. Just talking, relaxing and having fun. Enjoying each other's company.

"You're pretty much the first one to think that way, Y/N", he chuckled, "I'm happy that I have you. I, uh, I like you- I-I've never really felt that way about anyone, so I'm glad it's you and not someone who doesn't give a crap about me because it would be ten times harder to deal with it", Kai's lips were curved into a smile, a weak one but it was sincere. You had never seen him so vulnerable and emotional, but you were liking it. It proved that he did have a heart and feelings, although Damon was quite convinced he wasn't capable of caring.

"Well", you smiled, "I am here for you and I like you too, Kai." Your words managed to send him to a new level of delight and happiness, and he breathed out deeply, not sure how to live with the kind of warm fuzzy feelings you caused in his chest. He had never fallen in love, though he wasn't sure if this was it either, but he knew that something new and weird was happening to him.

"I don't understand all these things I'm feeling, honestly. I just- whenever I look at you, my heart feels like it'll explode and I can't stop smiling and everything you say makes me feel all warm and happy and I can't look elsewhere, your face is so... I just want to look at you for the rest of my life and hold your hand to make sure you're real and kiss you so everyone knows you're mine and woah- Woah I-I'm sorry Y/N", he explained, his eyes looking into yours and his hands trembling as he expressed his feelings. That was a lot from someone who had never felt love before, and you felt kind of proud, and happy. You did feel something for Kai too, and he just made admitting it a hell of a lot easier for you.

You gazed into Kai's eyes fondly, and caressed his hand with yours softly. "That's what being in love does to you", you whispered, "Your stomach is full of butterflies, you can't think straight, and you just want the person you've fallen for to be all yours", with a faint smile. Kai couldn't say anything, he was just looking at you, trying to comprehend everything.

"Okay, well then, I'm pretty sure I'm in love with you", Kai finally managed to say. And that was pretty much the last thing you said that night, you just cuddled and stayed on the couch through the night.

Late night conversations with Kai became a habit. Your friends quickly picked up the hints you were leaving and understood you had fallen in love with Parker, and although he wasn't the kind of guy they dreamed about, they were happy for you and thought your little thing with Kai was absolutely adorable.

"I love you", Kai would mumble to you as the two of you listened to Ed Sheeran, or Coldplay, or The Fray. He had made a playlist on Spotify, just for you, and you couldn't help but feel lucky, and listen to it pretty much every day.

"I love you too", you always replied, because that was the truth and you didn't want Kai to think any less.

With your fingers intertwined, and your body on his arms and his lips leaving soft kisses on your skin, he made you feel loved. Kai didn't know much about feelings before you, but now that he had found out what it felt like to be in love, and loved, and several other things, he had no problem with showing off and expressing his true emotions. His heart was full of love, and he was slowly adjusting to the feeling of bliss whenever you were around, and the need and the want to talk to you, touch you and take care of you.

"Thank you", he on one night said quietly, "for loving me back. I didn't think anyone was capable of that, I've done pretty horrible things... But you saw something in me, I guess, and I'm lucky to have you. Thank you for all that you've done for me, Y/N", he whispered. All thanks to you, he had understood how terrible his actions were, murdering people and all that. You did love the bad boy in Kai, though, but he was a little less wicked now.

"Don't. Don't get all insecure and sad, because you are so handsome and funny and entertaining, and just as worthy of love as everyone else", you said, your voice serious but your eyes sparkling with love and lips curved in a fond, loving smile.

You and Kai weren't always this sappy, though. You and him spent your days having water fights, trying new food, pulling pranks on Damon and what not. He was fun to be around, and you loved that he had more to him than just the badass, or the sarcastic asshole. In the evening, he liked to relax and pour out his heart to you. You truly loved him, he was amazing.

And you told him that, wanting him to feel as loved as he made you feel.

"You're incredible, Y/N. God, I love you so much", he whispered, and kissed your cheek gently.

You were pretty sure that I love you were his favorite words.
