Imagine going shopping with Katherine and talking about boys

There were rarely any days in Mystic Falls, where you could just sit down and take a deep breath, organize your thoughts and fall into peace for at least five minutes. The town was known for its busy supernatural world, and with your friends - and eventually, yourself - included in it, it was hard to stay away from the whirlwind that had taken you in its tight hold. And you weren't sure if there was getting out.

You were used to the busy lifestyle, and you had lowered your expectations quite the amount after realizing that your life would never be the same again - this was confirmed for sure when you died, which was not so weird in your hometown, and came back as a vampire. You were a part of the supernatural, and that was something you learned to live with, something you accepted, and it wasn't all bad really, but it was true that your days of relaxation and calmness were over for the most part.

But, there happened to be miraculous situations where you, for some reason, didn't have to attend the latest drama surrounding your friend group, and on those days, you took all the fun out of your free time. The latest threat in town, the Mikaelsons, had pushed Stefan and Damon into coming up with a plan to deal with the complicated family, and even though at first you insisted on joining them in whatever they were planning to do, you were given the chance to take some time cooling off from the heated troubles your life was all about nowadays.

And since Katherine Pierce happened to be on the run from Klaus, she aimed to leave town as soon as her plans had went south, not really fond of the idea of walking on the same streets as her enemy. So, you and her jumped in the car she got for you by compelling its owner, and you put on your Roadtrip CD as you started to drive out of town. You didn't have any big plans, and you weren't going to join Katherine in her escapade, but you did fancy the idea of leaving Mystic Falls behind for one day to go shopping for new clothes.

"Is this really the best of your roadtrip songs?", Katherine asked, rolling her eyes as she smirked at you, making you laugh with your mouth agape with fake hurt feelings. The doppelgänger was your favorite, of all the people mostly, and you loved spending time with her, therefore you were used to sass and sarcasm, and the same worked the other way around. You were so similar, you could have been mistaken for sisters, and perhaps you were family, by bond though, not by blood.

Katherine moved her curls away from her shoulder, and you offered her a witty remark about your fantastic taste in music as she parked the car and stopped it, so it was safe for you to get out. As soon as you were standing underneath the warm sun, you pushed your sunglasses up and smiled widely, enjoying the lovely spring weather while linking arms with Katherine and strutting towards the entrance of the mall you were standing in front of. You weren't even entirely sure of your location, but it was warm, nice and calm, so it was perfect, for sure.

You and her walked in, and soon enough your sunglasses were hanging on the collar of your shirt, while your eyes wandered around, taking in every unseen detail and unfamiliar surroundings. You had never been there before, so it was exciting and fun, and it was easy to find yourselves in one of the many shops, where you ended up in the middle of the racks full of stunning clothes you could imagine both you and Katherine wearing. Your arms disconnected, and you went your separate ways, although remained close to each other but you were looking through different shelves.

It was quiet between you and her, excluding the few comments about a cute shirt, but while it wasn't awkward at all, Katherine still seemed to feel the need to break the silence and she knew a perfect way to do that. "So, tell me Y/N, what do you think of Stefan? He's hot, right?", the doppelgänger grinned, glancing at you over her shoulder before inspecting a tank top that was pretty much exactly her style. You chuckled, knowing perfectly what Katherine was going for, but you couldn't stop yourself from nodding while holding up a pair of jeans.

"He is hot", you nodded, admitting what was only true, "I just don't know if I am", your voice uncertain, although you had learned to be more confident over times but could you be enough for Stefan? It was a question, to which Katherine seemed to hold the answer, and in amusement, she chuckled while taking a pair of high heels, just your size.

"You are smoking hot, Y/N. Especially if you buy these", she winked, and gave you the pair of shoes which you judged as they rested on your hands. You shrugged, and put them down, promising yourself to check them out again later, after all they were nice but maybe not what you were looking for. Katherine added a few more comments about Stefan and the undeniable spark between you and him - if there was someone she was willing to give Stefan up for, it was you. You were her best friend, so although the younger Salvatore held a special place in her heart, she would have arranged a date between you and him in a heartbeat.

When you decided that the shop was drained of all the nicest clothes, and you couldn't find anything, you changed places. From the first store, you walked to another, and as you were going through party dresses, Katherine brought up the subject of boys again. It wasn't that you didn't enjoy it, because the men in Mystic Falls were all actually quite hot, so much that sometimes you wondered how it was possible, but nonetheless, the subject was fine. And, Katherine was stuck with the idea of you going out with one of the men in your hometown, and perhaps, it was a plan you would gladly put in action.

"This would look great on you, sweetie. I think, Kol would like it a lot", Katherine spoke up and lifted a dress in your favorite color, offering you a wink which made you giggle. You took the dress in your hands, and you had to agree, it was gorgeous and would look amazing on you, so you draped it over your arm to take it to the dressing rooms later, where you could try it on.

When you found a dress you could imagine Katherine wearing - meaning sexy, tight and black - you showed it to her with a grin. "And I think Elijah would like this quite the bit, don't you?", you said, wiggling your eyebrows as you shoved the dress to Katherine, not taking any arguments. Katherine rolled her eyes, but couldn't hide the wide grin, and you ended up giggling between the racks together, leaning against each other while your hands roamed through the wide selection of all kinds of dresses.

"Are you suggesting an Original double date?", Katherine laughed, making you do the same. God, spending time with her was always so much fun, and for once, you truly enjoyed yourself. It was great to take time off, have a day without supernatural drama in Mystic Falls, and you were more than happy to spend all of the free time with Katherine by your side.

"No!", you argued, "but I wouldn't say no."

Hours later, you and Katherine were sitting at a café in the shopping center, with bags resting at your feet - you had certainly gotten carried away with buying clothes, but luckily, you had all the money you needed. And if you'd run out, there was always compulsion, right? But, somehow the clothes had fallen into second place, and you preferred just laughing and talking about boys with her. It was plenty of fun to gossip, giggle and act somewhat normal, which were all things you didn't get to experience because of becoming a vampire at such an early age. But, things were fine now, and you could genuinely say you were happy.

"Okay, rate Jeremy from 1-10", Katherine challenged, and after taking a sip of your milkshake, you could easily respond.

"Solid ten, obviously", you answered as if it was as clear as crystal. "I mean, he's hot. And he cares a lot. He does have his own issues, but I think being his girlfriend would be so awesome. And, did I mention-- He's super hot", you sighed, falling into daydreams of the Gilbert boy. Katherine swallowed the rest of her milkshake, and began playing with the straw, not wanting to admit that she agreed, but she did it anyway, although with a displeased look on her face.

"I can't believe I'm saying this, but you're right. But, please, no more talk about Jeremy because thinking about his abs doesn't feel right", Katherine grimaced, making you laugh out loud which earned a lot of judging looks towards you, but you failed to give a damn. It was your day-off, and you were going to enjoy it as much as only possible.

You looked around the mall, sighing happily while your eyes followed the people on the lower floor. It was so peaceful, no fights or blood in sight, and the sun was shining through the glass windows in the ceiling, warming your skin while light chatter filled your eyes and made you feel somewhat calm. You turned to look at Katherine again, who had bought a new milkshake whilst you adored the surroundings, and then proceeded to rant about the men of Mystic Falls, but you were too deep in your thoughts to pay attention. For a while - then the topic just got too tempting to resist.

"--And that's why I think Elijah is way too under-appreciated", Katherine eventually sighed, finishing her rather long explanation, of which you enjoyed every single second. You nodded your head in agreement, and stole a sip from her second milkshake before leaning back in your chair and nodding once again to confirm her words.

"But, Klaus, though", you let out a dreamy sigh, "man, if I were you, I would be running towards him, not away from him", giving Katherine a smirk while resting your face against your palm. Your eyes locked, and Katherine gave you a look of disbelief, but you were only speaking the truth, that's all.

She chuckled. "You know if he catches me he'll kill me, right?", Katherine raised an eyebrow, but to you, it was a terrible explanation. Klaus was charming as all hell, and you definitely wanted to get some alone time once the perfect chance would arrive.

"Which would be a privilege, in my opinion", you stated, rather seriously which made Katherine roll her eyes for the hundreth time that day, but as always, she broke into a grin. She loved you way too much to be mad or mean to you. You mirrored her expression, and someone gave you a weird look, as if you looked almost too similar and wicked, but you couldn't care less. If anything, you loved to be like her, after all, you did admire her with all of your heart.

You were so happy to have her as your friend, and glad that you got to spend the day doing something else than ripping out hearts. Although you did love being a vampire and helping your friends, you always appreciated a day spent by shopping and talking about boys with your one true best friend.
