Imagine Kol confessing his feelings to you through a song he sends you
Kol Mikaelson was sitting by the kitchen table in the abattoir where he and his siblings resided, on a lovely street in the magical city that went by the name New Orleans. In his hands, was a phone that he had been staring at for far too long, pondering whether he should confess his feelings to a girl he had fallen for, or just keep them to himself.
That special girl was you. At first, you were just another chick for Kol to flirt with, someone he aimed to sleep with, but eventually he realized that he grew much fonder of you, and he wanted so much more than just sex. His lust for you didn't go anywhere, but it had to share a space with the utter love he felt for you, a burning affection in his heart that he wanted to quiet down by just feeling his lips on you, or your fingers intertwining with his. He was head over heels in love with you, which was new, weird and different for a heartbreaker like Kol, but it was quite real.
"For god's sakes, are you still staring at the bloody lyrics? Just send them to Y/N! How hard can it be?", Kol's sister's, Rebekah's voice rang through the kitchen, startling the Original vampire. Kol turned to look at the woman who walked across the kitchen, and sit opposite his brother, with her leg thrown the other while a smug smirk pulled up her red lips. Rebekah leaned back on the chair, and waved her foot in the air, causing the high heel to catch Kol's attention while his sister proceeded to rant about the good sides of confessing his love to you.
Rebekah had been following Kol's development for a while now. He could tell, from the first meeting, that you'd be the girl that would change Kol drastically, but to a good direction. Her brother was constantly in danger, he was practically begging for it, thinking he was impossible to beat and always victorious, but he had been killed once already, hadn't he? Rebekah wanted him to see the miracle of love in the same light as she, and she wanted someone to understand her, and she knew that through you, Kol would become a better man. He'd fall in love. And Rebekah was entirely right - you had changed Kol, and he no longer cared about sleeping around or ruining innocent people's lives. He just wanted you.
"If you must tease me, please escort yourself out. You know where the door is, sister", Kol spat, rolling his eyes while taking his soft lip between his teeth and chewing on it thoughtfully. His eyes lowered from Rebekah, who wouldn't stop smirking, to the phone screen where the lyrics of a song remained. It was a song that described his feelings for you quite well, and he wanted to send it to you, thinking it would be romantic but somehow he just couldn't push himself to it. He had never understood love like this, or what made having a crush so hard, but now, he could relate to every man who ever fell in love.
"I'm not trying to tease you, darling. I'm trying to encourage you, that's all. Really, Kol, I bet my life Y/N loves you just as much as you do, but you're rather intimidating, and she's the sweetest girl ever, so obviously she won't tell you how she feels. You need to man up, and send her a message. This ship needs to sail", Rebekah explained and gave her brother a stern look as she leaned over the table. "Send the message", she added, and smacked her palm against the table before jumping up from her seat and strutting out of the kitchen, leaving a surprised Kol behind. He had no clue that his sister supported the thought of him and you being together so strongly, but it gave him a confidence boost and Kol found himself opening the chat between you and him.
He briefly went through the messages before today, smiling at the bunch of emojis you always used. It had taken him a while to learn how to use a phone, and it had been a confusing road but eventually he got the hang of it and the first thing he did, was chat you. You taught him all about emojis, gifs and other necessary things he needed to know to survive in the confusing world of social media. He was grateful, and as he scrolled through the messages you had sent to each other in the past months, an inevitable smile widened his lips more and more.
You were the one he always chatted with until 3 a.m. He could hit you up in the middle of the night, and you always replied, and together you laughed for hours until you fell asleep with the phone in hand. Whenever Kol saw something funny, you were the one he sent it to first. When you just needed to unload stress and rant to someone, you opened the chat between you and Kol, knowing he'd always listen to you and comfort you.
You had grown close quickly, but in Kol's opinion, it wasn't enough. And you agreed, but you just had never spoken about it.
Eventually, Kol found the courage to start a conversation, and his fingers quickly wrote a message that he sent after reading it through at least five times.
Kol took a deep breath, and he knew he was already in too deep to back out now. He had to admit his feelings for you, and god, how much easier it was to say than to do. A million thoughts ran in his head, and he went through each scenario, how would you react, and whatever he did, he always ended up thinking about the worst one. He was worried, that you'd reject him, break his heart and cause him humiliation so deep he'd never get over it.
Kol ran his fingers through his hair nervously, and continued to chew on his lower lip until it was nearly bleeding, while his eyes read your latest message for the hundreth time. He smiled slightly at the thought of you, but when he snapped back into the reality of the moment, realizing that he had to do something, right now, his smile faded and turned into a frown. He was downright scared, more than ever, and he would have rather shoved a stake up his ass than deal with you laughing at his face, at the pathetic attempt to win you to himself.
Somehow, he still managed to continue chatting, and let the flood of messages break out of his shaky fingers. Concern was the main feeling in his heart, but with each message that he sent, he started to feel like a heavy weight was lifted from his heart, and the worry started to change into relief. Relief that confessing his feelings to you brought him - he had been holding them in for so long.
The relief washed away soon, and he grew worried and ashamed when you didn't reply anymore. He was used to quick responses from you, but now you stopped, and his heart sank at the thought of you ignoring him on purpose. It started to strongly seem like you didn't feel the same way, and it caused a lump to rise in Kol's heart while his eyes burned with salty tears. He had felt so brave, but was it all for nothing? He loved you, deeply, and it would hurt more than death to know that you didn't feel the same way. After all you had done and experienced together, it would be a kick in the heart to find out that you only wanted friendship of him.
Kol pushed his hand through hair again, a habit he repeated whenever he was nervous, and he certainly was that now, more than ever. His hands were shaking, and he struggled to type a single word, but he managed to send you the link of the song he had been thinking of, Be Somebody by Thousand Foot Krutch. He aimed to save the situation with the song, and silently prayed for you to come back and reply something, anything. He didn't want to push or scare you away, and when words couldn't do much more, he hoped the song did.
It was indeed a beautiful song, and he felt like the lyrics matched his feelings for you quite wonderfully. He was nothing before you. You completed him, fixed him, changed him. And he wished that you'd see and understand how much you meant to him, how much you had done for him by only smiling and being yourself.
"My God, I love you", he sighed, and placed the phone on the table before dropping his head between his arms. He sighed heavily, not wanting this to happen, not wanting this to be a mistake, but it seemed like it now and it made Kol cry. Silent tears fell on his cheeks, and he quickly wiped them away when he heard footsteps from behind him. He lifted his head from his hands, and turned to see Rebekah who offered a comforting smile to her brother.
"I'm sorry, Kol", was all Rebekah could say, when Kol's phone suddenly made the sound it always did when he received a new message. Rebekah's eyes widened, and Kol turned to his phone in shock, his trembling hands searching for it until he had it placed against his palm, his eyes reading through the messages you sent him.
Happily shouting, Kol jumped from his seat and wrapped his arms around Rebekah, giving her a hug out of pure happiness. He started to cry tears of joy in the moment of weakness and happiness mixed together, and Rebekah laughed while his brother shook on her arms. He hugged Rebekah tightly, and only let go when his phone made another sound, and his eyes met a text message where you asked when he'd come over so you could kiss him.
Kol quickly wrote another message for you, and let go of Rebekah before dancing over to the front door. Rebekah lifted an eyebrow, and followed her sibling to the door where Kol was singing along the song he sent you while pulling his shoes on and throwing his jacket on his broad shoulders.
"My apologies sister, but I have a girl I must kiss right away", he smirked widely, and fled the house, ready to come over to you and take you on his arms.
In no time, he had driven his car to your driveway, and jumped from behind the wheel and ran to your front door. You were already waiting, and swung the door open so Kol could stumble in, and grab you tightly. His arm went behind your back, and he swooped you closer to his muscular body as he leaned his face down to yours, so it was easy for him to crash his lips on yours roughly.
Kol's chapped lips on yours made you moan softly against his mouth, and you closed your eyes in pleasure while your body melted on his arms, going even closer when it was almost impossible to do so. One of your hands resided on the back of his head, pushing him harder to you, while the other rested on his shoulder, and Kol's ended up on your waist. He was taller than you, so he could easily cradle you in a warm embrace, while he deepened the kiss by tracing his tongue on your lip, begging for entrance which you gladly granted. His breath was hot on you, while you weren't even sure if you were breathing, but the soft sighs and moans you let out once in a while meant that you were still alive.
Eventually, Kol disconnected your lips and you let out a protesting sound which made him flash his famous smirk as he rested his forehead against yours. His hands moved from your waist to your jawline, and he supported your head while gazing into your eyes fondly, adoring you like you were the center of the universe.
"I've been wanting to do that for so long, darling", Kol breathed out, his voice deep and attractive, the smirk evident as he spoke. You swallowed, and nodded your head, feeling yourself shiver under his warm touch and intense gaze. His brown eyes looking down at you made your heart skip a beat, and you couldn't help but smile as you stood body to body with him, still at your front door.
"Me too."
