Imagine dating Stefan, when Elena moves to Mystic Falls and you're afraid you'll lose him to her
"I heard there's a new girl in town."
You lifted an eyebrow while looking at Caroline who was sitting opposite you, and you sipped on your coffee while looking around Mystic Grill where the two of you had been hanging out for the past hour. Caroline's smile was wide and genuine, and she seemed rather happy about a new potential friend to gossip with, while in your opinion, you had enough friends. A new girl would just stir the drama that had taken over your lives ever since you found out about the vampires in Mystic Falls, and especially after you and Caroline both died tragically together and joined the supernatural.
"A new girl?", you chuckled and shook your head as you put down your cup. "You seem excited", you pointed out and gave a look to Caroline who clasped her hands together and nodded. She proceeded to rant about the pros and cons of having a new friend, and then dreamed of the perfect friend - as if you weren't one - and told you what she expected of this new girl. You just shook your head again, and sighed but smiled as your best friend rambled about everything possible, but it was good that one of you knew how to talk, because if not, you'd just sit in an awkward silence and you hated those.
"You don't, though", Caroline then said, and you turned to look at her after viewing the surroundings and searching for a new face, if the girl happened to be at the Grill but all you saw was familiar people and it made you scoff in disappointment. You were distracted by your own thoughts, so you had to ask Caroline to repeat her words and when she did, you shrugged slightly, not wanting to seem too displeased by the fact that someone new had arrived and would most likely join your relatively, but comfortably small group of friends. But that was exactly what you were. Displeased. You couldn't help but feel like you wouldn't like her.
"Do you feel threatened? Jealous?", Caroline asked, leaning over the table from the other side of the booth to be closer to you. You finished your coffee, feeling the warm drink slide down your throat and you pursed your lips carefully as you set the cup down and knitted your eyebrows together in confusion. Caroline gasped, thinking she was correct, whilst you couldn't really see where the question even came from.
"Why would I be jealous, or threatened?", you asked and smiled at the blondie in amusement, struggling to see her point. Caroline leaned back, and crossed her arms as she tilted her head towards the entrance of the Grill, where you saw your other best friend, Bonnie, and with her, your beloved boyfriend Stefan. But there was a third person, one who you couldn't recognize, one you didn't remember seeing, ever.
It was the new girl.
And she was damn pretty, with her innocent smile and bubbly laughter and a flawless face and a body to die for. You sat up straight, and looked at the sight sternly, not believing your boyfriend was all over the girl and a feeling you had experienced before, though rarely, bubbled up in your chest and burned you as you held your fists by your sides and stared at the three of them.
"No, I'm not jealous", you spat, but your tone was a bit too venomous and Caroline noticed this, causing her to snicker lightly while she looked at them as well. You rolled your eyes, and tried to relax, but then Stefan and Bonnie spotted you and Caroline and you had to force a fake smile when they waved at you. And even worse, they started to lead the new girl to you and her.
"Oh my god, no, they're coming here", you groaned, and Caroline laughed again.
"Sure, you're not jealous at all", she winked, but then forgot all about the conversation you had, and jumped up from her seat with a bright smile, ready to welcome the new girl while you pouted and remained on your seat. You didn't want to say hi to her, you didn't want to know her name, you didn't want to be friends with her, and you didn't want her to be friends with your friends. You weren't jealous just because of Stefan, you were jealous because she looked like a precious little angel, the perfect girl next door and could steal your friends and take your position if she just wanted to.
Stefan came to sit next to you, and after grabbing your hand he pressed a gentle kiss against it and smiled widely. "Hi", he whispered and moved his lips from your hand to your cheek, feeling the soft skin while intertwining your fingers. You smiled back at him - although you were irritated by the new chick, your boyfriend always made you happy. You even forgot about the girl for a moment, but after one blissful kiss with Stefan, he told you he wanted you to meet Elena Gilbert and you grimaced but covered it with your best fake smile.
"Sure, I'd love to", you forced yourself to say, and then looked over to Elena who offered you her hand and you shook it. It took you all of your control to not crush her hand, but somehow you managed to introduce yourself calmly and with a smile on your face, which surprised Caroline and she gave you an impressed look and an approving nod.
"Elena Gilbert", the girl smiled, "I can't believe I've already met this many great people, I feel so lucky!", and you laughed awkwardly. Caroline suffocated a chuckle as you tried to act nice to Elena, but the truth was, you didn't give a damn about her. Maybe you were being a bit too harsh, and judging too easily, but at least she didn't know. You did a good fake smile and pretended to be nice quite well.
"Yeah, well, welcome to Mystic Falls", you smiled, but then looked at Stefan and let your smile die as you gave him a bored look. Stefan knitted his eyebrows together, and you were already about to confess that you didn't want to be there anymore because of Elena, but then Caroline, Bonnie and Elena all sat down and Caroline ordered food for all of you to share while getting to know each other better. Typical Caroline.
You shot her a glare, but she just responded with a smile. Typical Caroline.

"So, Elena, huh? What do you think?", you asked that night, when you and Stefan were both in your bedroom, almost ready to go to sleep. You took your shirt off, and replaced it with the one you always slept in - one of Stefan's - while looking at him. You earned a chuckle from him with your question, but you weren't amused at all, if anything, you were heavily troubled by the arrival of the Gilbert girl, although he did have a decently handsome little brother. But you didn't think of Jeremy as someone you could flirt with, and you had no plans to steal Elena's brother, as long as she wouldn't steal your goddamn boyfriend.
"What do I think?", Stefan chuckled and walked towards you, shirtless but unfortunately one was in his hands. You took a good look at his bare upper body, adoring each inch but then locked your gaze with his when he had pulled the white t-shirt on. "I think she's a sweet girl. I wouldn't like to involve her in our lives, you know, supernatural lives, but Caroline and Bonnie seem pretty fond of her. She's nice, I like her", Stefan explained, and shrugged as he slid his hands down your arms and to your hips to pull you closer. You wrapped your arms around his neck and raised an eyebrow, but before you could say anything, he did.
"But you should never in a million years feel jealous, because she is nothing compared to you. And I would never do anything to hurt you, alright? I love you, Y/N, and I promise I wouldn't leave your side because of Elena", Stefan continued, and set one of his hands on the back of your head to easily push you closer so he could kiss you. Your lips met, and you smiled into the kiss while holding Stefan close to you. He was always so sweet.
But still, the jealousy remained in you and you couldn't help it.
In the morning, you woke up alone. Stefan's spot was empty, though warm and smelled like him so you liked to roll over to it and enjoy the feeling, but what bothered you was the fact that your eyes met a note on the nightstand, and on it, was written "Sorry you had to wake up without me, I left to show Elena around. Love you xx", which earned a loud groan from you. Well, Elena certainly knew how to make a girl jealous. So far, you couldn't stand her, or even the thought of her.
So much for never leaving your side to be with Elena, huh.
Since Stefan was gone, you had to wake up, and kick off the morning all by yourself. It was stupid, he was always there with you but now he was out with Elena who was probably all over him. The thought made you sick, and you nearly struggled with drinking some blood before heading out, but imagining that it was from Elena's dead body seriously motivated you and you sucked the blood bag dry from each drop.
"I'm Elena Gilbert and I'm the prettiest princess in Mystic Falls and everyone loves me", you faked her voice as you danced in front of the mirror. "Yeah, fuck you", you added, and then threw on your leather jacket as you walked out of the house to head over to Mystic Grill where you were going to meet with Caroline. And only Caroline.

"Anyway, that's why I think all the most handsome actors are named Chris. I mean, I'm not complaining, but I'm starting to see a pattern. And it's one sexy pattern", Caroline shrugged and looked at you while sipping on her drink. You weren't even listening, just staring into the distance, although the subject Caroline was going at was relatively interesting to you, but you were too occupied with the thought of the new girl sticking her tongue down your boyfriend's throat.
"Y/N! You weren't even listening", your friend snapped, pouting at you and earning your attention. You took a quick sip of your drink, and then nodded your head rapidly, promising that you were listening but she knew you were lying. As always, she knew exactly what you were thinking about, and not even your long list of famous Chrises could save your ass when Caroline had already changed subject to the one thing she knew you were thinking about rather obsessively.
"So, have you spent time with Elena yet?", she spoke suggestively, slowly moving onto the matter. You grimaced, and shook your head while looking at the entrance of the hangout, as if expecting Stefan and Elena to walk in at any moment, holding hands and what not.
"Not one of my main priorities right now", you spoke through gritted teeth and gave a glare to Caroline, "besides, she's too busy stealing my boyfriend from me", making your best friend roll her eyes. She sighed, and covered her face with her palms while resting her elbows on the table. Clearly she couldn't believe you were being this paranoid, though she would have been the same way if she was in the situation and then you would have been the one trying to calm her down.
"Don't you trust Stefan?", Caroline asked while looking at you and rolling her eyes.
You nodded, confirming that you did indeed trust your boyfriend. "It's Elena I don't trust. Something about her gets to me. I'm going to lose Stefan, I'm so going to lose him. She's so perfect, it makes me sick. But you know who likes it? Literally everyone", you ranted and groaned, trying to make Caroline see your point, which she kind of did. Elena was perfect, or at least so far she seemed like it, and you could only pray she would turn out to have a huge flaw. Or maybe, you'd just rip her heart out and tell everyone she left Mystic Falls after seeing that the hottest guy in town was already taken by the hottest girl in town.
You and Caroline couldn't talk more, when the door opened and Elena and Stefan walked in and you smacked your hand against the table. You had known they'd come there sooner or later, and you wanted to see what they'd do so you grabbed and Caroline and pulled her down with you, hoping that you wouldn't be seen, but it was quite desperate. You and Caroline hid, and she giggled while you held a hand on her mouth, but it was a poor attempt and in only a few seconds, Elena and Stefan were already standing by your table, looking at the two of you and wondering what the hell you were doing.
"Uh, hi!", you greeted awkwardly and sat up again, realizing it didn't make any sense to try hiding anymore. Caroline shook her head, but laughed while looking at the embarrassed look on your face, and you couldn't hide it so instead you just stared at Stefan and Elena. Stefan looked at you with disbelief, but his lips lifted up with a happy smile, as if he was so proud to have you as his girlfriend. And he really was, he loved you with all of his heart but you couldn't believe that when you looked at the two of them. Goddamnit, they already looked like the perfect couple.
Caroline nudged you, and tilted her head towards Stefan and you let out a heavy sigh as you knew what you had to do. You nodded, and got up from the booth before taking Stefan's hand, and leading her away from Elena and Caroline. It felt so good to see him, but you were still suspicious, jealous, and now, even sadness kicked in because of the thought of losing Stefan to someone else. Losing him to anyone or anything would be equally terrible, really, and you suddenly wanted to cry because what the actual fuck would you do without him by your side?
You had met him so many years ago, and you fell in love instantly, and the feeling was quite mutual. He loved you just as much as you loved him, and you had created so many memories together and you shared such a special bond, you had no clue what you would do with your life if you couldn't wake up next to him each morning and go to sleep with him each night. You hated the thought of being without him, and the impulsive need to hug him came over you and you quickly, tightly, wrapped your arms around him and breathed in his beautiful scent.
"Are you in love with Elena?", you blurted out, mumbling against his chest while squeezing him tightly. Stefan chuckled, and you felt hurt by his amusement and looked up at him with a sad look on your face. "Are you?", you insisted, and luckily, Stefan shook his head. And god, what a relief it was.
"I am not. I'm in love with you, remember? You're my girlfriend, Y/N", Stefan smiled and kissed your forehead softly. You sighed, and let him move your hair away from your face while kissing your cheeks, jaw, nose and finally lips. He showered you with kisses, and you broke into a smile as well because of all the attention and affection, and because Elena was probably seeing all of this and you needed her to know that you and Stefan were serious.
"I know, but she... I think... She seems like someone you'd fall in love with if I wasn't here", you shrugged, suddenly feeling insecure and sad more than prepared to kick ass. You had been so angry and confident until now, and you could barely hold in tears. Being in love with someone was so hard sometimes.
Stefan laughed lightly, and shook his head before kissing you again. His lips were soft, and they felt right against yours, and the familiar taste took your breath away until you had to break away, only to go for another one. Stefan's hand found its way onto your cheek, and he held your face gently while pressing his lips against yours, moving perfectly as one of his arms hooked you from your waist and pulled you closer to him. You closed your eyes, and he did the same while you tasted each other's lips and enjoyed the intense kiss like it was the last you'd ever have.
"I love you, Y/N, believe me. Elena is nice, but she's only a friend, I don't know if she agrees but even if she would try something with me, I'd turn her down because I'm already dating the best girl I could possibly have", Stefan whispered, "and she's so beautiful", and placed a kiss on your lips, "and funny", another kiss, "and amazing in every possible way", another, "and I love her too much to ever even consider leaving her."
You breathed out happily, "I love you", and hugged him again. Stefan smiled, and answered the same way while taking your hand. You looked up at him, and ran your fingers through his fluffy hair and admired his features, from the long eyelashes to the unbelievable jawline, the beautiful eyes and the red lips that continued to rise. He was so beautiful. And he was all yours.
Turned out, Elena did kind of have a crush on Stefan, but you weren't worried or jealous anymore. Stefan only had eyes for you, and you made it clear to her - you and Stefan were in love and no one could come between you, not even Elena Gilbert.
