Imagine having a huge snowball fight with everyone

A loud scream echoed through the yard of the Salvatore boarding house as you fell onto the ground with a thud, your whole body shivering as you came to touch with the cold snow. A groan of pain rose from your throat and you rolled onto your back, and your hands gripped your knee which you hurt on the way down, but you were quick to get up since you heard the enemy approaching you and you had no plans to lose tonight.

"I think it's safe to say, you're dead, Kol", you grunted as you grabbed a handful of snow from the ground and smacked it into the Mikaelson's face before running elsewhere. You looked back to make sure that Kol was down, and smiled in satisfaction when you saw the Original vampire on the ground, only to get distracted by the small victory and give Kai Parker the opportunity to take you down again.

You looked forward, but you were too late, and Kai tossed a solid snowball straight to your face, earning a gasp from you as you fell backwards in shock. You groaned at the sharp pain in your behind, and shot Kai a glare but before you could jump up and avenge teaming up with Kol behind your back, he had pinned you down to the snow and hovered on top of you with a smug grin dancing on his pink lips.

"You're slow, Y/L/N", Kai mocked and came near your face, his lips almost possible for you to taste, but you didn't give in to the distraction, though decided to go with it. You could hear Kol sneaking up on you again, and you knew that once you'd beat Kai, Kol would try to attack you with snowballs so you came prepared, and smirked while placing your hand on the back of Kai's head.

"Is that so, Parker?", you grinned, about to kiss him, but before you granted him the pleasure of feeling your lips on his, you threw a chunk of snow down his shirt and pushed him off of you. As soon as Kai was on the ground, Kol tried to come from behind but you kicked him off of his feet and threw snow on his face while sticking out your tongue.

"You guys are mean", you teased, and then got up from the ground to run away from them. You hid behind a tree, and it just so happened that your teammate Rebekah was hiding there as well. You laughed lightly, and crouched down to catch your breath while the Original vampire joined your laughter in amusement. She offered you a snowball, and you thanked her while taking it and preparing it for whoever would catch you.

"Kol is good at games, so is Kai, but I see you are even better, love", Rebekah smirked and pushed you gently with her elbow. You lifted an eyebrow and smugly smiled, knowing it was really something to earn a compliment like that, especially from her.

For the past hour, you had been going at this. It was your idea to put up a snowball fight, and after splitting the whole gang of Mystic Falls into four teams, an intense game had begun. It was an ideal way to spend a Saturday, and surprisingly, most of your friends agreed and therefore it hadn't even been a challenge to get everyone outside into the snow. Sure, Elijah was somewhat displeased with the idea of playing in the snow with his suit on but he had no intentions to take it off either, and Katherine wasn't sure how she'd make the high heels work, but after you explained how you needed a team of badass chicks - and Elijah -, she agreed. There was some surprises too, especially Klaus, who you expected to be dragged out but he was the one who was up for it the most, perhaps because he liked to be victorious and rule and slay - sometimes literally, but this time luckily only at the game.

"Behind you, darling", Rebekah pointed out, before sprinting away, and left you with Jeremy who thought you hadn't noticed him yet, but thanks to Bekah, and the snow creaking underneath his shoes, you got the upper hand and managed to smack his own snowball in his face. You grinned victoriously as the Gilbert screamed like a little girl, earning a dead cold glare from him, and in that moment you knew that it was a declaration of war and it got you running while Jeremy followed with his hands full of thick snow.

"Y/N, stop running, you and I both know who will win", Jeremy threatened and started to approach you which made you squeal in the middle of the excited giggles, but neither of you expected a third party to bring a plot twist to the battle between you and him. So, you and him both were more or less shocked when Klaus appeared from behind the corner with dozens of snowballs, and Stefan and Damon by his sides.

The three of them started to bombard you, and the recent friction between you and Jeremy was forgotten, and he was no longer the enemy as you jumped onto his arms and let him carry you to what was supposed to be safety but turned out to be the bottom of the pile of snow on the ground after he stumbled on his own feet. You stumbled up, and yelled a not-so heartfelt apology as you left Jeremy for the Salvatores and Klaus to have, and ran your own way.

You didn't get far, when you bumped into Elijah, which made you scream in panic but after realizing that it was one of your own, you calmed down. Your palm went to your chest and you crouched down again to catch your heavy breath, but you didn't have time to stay put when Elijah had swooped you up and taken you on his arms. Your hand went to the back of his head and you melted underneath the heroic look as he grinned proudly and held you tightly on his muscular arms.

"Need a hand, dear?", Elijah asked smoothly, sending shivers down your already chilly skin. You opened your mouth but couldn't stutter out a single word, instead you just nodded and it grew Elijah's smirk out as he jumped onto the roof of the Salvatore house where you found Katherine and Rebekah as well. They were bickering, and you rolled your eyes but it wasn't such a big surprise so you ended up smiling after thanking Elijah for saving your ass. He set you down, and you went to the doppelgänger and the Original who were surrounded by a bunch of snowballs.

"How come I have to be in the same team with the doppelbitch?", Rebekah asked with a polite smile but she was dripping with sarcasm and earned a suffocated chuckle from you. Katherine gave Rebekah a bitchy smile, and threw one of the snowballs onto the Original's face which was a very potential mistake but you got in between before the tension got too thick and heads started to roll. You sat between the two, and gave both of them a stern look to stop them from annoying each other.

"Hey, don't waste those", you said with a serious tone, and then added, "and you're in the same team because I love you both and Elijah insisted on being with Bex. So suck it up, and let's kick some ass", and all they could do was nod in agreement. While they were both badass, neither of them bothered to stand up against you, partly because you were equally badass, and because they both liked you and valued your friendship too much to set it to flames.

"I agree with Y/N. C'mon, love, you and I can attack Niklaus, Damon, Stefan, Kol and Alaric. Rebekah, you go after Elena, Bonnie, Enzo and Kai. Katherine, if only you could be kind enough to take care of Ms. Forbes, Tyler, Matt and little Gilbert", Elijah smiled and took your hand. You all went separate ways with hands full of snowballs, but before you left the roof, Katherine winked at you all.

"Not so little Gilbert", she teased, and then jumped off of the roof. Elijah lifted his eyebrow and stood with a rather uncomfortable look on his face, as if he was biting on a lemon, while you just laughed and Rebekah rolled her eyes.

"She's the worst", you laughed, "I love her."

Unfortunately, you were pretty sure you were alone on that.

You and Elijah left the roof and sneaked up on the Salvatores, Klaus and Alaric. You took Alaric, and dumped snow on him, leaving him whining on the ground before you ran behind a tree where you made a nice, solid snowball and threw it at Kol as a revenge for the earlier. You succeeded on beating him, which came as a shocker since he was an Original vampire, and you, well, you weren't. Yet you managed to take him down with a few snowballs, and it earned a smug laughter from you as you headed towards Stefan only to get knocked down by Damon. You squealed as you fell onto your back, and tried to crawl up but Damon had you pinned down to the ground, stopping you from escaping.

"I don't think so, baby girl", he smirked, and you stuck out your tongue when you didn't come up with anything better. Damon created a snowball, and he was about to drop it onto your face but then you saw Elijah creep behind him and you returned the smirk Damon flashed at you. It made him knit his eyebrows together in confusion, but he didn't have time to explain when Elijah had smashed a snowball into the back of his head. Damon fell on top of you, and you easily pushed him off of you so you could jump up and bump your fists together with Elijah.

You had successfully defeated the first group, and in no time you found the others on the other side of the large yard. People were rolling in the snow, even your teammates, but they had done a good job too. You smiled, and Elijah did too, as you approached the people left standing - it had been a good couple of hours.

Your face was wet from the melted snow, and your hair freezing just like your eyelashes, coated with frost while your whole body shivered yet felt so hot after the big fight. Your cheeks were red, and your eyes barely visible from underneath the beanie that had slipped lower and lower by the second, and although the chilly air was pinching you like you expected it to - it was after all winter for gosh's sakes - you did feel warm too. Mostly on the inside. You were very happy, not only because you got to spend time with your friends but because you didn't have to do it separately. They all came together and put all fights behind them just to spend the day on a snowball fight.

They were good people, even if sometimes they made it hard to believe.

"Looks like the fight is over. I gotta say, this was definitely the most serious one we've had so far", Tyler chuckled and came to your side. He managed to make you laugh, no matter what the situation and you weren't afraid of letting out a few light chuckles now either. You rested your head on his shoulder and calmed down before walking over to Bonnie and Caroline who were cleaning Kai from all the snow covering his body.

"I could have done this myself, you know", Kai grinned and locked eyes with Bonnie, which you absolutely noticed and remembered to bring up later. You smiled and exchanged a few words with Caroline, while Bonnie and Kai kept the conversation going.

"Yeah, but you wanted to feel my hands on you, admit it", Bonnie teased and rolled her eyes slightly but ended up smiling, mirroring Kai's expression. You smiled too, and nudged Caroline so she'd notice the two of them too, and she was left teasing Bonnie about it while you continued your way to Kol. You and him talked about the fair fight, and then you continued to roam around the yard, catching up with everyone and thanking them for joining you and accepting your wild idea of spending the day like this.

"You look cold, gorgeous", you heard Enzo speak from behind you, and when you turned around, you were already pulled into a warm, tight hug. You couldn't escape, and you didn't want to either, so you melted into the embrace and wrapped your arms around him while giggling and thanking him from the sweet gesture. You only let go when you heard Damon speak up from the roof where he raised his hands and cheered loudly at the somewhat unclear victory. No one really knew who won and who lost, but what counted most was the fact that everyone participated.

"Hot chocolate for everyone in the house!", Damon yelled, "with booze in it, of course!"

It was one great day, really, and it only made you more excited for the ice skating a few days later.
