Imagine going to New York with Elena, Caroline and Bonnie for New Year's Eve

"We should totally go to New York for New Year's Eve."

You couldn't quite remember whose idea it was originally, but ever since you first heard it, you fell in love with the thought. Caroline, Elena and Bonnie meant the most to you, more than anyone and they were always there for you, so when it was suggested that the four of you would leave Mystic Falls and its dangers and worries for a day to celebrate and party hard in New York, you obviously agreed.

You had never been to New York before. You had lived in Mystic Falls all your life, and since childhood you and the girls had been close and through the years, through all the drama and danger in the small town, you remained as best friends, sisters, even. Your bond had always been strong and unbreakable, and always would be, yet you hadn't visited New York together yet. But now, the time had arrived.

After some planning, the four of you were already on the road, sitting in your car, the album of your favorite band blasting through the speakers as you drove towards New York with nothing but a good time and lots of fun in mind. It was known already, at that very moment, with Elena behind the wheel, you next to her, and Bonnie and Caroline in the backseat, that the trip would be no doubt epic, the kind that you'd remember after decades. So you were excited of course, because none of you expected any less than the best, and as much fun as the road trip was, you ached to reach the city and party hard.

"You look happy", Bonnie pointed out when she noticed your wide smile and the genuinely happy eyes, and how your entire presence just radiated with joy and love. You shrugged, and with a light chuckle, you turned around in your seat to look at her. Bonnie's jaw rested on your seat so you were face to face, and it made the both of you smile as you stared into her hypnotizingly beautiful eyes.

"Why wouldn't I? I am happy. I get to spend New Year's Eve with you guys, my best friends. In freaking New York. I couldn't be happier, to be honest", you smiled and wiggled your eyebrows which made you and Bonnie burst into laughter. You took your distance, but kept your eyes on the backseats where Caroline and Bonnie laughed like you and Elena did.

You laughed a lot whenever you were around the girls, and you loved it. They could always make you happy, and when they couldn't, you'd make them happy. You were the funny one, the life and the party in the group and you enjoyed amusing, or sometimes shocking them with your jokes and comments. You were given the position of being a positive, awesome ball of sunshine and you accepted it completely.

"Yeah, well I have to agree with Y/N. I prefer this over dealing with the supernatural shit back in Mystic Falls. Or drunk Damon. Or the Mikaelsons and their evil plans, gosh those people never seem to have a break", Caroline rolled her eyes and crossed her arms, only to make the rest of you laugh harder at the blondie.

"Drunk Damon is quite the sight, though", you snickered, and the girls nodded in agreement. Many times, Damon had entertained the whole bunch in one way or another, and often he happened to be drunk which always just made it better. Damon was a good guy, whether you believed it or not at times.

"Also, I beg to differ with your annoyance with the Mikaelsons. To me, it seems like you kinda like them. One, especially", Elena said to Caroline who covered her face and groaned at the reference to Klaus. There was something going on between the two, you all knew it, and even if Caroline denied it, it was evident that Klaus fancied her nonetheless. The laughter just continued, and the happy atmosphere remained above you, filling the car while Elena kept on driving until you started to find the right place.

"Looks like we have arrived", Bonnie smiled. You cheered in the car, and turned the volume of the music louder as you made your way through the streets. New York was everything you wished it to be, it entirely fulfilled your dreams and hopes and went above your expectations. It was so beautiful, especially to eyes that had never before witnessed the magic of the state.

Soon enough, you found a spot where you left the car and then went to a hotel where Caroline compelled a five-star luxurious room for the four of you to share. Though you didn't aim to spend too much time there - there was much to do and experience before midnight and the crazy partying. After leaving your bags in the room, you headed out, parting ways as Elena and you went to get your hair done and Bonnie and Caroline went to shop for dresses for you all.

Elena wanted to do something new, and you didn't mind the change either, so you went to the nearest, but expensive place where you compelled two women to cut your hair and change the color to something wild. The perks of being a vampire, really - getting everything and anything with just some mind compulsion. Elena got some red in her hair and it was made more wavy and pretty, while you decided to go full-on crazy and got your hair dyed from your original, rather dull color to Y/F/C. You felt awesome, and gorgeous, so it was quite perfect.

"We need to get totally wasted tonight", you sighed when you and Elena were walking down the streets to the hotel where you had agreed to meet up with Caroline and Bonnie. It had been a long week, and a long year honestly, so you certainly needed to let loose and have fun before kicking off the hopefully better next year. You liked getting drunk, though you didn't do it as often as Damon did for example, but once in a while it was good to go wild and not give a fuck about anything. And as a vampire, you'd find a way to survive all the humiliating memories or the situations that could be fatal if you happened to be human. But you weren't, and you loved it.

"Agreed. I need a drink, and a million others to follow", Elena chuckled.

The two of you walked back to the hotel and to your room where Caroline and Bonnie were already trying the dresses on. Smiling, you sat on the edge of your bed and looked as Caroline twirled around, complaining about little details but adoring other equally small but beautiful things about the party dress she was currently wearing. She was picky, but it was easy to understand, you'd never celebrate 2015's New Year's Eve again and she had to look epic, no doubt of it.

While Caroline judged her looks and wanted to find perfection, Bonnie shrugged on a simple dress that looked lovely on her, but it wasn't as special as Caroline aimed for, yet it was enough for the Bennett witch. Happily smiling, Bonnie closed the zipper with Elena's help and with the dress on, she offered to give Elena a hand with her dream dress while you went for Caroline's help and support.

Eventually, the four girls in one hotel room, managed to all find proper clothes to wear and with your hair and make-up done, you left the building and walked towards the hottest club of the night. With your arms linked, you all, looking hot as all hell and flawless as always, turned many heads as you approached the club and giggled at the lingering looks and the flirtatious winks you received. The night wasn't about boys or girls though, except the three by your side. You had promised to stick together and not go with anyone to hook up or anything - you were supposed to go into 2016 together, hugging and having fun like you always did around each other. Tonight was about friends, who always stuck around when lovers didn't, and therefore you weren't turning your backs on each other.

Even though there was some seriously attracting, tempting eye candy at the club which you entered together.

"Let's go dancing", Caroline grinned, and took your hand, leading you to the dance floor while Bonnie and Elena stayed behind. They went to get drinks, but you and Caroline swayed from side to side, and enjoyed the insanely loud EDM music that pierced your ears in a fierce way that potentially hurt and caused them to ring afterwards, but in that moment, you couldn't do anything but love it. The both of you laughed while throwing your hands in the air like everyone else did and dancing along the hypnotizing beat.

"I love this song", you yelled over the loud music and Caroline nodded in agreement as a song you both thought of as a favorite boomed through the club, earning cheers from the crowd of sweaty, drunk people. It was fun, just letting go and having fun, enjoying each other's presence and not worrying about anything. There was no concerns, just you and Caroline, partying hard and loving the latest hits you could sing and dance along.

It took several songs to make the two of you exhausted, but once you got sick of dancing for a while, you made your way to the bar where Elena and Bonnie had stayed. They were both sipping on drinks and talking, and neither you or Caroline feared interrupting their conversations. Elena had two drinks in her hands so you took the other one and gulped it down, groaning at the satisfying taste and alcohol you needed in you. You grinned at Elena who broke into a strongly amused, maybe even shocked laughter.

"You guys are all sweaty! What the hell happened?", Bonnie snickered and nudged Caroline with her elbow gently before offering her a drink too. You pushed your fingers through your hair and smirked at Caroline who returned the mischievous look before you took Elena's hand and laughed with her.

"The DJ is on fire, that's what happened. And I needed this, so I'm taking all the fun out of tonight. Also, I forgot what a damn fine dancer Care is", you chuckled. "C'mon, I'm hungry. Let's find someone to eat", you wildly suggested, and led Elena into the crowd, leaving Caroline and Bonnie at the bar, but you were sure Caroline would drag her to the dance floor eventually. You and Elena dived through the intoxicated dancing people, and looked for someone hot to drink from, and quickly found a guy who looked rather delicious.

"How about him?", Elena offered, pointing at the guy you had been staring at as well. You smirked, and nodded happily as you both walked to the shirtless man, enjoying the sight of his toned body and the flirtatious look that you responded to. In a place like that, with people like that, it was easy to find yourselves at his neck, kissing and nipping softly at first but after Elena compelled him to be quiet, you both sank your fangs into his smooth skin. The young man tilted his head back and under the neon lights, you and Elena drank from his neck together, you on the left side and her on the right side.

You placed your hand on the man's revealed pecs, and held him on your arms while hungrily devouring his blood until you felt satisfied enough and followed Elena's lead by pulling your fangs out. You nipped on your wrist and offered him your blood, which he took without even forcing him to it, and after he was healed, you and Elena continued to dance around, feeding once in a while. You had both been vampires enough to know the limit and how to control yourself, but once in a while it was good to have some fun, even if it wasn't recklessly dangerous kind of fun. But fun, nonetheless.

"Is that Bon-Bon?", you asked in amusement and pointed at the girl dancing on top of the bar, earning laughter from Elena as she nodded. It was indeed your precious Bennett witch on the countertop, with a bottle in hand as she swayed her hips along the intense beat, waving her hair around and letting her arms go along while she danced. People cheered at her, and some random hot guy joined her, dancing with her which only made everyone go wilder.

You and Elena flashed to the bar where you found Caroline laughing her ass off as she downed multiple colorful drinks. You joined her, while Elena remained close to Bonnie, ready to catch her if she happened to slip and fall. It was highly likely, especially with Bonnie's state of serious intoxication, but somehow she managed to keep herself on her feet, as long as she wanted to.

But she did reach a point where it wasn't so much fun anymore.

"Catch me!", she yelled and let herself fall, back ahead, slumping into the crowd of people that caught her and started to move her towards the exit. As Bonnie was already on her way to the outdoors, you decided to check the clock, and after seeing it was almost midnight, you grabbed a bottle of champagne and then the hands of your best friends before dragging them outside.

"It's almost midnight. We gotta make it to Times Square", you informed them, and gladly they agreed to go. You made your way outside where you found Bonnie, and supported her weakly swinging body while taking Times Square as your next destination. You spent good couple of hours in the club, and it was certainly wild and a nice way to kick off the night but there was still much to do.

Easily, you found the right place, and with only a few minutes to midnight, you arrived to Times Square where it was obviously very crowded. You hugged your girls, holding them tightly while feeling the intoxication slip away to be replaced with a rather sentimental side to end the hell of a year you guys had.

"I love you all. Thank you for being here for me no matter what. I seriously appreciate you all, and your friendship, and I feel so lucky because I get to spend every day with you. You're all absolutely amazing, from head to toe, from outside to inside and I hope 2016 will be as good to us as 2015 was. Sure we had some ups and downs but that's just part of living in Mystic Falls. I love you, all of you", you explained, yelling over the noise, and making them all smile with your words. Bonnie pulled you into a tight hug, while Caroline and Elena hugged, and you couldn't help but feel happy all around when she held you so warmly and fondly.

"I love you too, Y/N. You're an incredible friend and I hope our friendship never has to be just a memory, but a constant. Something I never have to look back to, when I can look forward and smile at the memories we still have to create instead of remembering", Bonnie sighed and squeezed the air out of you with her enthusiastic hug. You smiled, and nodded your head, agreeing completely.

You couldn't exchange more words, when you heard a loud voice counting from ten, and everyone, including you four, joined. At three, you started to be nervous and excited, and then it just happened. It was midnight, and it was 2016. The long, eventful but amazing year was behind and there was more to come. It was time to move on, open a new page, start a new chapter, turn a new leaf. And you were excited to do it with your best friends.

Fireworks went off, covering the sky with many colors and shapes, forcing some to cover your ears while some laughed, yelled and whistled excitedly. The fireworks threatened to tear apart the blue canvas, while Caroline went for a hug and closed you all three in it, holding you close.

"I love you!", Caroline yelled, directing it at you, Elena and Bonnie but many people replied the same way and cheered. It made you all laugh, and while you hugged, many more I love you's were shared in the small but tight group you had had since childhood and would continue to keep going for many more years.

And god, the afterparty that followed, it was insane.
