Imagine Kai and Klaus fighting over you

Never in a million years did the residents of Mystic Falls consider the possibility of Klaus Mikaelson returning to the town after everything he had been dealing with in New Orleans, but after hearing that there was some new guy trying to win over his very best girl, it was only 100% reality.

Klaus was known as the jealous type, that had been confirmed to be true when he used to live in Mystic Falls and spend time with you. The amount of people he threatened to slaughter because they did something as petty as approach you was limitless, but soon all of that was forgotten when you parted - he moved to New Orleans and you refused to go with him because your whole life was in Mystic Falls. It wasn't going to be some spontaneous romantic choice, because you knew you'd regret it later so instead of pursuing feelings and moving to the magical city Niklaus considered as his favorite place in the world, you stayed behind and let the potential love between you and him harbor in the past.

And you thought you didn't need a man. For months, you remained in the belief that you'd be the next strong independent female that Mystic Falls needed, now that Katherine was sitting on her throne in hell and Rebekah had followed her siblings to New Orleans and no one else seemed capable of taking the lead. You got over Klaus, or at least you covered the truth with a bunch of comforting lies, and things seemed to be well for you. But then something happened - more like someone.

You were introduced to Kai Parker. At first, he played it cool, talked about himself, offered you his Twitter user so you could follow him - as if you'd let him or anyone know about your secret fan account - but then you found out he was the nightmarish villain Damon and Bonnie had spent so much time with. And even with time, they hadn't grown to love him like people did in movies. They hated him with a burning passion, and Damon swore that one day he'd kill him but you weren't like that.

In fact, you sort of, kind of, in a way, fell in love with him.

"Oh, my gosh, Y/N! What is it with you and the bad boys?", was Caroline's first and eternal reaction, but she did have a point. You just didn't have a solution to what would slowly, eventually become a problem.

You and Kai bonded. That was all there was to it - you connected and it was only a matter of time when that match would ignite underneath the evident friction and heat. Soon you already had your first kiss, and so, things between you and Kai Parker were heading off to what you hoped to be a bright future even if it was just for a while. You needed a win, and so far Kai seemed to be anything but a loss, with his charming ways, handsome looks, and the bad boy attitude that had caught you for the second time now.

But connections weren't only what got you and him together. Connections were also what threatened to break you apart. Matt, the more or less innocent human who aimed to stay far away from Kai, did happen to know the man anyway, and as soon as he found out just how close you and him were, he informed his not so ex-lover, Rebekah. Who obviously told Klaus. Which led into this fine situation, you standing between the two men, Kai and Klaus, who both were in love with you and determined to get the girl. It was a game Damon and Stefan had played over Katherine, and Elena, and you had always thought they were all a bunch of fools but here you stood now, forced to make a decision that would inevitably break at least one heart.

"Stop fighting", you groaned as you stood in the snow that reached your ankles, and shot glares to both of the guys that quite frankly weren't afraid to kill the other. And that was precisely what scared you the most. At any moment now, maybe Kai would use his magic to cause torment to Klaus, which would only infuriate him and lead into him killing Kai for good. "Please", you begged, and breathed out heavily before letting go of them both. For the past good five minutes you had been holding them back from assaulting each other, and god only knows how you managed to do that but you did and you weren't going to give up now.

"Love, I... Forgive me for leaving you behind, there hasn't been a day that has gone by without me thinking about you. I've tried to stop, but I can't. I fancy you, far more than he ever will. We had something very special, Y/N, and I will never forget those months that I spent with you. I just wish there could be more", Klaus began explaining himself, and gave you a heartfelt smile while his gorgeous eyes locked with yours. You felt your heart melting and your mind becoming a mess you weren't sure you could solve - it was an effect Klaus had on you and always would. Could you really just leave him, tell him to shove it after all you lived and experienced together? Could you live in the belief, in the lie that he didn't matter and that you were happy without him?

"Blah, blah, blah. You left. I came. You're history, you're in the past, but I'm the present and the future for Y/N. I love her, and even though I'm not an expert on feelings, I know that what I feel for is real and I'm not afraid to admit it. Besides, don't you have a baby to take care of?", Kai defended himself, and wrapped an arm around your waist. Of course, there was Kai who was in some ways a complete opposite of Klaus, but in a way, not at all. He was right though, Klaus was supposed to be in the past, maybe Kai was the future after all. You and him had fallen for each other quickly, and he seemed to make you smile and feel genuinely happy.

But so did Klaus.

"I do, and I would love to introduce Y/N to her", Klaus replied, surprising you with his somewhat calm reaction. "And if I were you, I'd choose my words carefully. That baby isn't here right now and I have no problem with smacking your head off, mate", he then added, and you couldn't help but smile. There he was, the Klaus you knew.

You gave an apologetic look to Kai. "Sorry, but it was you who brought up the baby", you said, and reassuringly squeezed his hand. But it didn't stop him from firing again, aiming to bring Klaus down and make him see how there was only one man for you, and how it was definitely not the hybrid.

"Ah, father of the year", Kai said, his voice dripping with venomous sarcasm. Gosh, it was obvious that he had spent lots of time with Damon.

His words angered Klaus to a point where he attacked Kai, smacked him against a tree and got ready for a fight. You covered your mouth, wanting to intervene but in the fear of getting killed yourself, you took a step back and watched the two men fight over you. Kai had his fair share of power and motivation to win, but so did Klaus, and the two of them were on the verge of shamelessly slaughtering each other so you stopped them, eventually.

"Enough!", you screamed, and the both of them stopped. The men turned to look at you, and you inhaled sharply, glancing at them while opening your mouth again.

"I decided. I want to be with..."

sorry but i kinda love these open endings where you get to choose who you want to be with

i'd choose klaus because even though i love kai a lot like wow a lot,, it's klaus ok. K L A U S.

also i realized that i used to roll my eyes at elena and the salvatores like choose woman choose but if i'd have to really choose between two favorite fictional characters or celebrities i'd be like no fanks tbfh oR ""ok,, but consider this... threesomes anyone ??""
