Imagine having a nightmare and calling Silas who comes to your house, comforts you and spends the rest of the night with you

You didn't have nightmares too often, honestly. You were quite the dreamer, though, and usually you woke up before the best part, like a kiss with your dream guy, whether it was a celebrity or your secret crush - and that annoyed you. But tonight, was different. You had your first nightmare in months, it had been perhaps even a year. But when you did experience a dream gone bad, they were like a million ones put together, so horrible you woke up sweaty and crying and trembling. So it was good you didn't have them so much, but you did on one Thursday have one, and it was bad.

Your feet stomped on the sticks and stones on the moist ground which kept scratching your skin as you ran through the woods you had never before been in. It was terrifying, you didn't know who, or what was chasing you, but you knew there was something behind you and it sounded hostile, hungry even, and really in the mood to kill so it was enough to set you off into a quick horrified run towards a destination you weren't sure of. You didn't know how far in the woods you were, or if there was an exit at all, but you were looking for one, though honestly the thought of not finding a way out made you cry as you ran.

You were wearing a dress, ruined by the dirt and the branches and what not in the woods, to which you either bumped into, fell into or something else. Your hair was a sticky dirty mess, and your face and skin was stained with dirt, bruises, blood and the cuts from which the red liquid found it's way out. You felt broken and ruined and fragile and weak, more than ever.

It didn't sound like much, but it felt worse than anything you had ever experienced, from all the nightmares you ever had, this was the most awful one. The feeling was eating you from inside, poisoning your veins and swallowing you whole. It felt like reality, the realest kind of reality, and there was nothing or nobody to save you from it. This was it, your end, how you'd die. You were taking in your last breaths, and your heart was beating it's last beats, and your feet landing on their last steps.

You were even more convinced when you felt someone tightly grasp your arm, and yank you to the other way, causing a scream rise from your throat and burn it achingly until it came out and the whole ground shook as you shouted from the top of your lungs in fear and knowledge of your death, slowly covering you like a dark blanket which would eventually suffocate you and leave you lifeless.

Where were all your friends now? Where was your family? Where was your secret crush?

Silas.

Everyone seemed to hate him, but you fell in love with him instantly. You had kind of liked Stefan, so when you met another man with the same appearance, your heart fluttered, especially when you got to know him. He was funny, he truly entertained you, and even though he could get cocky at times, you didn't mind. You fell in love, but kept your feelings to yourself, satisfied with the friendship you and him grew quickly.

And his beautiful face was the last thing you thought about, as your body approached the ground, and you caught a glance of the person who was clawing at your flesh, before waking up. Your body never hit the leaves and branches on the ground, instead, you jumped up and panted heavily as sweat rolled down on your temples and nose.

"What the fuck", was all you managed to breathe out while holding your chest in pain. The nightmare had been so vivid, you felt like you were still in it. Like you were still on the verge of death. You looked down at your hands, which were sweaty as well, but didn't have any cuts on them or bruises, either. Sometimes you had woken up with a knife in your hand, which could have ended horribly, but this nightmare didn't drive you into grabbing anything or going anywhere.

You were still sitting in your bed, moist with cold sweat of panic and fear, trembling and silently crying as you understood what you had went through again. Your nightmares were the worst. You didn't know what to do, how to do, where to go - but one thing was for sure, you were not going to fall asleep again. Not only because you didn't want to, but because you sure as hell couldn't after all that.

But that near-death experience got you thinking, even if it wasn't real, and you understood what was the last thing you thought you'd ever think or imagine in your head. Before thinking about your next act more, you grabbed your phone, and didn't care about the time it showed you, and picked Silas' number.

There you were then, calling your big crush Silas at three in the morning because you were scared. It started to seem like a bad idea, but the truth was, you couldn't be alone and he was the person you really needed and wanted to be with right now. So you clutched harder to your duvet and swallowed thickly, and waited for Silas to pick up, which he did quite quickly.

"Hey, Y/N. Are you alright? It's three in the morning", he chuckled. You nodded, but understood he couldn't see it, so you scratched the back of your neck and started to put something at least slightly reasonable together in your messed up mind.

"Hey, Silas, uh, yeah. Or, no, really, I uh... I was... Um, this is really awkward, but I uh, I had a nightmare, like, a really bad one, and I was hoping if you could stop by my house and maybe, keep me some company because I am way too terrified to be on my own now... I totally understand if you don't want to, it's cool, but I was just...", you stuttered, and listened to the voices you could hear on the phone. Concluding from what you were hearing, Silas was in a bar or something like that, and that was why you now felt even more embarrassed. What if he was there with friends?

Well, it's not like he actually had too many friends, but maybe he got himself some drinking buddies. Damon, maybe.

"Of course, I'm pretty close to your house so I'll be there in a moment. Hang in there, yeah?", Silas responded, making you sigh out loud in relief and thank him before hanging up. You placed your phone on your nightstand and sighed again while running your hands along your face and then placing them on the duvet which you squeezed and brought up to your face to hide yourself.

The nightmare haunted your mind and wouldn't leave you alone, it was messing with your head and invading your thoughts no matter what you tried to pay attention to. All you could imagine, was the feeling of you being held down and your death arriving, and the happenings were replaying in your mind, on a continuous loop, not giving you time to breathe or calm down. It was suffocating you.

It was ruining you.

And soon, you started to gasp for air, pant heavily. You clutched to your chest, and with your other hand held your sweaty weak body up on the bed, as you prayed for help and relief, as much as you could. It was like you were in another nightmare, but before things got worse, you shaken out of it by Silas, of course.

"Y/N? Y/N, look at me. Look at me! I'm here, right here, I won't let anything happen to you, alright? Calm down, please. You aren't having a nightmare", Silas started to comfort you, hoping you'd calm down, and he did succeed. You took in deep breaths, and locked your eyes with his, and relief and comfort took over you and you could feel your breathing becoming easier and heartbeat slowing down to normal.

"Silas... Thank you, Silas... I love you so much, thank you", you breathed out, and he looked at you with a wild smile, and his eyebrows lifted up as he played your words in his mind again and again. He liked it, he did feel the same way even though you didn't know it yet, but he didn't think you'd admit it, or maybe you were just saying it without meaning it.

"You do?", Silas asked, and you looked at him in confusion, not understanding what he was talking about. You had just admitted your love to him, without understanding, but Silas had heard it for sure. And he never wanted to unhear it. He loved you, and you loved him, and you were now very close to happiness since you had confessed your feelings to him already.

"You said you loved me, Y/N", he smiled, and your faint smile died down entirely.

"Oh."

"I love you too, you know. I love you a lot", Silas muttered, and gave you a happy smile. You smiled, and confessed your love again, before he gave you gentle kiss. His lips felt right on yours, and when he pulled away, you let out a whimper, needing more but he didn't kiss you again. Instead, he slid down on the bed, and took you next to him, before holding you tightly and pressing his lips against the top of your head.

"Try to sleep, okay? I'll protect you from the nightmares, I swear", he whispered, his voice thick and sexy and capable of sending shivers down your spine as you nodded and closed your eyes. To be honest, you were still somewhat scared to fall asleep, but with Silas holding you like that, it wasn't hard to enter a slumber, that was peaceful finally.

Maybe hearing Silas admit his true feelings to you was enough to scare every negative, scared, bad or sad thought and feeling in you.
