Imagine having an argument with Klaus and later singing for him to show him how much you really love him
A crash echoed through the apartment you lived in with your husband Klaus Mikaelson, as you threw a vase to the closest wall out of pure anger. You groaned out loud and ran your hands along your face, wanting to give up on everything and to just delete all feelings. Your husband was an ass, you were convinced of it and you struggled to remain calm around him at this very moment, so you didn't. You burst out on him, and you ended up yelling and shouting each other, and throwing things in the heat of the argument.
You and Klaus loved each other a lot, but whenever he managed to get you angry, you didn't hold back. There were rarely any occasions where specifically he would annoy you past the breaking point and push you over the edge, but this time he had succeeded by doing nothing but simply trying to get your attention and show you some affection. You happened to be under a lot of stress though, and not even the most relaxing thing you could think of - singing - would help. His way to attempt drawing your attention away from the work you were supposed to get done irritated you, and one thing led to another, until finally, to this very moment.
"Thank you so much for distracting me from all my work. Really, I'm sooo grateful! It's not like I totally had to get them done or anything. But no, you always have to get your way, don't you, Nik? I'm out of here, maybe elsewhere I can be left in peace", you grunted and shoved the hybrid out of your way. You had been arguing for the past half an hour and you were exhausted, and had so much at your hands, waiting to be done but when you finally found the time, your idiot of a husband decided to bother you. You walked to the front door, opened it, and before Klaus could protest or disagree with the option you had settled for, you made your way outside and slammed the door shut behind you.
You crossed your arms and started to walk down the streets, looking for a peaceful place where you would be able to finally read some stuff and what not. Homework was stupid, but it had to be done and that was something Klaus didn't seem to understand. He was, after all, the almighty hybrid who didn't need to do anything when he had so many people to do everything for him. But real, actual people with real, actual lives did things on their own, right?
You were angry, but you didn't hate Klaus. Not as much as you thought you did, anyway. You loved him quite the bit, but you were blinded by the stress and the frustration. It would only be a matter of time, though - the regret could hit any moment. You were known as one to get absolutely furious whenever the rare situation arrived, but you never lasted so tough for too long. Eventually you broke and softened and wanted to hug whoever you had yelled at, and this time wasn't an exception.
You started to hum along a song while working on the bench you had found. The song was fairly catchy, and it reminded you of Klaus, and inevitably your husband came to your mind, distracting you from the task at hand once again even if he was absent. You groaned and looked up to the dark night sky, chewing on your lower lip unhappily and sighing as you understood how you already craved to apologize and forgive.
"Bloody hell", you muttered, a phrase you had caught from Rebekah whilst you and Klaus still lived under the same roof with her. Now, it was just you and Nik, and at the moment, just Klaus, without his wife by his side. And the thought ate you from the inside, poisoned you and caused heartache and regret in you - the more you thought about the pain you had given him, the more you wanted to run back home and drop to your knees, begging for his forgiveness. You barely yelled at him, but whenever you did, the remorse that followed afterwards was unbearable, and would not ease until you'd have the peace his forgiveness granted.
The pen in your hands broke and you dropped the remains onto the cold ground. Slowly you got up from the bench, and breathed in sharply while taking the first steps towards the house you only a moment ago left in such anger. You bit your lip while thinking about a proper way to apologize, and then it hit you. You loved singing, and Klaus loved hearing you sing - what would be a better way to apologize than some heartfelt words, a few romantic lyrics to remind him of your relationship and a passionate yet loving kiss to end the fight between you. You smiled while thinking about it, and decided to go with the plan you formed in your mind as you carefully knocked on the front door.
"What is it now, can I not--", you heard Klaus complain and grunt as he yanked open the door. His words stopped like at a wall when he saw you, and his eyes looked at you sadly while his mouth continued to hang open. You could see the sorrow in his eyes, and therefore you just had to pull him into a hug. It was tight, warm, caring and you prayed in your mind that he'd feel it too. That he'd know you loved him even if sometimes you snapped and lashed out on him.
"Love", he breathed out, opening his mouth again to continue speaking and to form an apology of some sort, but it was you who had to apologize so you stopped him by placing a finger on his pink kissable lips. You shook your head, and without letting him speak, you took his hand and led him to the grand piano in the living room which he had bought. You didn't have time to play it very often, but you were half a talent so occasionally you performed a song here or there to entertain not only yourself, but your husband. You sat by the instrument, and gave Klaus a quick look while smiling warmly at him which caused his lips to curve upwards as well.
"I was hoping you wouldn't mind if I sang a song for you", you smiled carefully, and when he nodded, agreeing to hear you sing to him, you turned to the piano and let your fingers slide on the keyboard gracefully, beautifully, creating a tune you were used to singing while alone. Your mouth opened, and you started to sing, your voice managing to send shivers down Klaus' spine while he smiled at you. He truly loved you, gosh, so much, and it could be seen from the fond look and the way he seemed like he never wanted to leave your side.
You closed your eyes, and succeeded on playing the piano even then, which surprised even yourself, though it wasn't flawless, unlike your voice. Singing was a hidden talent in you, you never took advantage of it or thought about making a career out of it but you loved it, and so did Klaus. He listened to you sing and play, loving the pure sounds and he couldn't stop smiling proudly, fondly, and so in love. His head moved slightly along the music, and his hand was placed on your thigh, which distracted you like he seemed to do to you quite the amount, but you didn't mind. Not anymore.
When the song ended, you remained still, your eyes still closed and your fingers on the piano. Until Klaus grabbed you, his arm wrapped around your body and tilting you backwards so he could kiss the breath away from you. Your lips collided and you melted into the connection, adoring the taste and the feeling like never before. Your hand went for his cheek and you couldn't help but smile when you felt the stubble against your palm, and when you felt him press harder into the kiss. Suddenly he lifted you from the seat at the piano, and took you in his arms while standing up, and immediately you wrapped your legs around his waist. He carried you to the couch, where you continued to kiss softly, intensely, until you had to break it and catch some air.
"I love you, Y/N. It was entirely my fault you got so angry, and I completely understand where it was from. I promise to never push you like that again, and to make it up to you, I will help you with whatever work you have at your hands. I just wish to not lose you", Klaus spoke, his accent smooth and his voice like velvet in your ears. You felt like melting on his arms, but somehow you remained under control while staying close to him, your legs around his waist and your hand on his face, touching him gently.
You broke into a smile and nodded. "I love you, as well, Nik. I don't want to lose you either. Sorry for yelling at you, I shouldn't have gotten so angry... But it's all over now, okay? I'll get all the work done and then I'll pay all the attention to you, my love", you spoke and kissed his lips once more.
"Sounds like a plan, love", he replied with his usual charming smirk.
Maybe sometimes you did get angry, but you were his wife, and he was going to stay with through and thick beside you. He was going to do his everything to keep you smiling, even if it sometimes meant being the target of your rage. He loved you nonetheless, and always would.
