Imagine you and Stefan trying to comfort your child who's upset about not being invited to her parents' wedding
"N-No, baby girl, listen to me-- No, I did not-- No, just--", you heard your husband Stefan stammer in the living room where he was sitting with your absolutely heartbroken daughter. You had only just gotten home, so you were listening to the conversation with only half an ear, while the rest of your attention resided in your belongings which you tossed onto the kitchen counter, and in the thought of needing to cook dinner but you didn't really feel like it. But you loved sitting down, all of you, as a family and relaxing with the two most important people to you.
"Everything okay here?", you asked while making your way to the living room where you saw Stefan in complete frustration, trying to calm your little miracle down but it seemed hopeless. Stefan was a good father, and as soon as he had heard of the impossible suddenly being possible - a vampire pregnancy - he started to prepare and ever since he had done a five star job. But now, he looked so annoyed there was no limits to his frustration and it made you lift an eyebrow. He had never grown irritated with your little girl, except now which meant that it had to be something colossal.
You wiped your hair away from your face and sat down on the couch, right next to your husband and placed a hand on his thigh while giving a warm smile to your daughter who was sitting on the footstool with her arms crossed, and her lips curved into an unhappy pout. You glanced at Stefan, who let out a sigh and covered his face with his palms, giving up at the very moment.
"No, everything is not okay!", your little girl shouted, "how could you get married and not invite me!", in absolute sadness which she covered with yelling but she couldn't hide the wobbling lower lip or the watery eyes. You opened your mouth to say something, but only a low breath came out - your daughter was four years old and you and Stefan had gotten married ten years ago, when you didn't even know to expect a child.
You turned to Stefan, but he just shook his head after looking right back at you. "I've tried everything. She won't believe me, and she keeps yelling at me and throwing stuff at me. She's like you, Y/N, stubborn, tough, and at times, violent", he groaned, earning a punch from you.
"I am not violent", you protested, right after you had punched his shoulder and insisted on something else, which only proved that you were indeed stubborn, as well. You and your daughter were quite alike. "Sorry", you muttered to Stefan who smiled happily, but before he could make you feel guiltier, you turned back to your little girl and caressed her cheek softly only to get your hand swatted away. Your eyes widened, and you swallowed as you understood what Stefan meant when he compared you and her.
"Listen, princess--", you started, but Stefan interrupted.
"Oh, no, I already called her a princess but she insists on being a queen", he pointed out, and you rolled your eyes as if to thank him for the interruption. You smiled at your daughter, and tried to be as nice as possible but you didn't really know how to explain the situation kindly to her and make sense at the same time.
"Fine, queen, I'm sorry we didn't invite you to our wedding. I promise that if we get married again, you'll get to wear a gorgeous dress and be the special guest, okay?", you comforted her, and took her to your arms to kiss her cheek and tickle her sides. She broke into a smile, followed by giggling and she nodded her head.
"Fine, but you better get married soon, then!", she insisted, and while laughing, you and Stefan both nodded.
Your daughter ran out of the room, and as soon as she was out of sight, Stefan placed his lips on yours passionately and engaged in an intense kiss. You answered to it by playing your lips along his equally wonderfully, and by setting one hand on the back of his head to push him harder against you. You smiled into the kiss and your lips parted, but your foreheads stayed together while Stefan's hand took yours and your fingers intertwined. You didn't want the moment to end, but like all, it had to at some point, as well.
"I missed you", Stefan spoke. For once you had been out of the house for the day and Stefan stayed in - usually it was the other way around. "You know, I'm pretty sure that our little queen won't give up so easily. So how about you and I arrange another wedding, just to make new vows or something, it's been a decade after all?", Stefan then suggested, looking into your eyes with his own warm ones. You smiled and nodded your head, agreeing and falling for the idea of a second wedding, but still with the same man. The man you'd always be with.
"I love you", you muttered, to which Stefan replied the same way, only for you to hear your little girl disagreeing in the next room.
"Ew!", she shouted, but instead of feeling insulted, your and your husband both laughed, at your very own daughter.
